Staff was friendly, rooms clean and the beds were like sleeping on a cloud. We needed a ground floor and was able to get it. Ac was cold even for me but no worries. The only things I found not suitable for me was that I couldn't get T-Mobile there and the hotel wifi wasn't very nice. I believe you could purchase a better wifi plan from the hotel and I thought that was pretty shitty. The other issue was the TV it had crap cable and wasn't a smart TV so you couldn't cast to it if you had decent service. Damn you Tmobile. If you're there to explore the area then TV probably won't be an issue. I was sick so nothing internet related was a bummer. Good place to sleep for sure. read more

Quality Inn is great! You can find community at breakfast and at the pool in the evening. A tip I will share, if you are going to the pool, turn the temperature in your room to 75-80°F (24-27°C) 5-10 minutes before you leave and set the fan to constant so it is not freezing cold when you get back to your room. I love the shower, rotating breakfast, pool, and hot tub. Will return! 5 stars read more

This was our first time staying here. The check in guy was so nice! BUT! He gave us the wrong room which was fixed really quickly! I love the room and the hotel and room was very nice and clean! First morning to breakfast which was across the street in a separate building... we were approached by a man who appeared to be staying there but asked us for money and we rushed into the breakfast area away from him. Yikes! It was the only time it happened in the 4 days we were there! Breakfast was not that great. The second day was better as it seemed fresher than the first morning. SO NOISY! A staff member was pressure washing 2 mornings in a row and woke us up as we like to take after Breakfast and afternoon naps. I went straight to the hotel with this issue. Loved the 24/7 indoor pool! I might stay again if the room wasn't right by the road because traffic was noisy too but not as noisy as that pressure washer which was pushing outdoor furniture down the outside hallway. read more

Truly blown away by the quality of service at the Quality Inn Near The Island! When a large group that I was a part of lost our planned accommodations for the evening due to sudden unfortunate circumstances that were out of our control, the staff at this Quality Inn went above and beyond to help us out. I can't say enough good things about everyone we interacted with on staff, and want to give special shout-outs to Joyce, Danielle, Tina, and Omar. As a bonus, the rooms were very comfortable, nicely decorated, and quite clean. No one wants to travel to a destination only to have their lodging reservation change at the last minute, but the welcoming staff and the quality of rooms here made what could have been a nightmare experience into a fond memory. Highly recommend! read more

All of the staff went over and above and super friendly. The rooms were much nicer than expected. All the food at breakfast in the morning was delicious. We couldn't have asked for more. read more

We loved our stay. The 24 hour pool was a HUGE hit after the kids went to bed. They had a very wide variety of breakfast not only for adults but children as well. The outside had a huge bounce pillow so to a trampoline underground. The outdoor pool was nice & our rooms were clean. I will say the bathroom is very very tiny like knees touching the walls when trying to use the restroom. I also hate the cloth curtains in the shower the floor gets soaked and there is no way got it not to read more

Indoor Hot tub and pool open 24/7 !!!!! Easy check in. The bed was so comfy and our back didn't hurt none. The free breakfast was really good! Staff really friendly. The water pressure in the shower was better than others. We walked to the island most days which is easier and faster than parking and driving there. Went on New Year's Eve and it was really cold and windy so we sat in the parking lot and watched the fireworks in our vehicle bc the island was packed! Will definitely be back to stay here!! read more

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It was very clean and the staff was wonderful. It is in a great location and you can walk to many attractions in Pigeon Forge. Dollywood is about a 20 minute drive. Breakfast was also pretty good and filled us up for hours. The only negative was that housekeeping seemed disorganized. We had to call for towels and they never vacuumed or made the beds. I also didn't like how they are no toilet seat covers, but that is just personal. Overall, would stay again. Good value for your money. read more

The GOOD We didn't have to sleep in the car. The BAD Gross, ugly, and outdated rooms. Toilets not attached to the floor - careful!! Elevator always seems to reside on 4th floor (stairs are probably your best bet). Poorly Painted Putrid pea green walls. Rooms reek like an old Vegas motel...you know...those seedy ones that overwhelm you with heavily scented chemicals used to mask the malodorous smells of past guests...the ones who smoked or had too many drinks in the room. There is NO breakfast! Some of the front desk staff need coaxing to smile, seems like it might be a miserable place to work (judging by the staff's demeanor). The UGLY Be forewarned if you are traveling with children...You can hear EVERYTHING in the surrounding rooms, yelling and arguing between guests, banging headrests against walls. Guests banging on walls and stomping on floors. Every time a "neighbor" urinates or defecates it can be heard. Parking is horrendous, tight spaces (bring the jalopy). Some guests feel that leaning against others' cars is acceptable. Some guests feel they are deserving of handicap parking without having an actual handicap or designated placard. There is a second lot for parking with the second building across the street but it is dark and seems pretty sketchy. A better suited name for this place would be Low-Quality Inn Don't stay here...even if you're desperate for a room. BTW, it's not "NEAR" the Island - Don't be fooled. read more

Check in was nothing special. Parking is limited. Plan to walk if you come back late. Pros: Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Water pressure was good. Fridge in room for my beers. Cons: WiFi?? What WiFi?! LTE limited in room too! Very poor here. TV-locals were not obtainable. Water smelled of bleach or heavily chlorinated. AC we had it as low as it would go,66, and the fan on non-stop and could not get it cool enough. It was mid Oct and definitely fall weather. There was no maid service due to COVID presumably. There was an ice machine I used multiple times for my cooler with no issues. read more

Easy to reserve. Me and my wife got the King suite w/jetted tub 1. The room is plenty big for just me and my wife. 2. Jetted tub was perfect for me and her to get in and relax and she loved it. 3. Bed is comfortable probably most comfortable bed I've slept in at a hotel. 4. Room is CLEAN!! Butttt... The smell is off. Smells like wet Carpet or something. 5. The free breakfast is best breakfast that we have had at a hotel. Biscuits taste homemade.!! If it wasn't for the smell I'd give it a 5 read more

We just spent two evenings at this property and for the most part we really enjoyed our stay. We really like the location and ability to be able to walk to local businesses nearby. We had breakfast one morning which was really nice. They had a variety of items to choose from. I splurged on this trip and spend more that I normally would have. And when I say this I mean I spent $300 per evening to have a king bed with whirlpool tub. I really wanted to enjoy the whirlpool tub with my spouse. We spent most days on the go with a lot of walking and came back to the room exhausted and ready for a good nights sleep which is exactly what we didn't get. The mattress was no bigger than my hand. The metal springs popped when moving anytime during sleep. Not to mention metal springs poking in my back and hips all night which was beyond uncomfortable. I would assume for a $300 a night took it would have been equipped with a much more comfortable bed. read more

I was a little nervous about our stay here due to previous negative reviews but overall we had a fantastic stay! Beds were comfy, room was really clean, the pool and hot tub were nice, we had fresh towels every day as well as our beds made daily by house keeping! WiFi worked better then our cell service due to the amount of people in the area which was a plus. (A prior reviewer mentioned it was terrible so as a reference we stayed in room 250). Microwave and fridge in room was nice as one night we couldn't find a place for dinner without a two hour wait. Front desk personnel were welcoming and explained where our room was (building B by the outdoor pool). It's also close to the Island, a grocery store, and various shops/restaurants. If I come back to pigeon forge I'd stay here again. read more

The hotel is average. 1-2 Stars by hotel rating systems. Standard Beds, Dresser, Microwave, Mini-Fridge, Shower. There is an Indoor Pool that you have to enter from outside as there are no "indoor" hallways. The floor around the pool is tile and extremely slippery with poor drainage so simply walking in the area is a slip hazard. The beds are not comfortable. The room was clean. You can hear other rooms anytime you enter the restroom through the exhaust fans. They do have a decent free breakfast which is a nice perk. The customer service after the stay has been PATHETIC from both Quality Inn and their parent company Choice Hotels! Sunday. We checked out on a Sunday and that afternoon realized we had left a small cinch bag in the room. While still in the area we contacted the hotel by phone to inquire about coming to get the bag. The front desk informed us that if it was found then it was locked up by housekeeping and that NO ONE could access the housekeeping area and they would have to call us back the next day if they found the bag but that we could not come to collect the bag while we were still in town. Monday, I receive a call that they found the bag and that someone will be picking it up to ship to me the next day. I provided my phone and address at this time. Tuesday, I receive a call from the Express Package and Shipping company asking me to provide payment details to ship my bag.......that Quality Inn would not let me pick up while I was still in the area...... I contact the Quality Inn and the front desk informs me that I will need to pay for the shipping. Wednesday, I contact ChoiceHotels.com customer service line who informs me that they understand my concern and that the hotel should ship this bag to me since I was not allowed to pick it up on Sunday before leaving. They contact the location and the Manager is in a meeting and then informs me that the Manager of this location would be contacting me today. Thursday, I did not receive a call from the manager on Wednesday. I call back to Choice Hotels customer service line and they inform me that they contacted the location and they stated "I agreed" to pay to have my bag shipped. I explain that this did not happen and that I repeated to them for clarity that they were saying "So since you would not allow me to pick up my bag Sunday while I was still in the area, you are now also having me pay to ship my bag back to me?". They attempt to reach the Manager again to transfer me and the Manager refuses to accept the call and states that I will be contacted by them this day. Friday, I did not receive a call from the manager on Thursday. We are now 6 days into this situation. I call back into Choice Hotels with my reference number to inform that I have not received a follow up from the Quality Inn Manager regarding this situation. Choice Hotels, CUSTOMER SERVICE line (btw, Choice Hotels owns Quality Inn) informs me that I need to contact the Quality Inn to speak with the Manager as this is the best way to resolve this. I call Quality Inn back and the manager is in a meeting again. This is a stellar example of Customer Service. I am now trying to reach the shipping company to pay to ship for my bag that Quality Inn would not allow me to pick up and writing this review to warn you before you decide to stay here as well. read more

I would definitely stay here again! The room was clean, the bed was super comfortable and the location was excellent. Wonderful stay in Pigeon Forge. The room was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the beds were comfy. Every single staff person I encountered was extremely nice and genuine, from the front desk, to the breakfast staff, to the pool guy. Would recommend this Quality Inn to anyone visiting the area. And the location was perfect being smack dab in the middle of the main strip, made biking to all attractions fun and easy. read more

I recently stayed there in room 358. The carpet was completely bare where it transited to the sink area, the room was extremely humid that everything felt damp, our doorknob fell off and the day before we left we noticed black on the ceiling (which we suspected is mold). The carpet as so seem so gross I wouldn't go barefoot. read more

THE WORST STAFF & HOTEL Rude Staff @ Checkin, Asked Why I needed Handicap Room, 2nd day room service failed to make bed cause our personal pillows and blankets were on the bed...had to call to get then to come straighten the bed later when we returned to the room. That night there was a bad storm knocking the power out and tree branches were falling on cars along with hail. The Fire Alarm went off for 1hr 45 mins and staff was rude & could not shut it off. Told us if we didn't like it we could leave! Finally the fire dept came out to reset the Alarm...after I called them to come help the staff. Just glad I did not pay for the room cause I would of asked for a refund. There's a reason I stay @ IHG Hotels...you get what you pay for!. Day 3 I'm pretty sure NONE OF US ORDERED A 5AM WAKE UP FIRE ALARM. I'm however greatful for the 5 hours of sleep I got...I can only Imagine how the Older people and people with small children are feeling right about now! I give this Inn a Negative 5 review for their horrible front desk staff...and for the heart attack jolting wake up call this morning! I Would Never Stay Here Again!!!! Then on Trip advisor they responded to my review...Joyce the Manager the same lady that adked why I needed a handicap room replied to my review with the following " Response from QualityInnPF, Front Desk Clerk at Quality Inn Responded 2 days ago We are very sorry for the challenges you faced during your stay. Sadly, the sudden storm was out of our control and caused the troubles with the alarm system. The staff worked diligently to get the alarm company here at such an early hour in order to make the repairs. We will be looking into your other concerns with the staff as well. Thank you for your visit and feedback." ARE WE SERIOUS? HERE SHE WAS THE MOST RUDE OF THEM ALL...WHAT A JOKE!!! THANKS FOR YOUR SORRY REPLY JOYCE...NICE DEFLECTION THERE. We arrived at around 7:30 pm, and were exhausted by our drive. The staff was really friendly and gentleman at the front desk asked if we wanted the handicapped king room that we had booked. It wasn't necessary - we wanted a clean room with a king-sized bed, since we were staying overnight. We got some sort of upgrade, and the room we actually stayed in had a hot tub in the corner, and a fireplace at the foot of the bed. We only had an overnight stay, but it was very nice. read more

Was soooooo cheap that I don't know if 3 stars is too low so went with 4 stars. Good pool areas and hot free breakfast. Room was clean except they need to clean the carpets. And location was why we picked because could walk across the street to Ferris Wheel. 4 stars because of the value because we weren't expecting the Ritz or even a Courtyard by Marriott experience. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. There is nothing worse that rude front a desk clerk to make your stay wonderful....not!! The rooms were dirty and the air conditioner didn't work. There is no reason to waste your money at this hotel. read more

Low-end motel. Front desk people can barely manage a smile when you get there. Clean, nice looking room, but noisy like hell (the inn layout makes it that whenever someone passes in front of your door you hear them (and see them). There is a fridge and a microwave in the room, but the sink has no tower rack, and the whole arrangement of the bathroom cum kitchinette is a little strange. I would not stay there with a young child. They do offer breakfast but it is HORRIBLE. Decent pool, if small. Maybe compared to other places around it is not bad, but staying in this part of Pigeon forge is like vacationing in a zoo. and a zoo with bad traffic, mind you. I'd avoid. read more

When we got to our room it had a musty smell. It wasn't awful though. It was overall clean but we had ants in our room crawling on the tops of the wall and exiting above the door to outside. The bed was awful we actually checked out a night early and went home. The air conditioning was a joke. We had our thermostat set in 62 but it felt like it was 75. And don't waste your money on a king size standard room. It's a queen size room just with a bigger bed and less room everything was crammed in since the bed was bigger. Only thing going for it was it was pretty clean and a good location but wouldn't stay again. read more

As other reviewers have stated this motel/hotel has all outside facing doors, is clean and appears to be well kept. The outside pool looks nice, though being here in October nullifies that point. The bathroom doesn't have a fan so it does make for a humid/smelly atmosphere for the rest of the room. The bed isn't soft, but it's not springy either. The wifi was extremely fast for a hotel. The thing keeping me from giving this place a 4 star review is the noise!.... Oh my the noise.... It's worse than my college dorm room, and the walls were made out of paper there. I will not be coming back to this establishment for this reason. read more

I stayed at Shular Inn with my husband and our 10 and 12-year-old. We live in Orlando, FL and traveled there for a Fall break. The staff was very friendly and personable. It's a great location because it is far enough away from the busyness of downtown Gatlinburg, but not too far away from all the sites. And, I am a stickler for cleanliness and our rooms, bathrooms and the indoor pool/hot tub were all very clean! We encouraged our children to be very active, hiking during the day, so they really looked forward to the 24-hour indoor pool and it helped us keep them happy! We will definitely be back again! read more

Nice updated-ish rooms. Very convenient location right in the heart of Pigeon Forge. The room was clean and big. The back building was detached and the area right next to it seemed sketchy. Stayed at Shuler inn 6/27/15 for two nights after driving by it several times due to outside appearance was not pleasing to me, but after many attempts to find better lodging decided to take a look at room which was located in back building .To my surprise the room was very clean with updated furniture and a jacuzzi tube in bedroom and wonderful mountain views on the 5th floor. I agree with the other reviews that the indoor pool area looked filthy and dingy, but the outdoor pool was clean and my granddaughter enjoyed it. Breakfast area was fine enjoyed coffee one morning, also with the exception of one very rude middle aged desk reception clerk (blonde/ Grey hair, ) The staff was extremely kind and helpful. Never checked in. We evacuated from Florida Hurricane Irma in a hurry to have a place to stay. Called 4 hours from booking thru Expedia due to the fact they would not take our dog. The original hotel was clearly a dive that they tried to update when they added another building on the back street. The update on the original hotel is that of a new counter top for the sink and new sheets and carpet. The room feels outdated and half attempted at something nice. The sheets are cheap and the towels feel as though you're drying off with sand paper. They offer a soap bar and a small tube of shampoo. This is something I would only expect in a rundown 2 star hotel. When we asked at check in to stay in the new building, the staff looked panicked and said well all the rooms are the same. They clearly aren't as we read several reviews stating the same problem. The people staying in the room next to us were up all night yelling and being annoying. We called the front desk to take care of it. They kept making noise for another half hour. By this time it was past midnight. The desk clerk said that it was most likely just people in the pool and not the guest next door. They kept up the noise till past 2 am with no help from the front desk. This has been hands down the worst hotel experience I have had in years. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The pictures are a joke unless you're lucky enough to be put in the new building. The breakfast room is in the new building which is down the hill across a back street. It feels like an entirely different hotel compared to the "remodeled" one. The breakfast left nothing to be desired we walked in and then decided to eat elsewhere the entire time we stayed. Some scrambled eggs and some sausage that looked like it had been soaked in grease. Go elsewhere. Overall this hotel is a complete waste of time and money. Far below the rating it has given itself would recommend a well known popular hotel name as opposed to this mom and pop one. read more

My experience at the Quality Inn Near the Island Pigeon Forge was absolutely horrific. I will NEVER stay here again or recommend anyone else does. For starters the front desk staff are so rude and extremely dismissive with the most unpleasant attitudes especially Kristi. Aside from the terrible staff I had a very traumatizing encounter with a male staff worker walking in on my naked, fully exposed, vulnerable in the complete nude after just getting out of the shower. He walked in on me not once but TWICE. He did not knock, he did not announce himself as housekeeping or maintenance nor did he have any cleaning supplies or tools. I am a female who is 32 weeks (8 months pregnant). Not only was this humiliating but it was also so very frightening. We were told upon checking in NO ONE would be entering our room until we checked out due to the current Covid Policy in place to reduce so tact exposure. When I went to tell the office they were extremely rude and dismissive and Kristi held her hand up at my face indirectly telling me to be quiet but directly said "I am aware of your situation and it's being handled" she was not apologetic, comforting, not did she handle the situation in a professional manner. I asked if I could speak to a manager which should ALWAYS be on duty for these very circumstances and she said there wasn't one available until tomorrow and I'd have to come back then. I asked her if she could reach out to the manager because this was a serious problem and she told me she again that she wasn't going to do anything and I could come back tomorrow... I asked for the mans name to make sure he was staff to try to also file a formal complaint and she wouldn't disclose this information. I was wanting to make sure that it was in fact staff and not a random man off the street who I needed to call the police to file a formal police report to. Again she said "I will not give you his name" she kept telling me to stop talking about it and I needed to leave the lobby and come back tomorrow as guests where entering because she didn't want anyone to hear of this incident.... the manager the next day also did the same thing when I came to inform her of this situation. I wanted a full refund for the room after what happened and how poorly it was handled. The manager told me "mam you really need to stop talking about this we have guests coming in" she was so worried about THOSE guests hearing and taking care of them and the hotels image but she was dismissive of trying to do the right thing for me as a current paying guest who should feel safe and comfort in the room I am paying for. I shouldn't have to feel like I have to lock and deadbolt the door for my own security and safety. This is something that will forever haunt me. Every time I'd hear a linen cart pass by I'd jump out of fear it was going to happen a 3rd time. If you are a female or even with young children I do not recommend this hotel. It's not safe and you will not get the "QUALITY" service you deserve. It was definitely the worse experience I've ever had and I will never forget how mistreated I was and how it was handled. I'm sharing this so your wife, your daughter or children will never have to feel violated like I did during what I hoped would be a relaxing vacation. Do yourself a favor and stay ANYWHERE else but here. read more

What an awful experience we had with this hotel. It started off ok. Staff was not very friendly. Room was ok but definitely noisy and not the most up to date. Toilet was broken, shower was awful and not relaxing at all. We also had ants around near our door. Like others stated, rooms opened out to the outside, not the safest feeling. Very loud! We also had an issue with them over- charging us. Not helpful and actually rude when trying to get answers. Ended up having to go thru a huge ordeal to get our money back. The front desk actually hung up on me when I called to get answers. Awful customer service. My husband contacted corporate and apparently they're awful to, since they haven't responded to emails or calls. Do not deal with this company. Stick with a larger chain. Not what we are used to. We took our two children and my husband's parents up to Pigeon Forge for three days and two nights. We chose Shular Inn because it had great photos and reviews for the price. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed at the false advertising of the Inn. The photos that they post clearly were not the level of room that we received. I wouldn't say that it was a Roach Motel because it was pretty clean and, luckily, there was no signs of bedbugs. (We checked because there had been one report from some months back.) Our room was probably the worst. My inlaws had a connecting room to ours' which was nice, but we could see the disappointed looks on their faces when they actually got into the room because it was not like the photos that Shular posts. The bathroom in our room was super tiny. The shower head looked like it was from the early 1990s, the toilet would not flush without holding the handle down for approximately thirty seconds (which is a total pain), the towels were like sandpaper, the bathroom did not have any type of fan which made it hard to breathe in the enclosed area, the fridge (which wasn't very cool), coffee marker, and microwave were shoved into the closet, there were no easily assible plugs to charge electronics, the plug by the sink appeared to have caught on fire at some point and would not charge anything, the beds were not comfortable (we have experienced worse, but definitely better for even substantially less money),the table was shoved into the room with two chairs which made it hard to access one side of the bed, the breakfast area was located in a completely different building as was the outdoors pool, the indoor pool was too warm for our liking and had so much chlorine that it burned our skin, eyes, and nose, and oh, the afternoon day shift lady was not the devil but she was not personable. Also, our room was close to the main strip so it was very noisy because of the Parkway traffic. The vending machines on our floor did not work. They just kept telling us to make a different selection no matter what we chose. And my biggest gripe...THE WIFI DIDNT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, I feel bad nitpicking all that stuff, so here is what we noticed was good about it. There was a mini fridge, microwave, coffee marker, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, working TV/remote, and clean looking linens. The rooms connected. The best part about the entire stay was the fact that the breakfast lady actually had the breakfast area stocked at 7:00AM when it opened. They had good biscuits, pretty good sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, and sausage patties both days. They also had cereals, coffee, juice, water, bread items, and canned fruit salad. The facility was also right on the strip which did make it nice to walk to a few places. And, lastly, I did like how I could walk down to the windows on the third floor to look down to check and see if anyone was in the indoor pool instead of having to walk all the way down there. Maybe, I am just too picky, but I am accustomed to a much nicer room for the amount that we paid for these rooms. I feel that the Trivago rating actually had this place rated WAY to high. They gave it a score of 82/100 which should have been more like a 70/100 or less. Had I seen photos of real rooms, I would have stayed somewhere else. Even my daughter commented on how much nicer the bathroom in the breakfast area was that what we had. The only way that we would attempt this Inn again would be if they comped us another stay in the other building to see if it was better than what we had this time. Oh, and when we checked out, we did not receive a copy or receipt of our stay. It is still not showing up on the www.hotels.com site as a completed stay, so I am hoping that when they took my key cards back, they actually checked me out. I would have liked to have had a receipt and am hopeful that all is okay. Sincerely, One Unsatisfied Consumer;-( read more
