WARNING!!!!! Quality Moving and Storage is a horrific company. I repeat A HORRIBLE COMPANY. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU VALUE YOUR BELONGINGS. The woman Kathy will talk your ear off, ensuring you that you are in good hands, but will fail to mention the companies insurance policy. If you don't get the insurance on your belongings, lets say you have a $1,000 flat screen and it weighs 10lbs, they will give you $6 for it. I was unaware of this and I paid $6,000 to have all my belongings shipped from New York to South Florida. I paid that money for a PROFESSIONAL MOVING COMPANY. THAT IS NOT WHAT YOU WILL GET! Quality Moving Comany is affiliated with other moving companies as well. The company that unloaded my things was called Wheaton Moving company, and that place is a nightmare (look at the reviews for yourself.) When the truck arrived to my home in Florida, the boxes looked like someone played football with them. Come to find out the 3 men that were unloading my irreplaceable belongs were picked up from LABOR FINDERS (its basically just as bad as them picking up workers off the side of the road) they haven't moved a day in their lives!!!! The amount of damage is unreal, my photos speak for themselves. There are things of mine that my deceased mother hand painted that are broken. I had a beautiful 3 foot bird feeder that they must have broke and didn't want me to know about it so they never brought it inside. Boxes that said fragile and had arrows pointing upwards were facing down and smashed beyond repair. I will be taking this company to civil court and try to get my money back. I am appalled that I paid that much money for professional movers and got my belongings destroyed. When I asked the man who works for quality moving about why my boxes look like this- his answer was, you bought boxes from Home Depot, they don't make good boxes.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! The woman who works in the office, Kathy said she would call me at the end of the week, well I've yet to hear from her and I doubt I will because she got her check that I was unable to cancel. They were so considerate, efficient, and expeditious and they finished in an extremely timely fashion with no breakage of anything. I received such personalized care from Kathy and all of the men. Quaility Moving and Storage moved a full house of possessions and furniture from Melville to South Jersey. I had done quite a bit of research as my move involved an expensive upright piano which not all companies have the expertise to move. Of the few estimates I received, John at Quailty provided the most fair and guaranteed "not to go over" price. Communication for setting a date and leading up to the move was professional. The loading team was was also professional and friendly and worked quickly. Despite some tight hallways and large items such as a treadmill, there was not even one nick to my walls. The truck arrived early the next morning at the new house and a team of just two pros made short work of unloading the entire truck. Everything was intact and not a scratch on the pano. I moved from long island to Maine in March and they did a fantastic job. I needed to leave before they were done to catch a boat and they were professional. In short I don't think you can go wrong hiring them. The owner John gave me a fair price and covered ever aspect of the info and moving. From John's visit to my mother's house in East Patchogue to give her an estimate on her move.....all the way until they delivered her belongings to her new home in South Carolina, QM&S was AWESOME! A family run business affiliated with Wheaton. Kathy was a pleasure to deal with each time I called the office. She always asked how my mom was doing because she knew it was overwhelming for her. Kathy was so friendly and assuring, that alot of my anxiety simply melted away! The three packers that came to the house were on-time, professional, careful and friendly. They worked hard and fast. They took special care of my mom's belongings and were especially sensitive and careful in packing my father's urn. When the moving team loaded the truck in NY and unloaded it in South Carolina, they were organized, flexible and efficient. They were careful yet worked quickly. They catered to my mother's concerns and moved things around for her until she was happy with where everything was put. They went above and beyond in making her feel at ease while they handled her possessions. My husband and I have moved 6 different times, to 4 different states, and this move that I organized for my mother was the smoothest of them all, and I did it all from North Carolina to boot! We hired this company to move, store and move our belongings. The crew on moving day was very nice and they seemed to do a good job of wrapping things up that were going to storage. Moving out day went well. The moving truck left a big oil puddle in the driveway but that was no longer our problem. Fast forward to moving in day 3 months later. Some of our furniture and items came back dented and scratched. I suppose that is to be expected. Our staircase is tight and the walls got beat up. Again to be expected. We had some broken glass that they paid to replace. It took us a few weeks to completely unpack. We had boxes of china marked fragile and many of the plates wrapped in paper and bubble wrap were broken. Also at least one missing box that the company just kind of blew us off about. I don't know how this company stores things but I think it may be not the best way. They stored 2 aluminum ladders for us and returned one aluminum and one fiberglass. If this company is willing or able to find my missing box, I'd be more than willing to edit my review. read more

I recently used this company both for moving and storage. They drastically mishandled my belongings...to the tune of breaking more than 30 items that were bubble wrapped and clearly marked fragile on each box. Items are broken into smitherines. In addition, they damaged several pieces of quality furniture by scratching, marring or breaking off handles. They also broke a glass table top while in my home assembling the piece and are claiming now that they know nothing about it. Don't use this company, they don't care about you or your belongings ...just getting their money$$$$! read more

This moving company is a local affiliate of Wheaton Van Lines. They were nice and came in at a reasonable estimate. But that's where it all ends. Aside from the person packing the breakables (Tony) who did an excellent job, the rest started ok but in the end just wanted to get the job over with. One of the guys had an attitude from the get go. To enumerate the disasters: first they wrapped wood furniture in paper pads without any plastic around. I had light leather chairs that were scuffed bec the paper just fell apart as they were shoved around. Heavy, expensive wood furniture was not fully protected by cardboard before being plastic wrapped that one corner was smashed when it was dropped. An irreplaceable Art Deco lamp snapped in two when the owner himself decided to pack it at the last min with a heavy umbrella stand without wrapping the lamp in anything at all. My bicycle was taken apart in order to shove it in the last space available in the truck. They put it back together all wrong that it needs to be taken to a bike shop and redone at my expense. They literally sent too small a truck that to this day I'm not sure all my belongings made it. No detailed labels were written on the manifest so there's no knowing exactly what was put in where or exactly how many boxes were packed. The list was made prior to them packing everything. I can't tell you how very disappointed I am is this company. Moving is a very traumatic experience in it of itself. After all the damage was communicated to the company on site on the day of the move, no one informed me to mark off the damaged items on the manifest and have the delivery guys sign off on it. Instead the woman at the office offered to pay a petty cash check for $130 bec I didn't get extra insurance. Mind you this move was from a two BR apt to a storage facility. The broken lamp alone, which unfortunately, I didn't see until I moved into the house, cost over $400. The point is she didn't explain the signing on the manifest. If that was done, I would have been able to put a claim through Wheaton Van Lines. I was duped. I would never recommend these movers to anyone ever. I recently moved from my house and had to put everything in storage. I found quality moving and storage from "The Best of LI". I have moved a lot in my life and found this company to be the best of anyone I ever used. They worked hard and didn't slack off. They wrapped my furniture really well so nothing can get damaged. The men were friendly and cooperative. Overall I would give them an A. I would recommend them highly. I hope my move from their storage to my new house goes just as smoothly. read more
