If you notice the older reviews are positive while closer to current and not good. Now I know why... I've stayed at this hotel several times over the last three years because I have a daughter in school at Carson Newman University. Until this week, we had always enjoyed staying here because the staff was friendly and it was convenient. Well what an opportunity "Lucas" missed to provide great customer service!! This week, planning our trip to visit our daughter, my wife booked a room on the night she was looking, rather than the. Gout we planned to stay. Honest mistake. When we contacted the hotel, there was no manager available and they'd have to get back to us - ok. Two days later we call back as the charge has processed through my card and spoke to Lucas, supposedly the asst manager who claims they cannot refund the money, even though we never checked in, because they were sold out. (Really? Easter Sunday we book at 2pm and you happen to sell out that night?) When we told him we'd stayed there before, he told us "no you've never stayed here before"! I know Quality Inn is a budget hotel/motel but they've never treated me like this. read more

Management was not just unaccommodating, but agressively and actively caused serious harm to me and my partner. We booked a room online thinking that the place had a fair number of good reviews on Google, but alas had not done our research properly. When we arrived very late in the evening, we requested a late check out. The night manager told us to ask in the morning, but the young woman at the desk (Ela) was unprofessional and rude about the concern and frustration we experienced as customers and heartless and cruel on a more personal level. When I had had enough of being told lies by what seemed to be a high school student who should be studying, not working a hotel desk, I requested to speak with the manager. A man came out claiming to be the owner who continued to verbally assault me and my partner and escalated at every step. He stepped between my partner and the exit in order to prevent our leaving when he was threatening to have "his friends" (local law enforcement) arrest for no cause. Do not ask these people for anything that is not exactly outlined as their responsibility as hoteliers under Tennessee law. They are bigotted, no good, and should not be able to operate under the franchise license they have acquired. This hotel is an absolute criminal enterprise. read more

Wow what a night. Heater made noise at 2:00 am and e turned off ... froze at 4:00am and left hotel 5:30 after warming up in our car. Reported but front desk did nothing. When and ate at Wale house because too early for breakfast. Called back manager at 12:30 pm and they were going to award .... 200 points wow... thanks. Absolutely no sorry about your experience ( cold ). Stay away it cost us double( meal, cold meds, sleep) of the room. read more

We were a part of a large group who stayed at the hotel for a local baseball tournament at Carson Newman University. In advance of the baseball tournament, our team staff had setup prearranged pricing for the rooms and the rooms were appropriately priced for the accommodations. Our room was on the second floor and contained two double beds, a microwave, refrigerator, small desk with a chair and a safety lock box. The room was very clean and was pleasantly up to date. The hotel does offer the standard hotel type breakfast to include eggs, sausage, biscuits, bagels and morning pastries. There were a number of local and fast food restaurants near by. The Quality Inn was only 8 miles and/or 15 minutes from Carson Newman University for those needing to be near the school. I would definitely recommend the hotel to my family and friends. read more

THE WORST! Wow. I got double charged, but just wait. I called about a double charge (that got addressed w/o an issue), and then it happens--they tell me I'm charged an extra fee because they "saw me on camera with a dog and found dog hair in my room." I didn't have a dog (or any animal), so naturally I'm perplexed. I plead my case, and yet they INSIST that they saw me on camera with a dog. It turns out that they thought my HUMAN CHILD was a dog. He's a normal 4-year old walking down the hall; nonetheless, they held their ground and no manager was on duty to reconcile this dispute. The woman I spoke with had the stankiest attitude about the situation: unwilling to hear my case, send me photos/video, anything. Okay. 1) You obviously don't clean your rooms well if you found dog hair because I didn't have a dog. Case and point. 2) Do you REALLY remember what I look like to match me with the video? 3) How rude to charge me the fee without telling me first. 4) MY FOUR YEAR OLD ISN'T A DOG! After 36 hours, I was issued a refund, but they couldn't even muster up the courage to call me to tell me they refunded the fee, thus leaving me stressing about the situation the entire time. I've never been treated with such a distrustful, disrespectful, and uncompromising attitude in my life. 0 out of 10. read more

The rooms have outside doors, but the rate was pretty cheap, the rooms clean, refrigerator, microwave, cable TV, bright and lovely art, a friendly desk worker, clean rooms, and I'd stay here again any time. It also looks like they have a continental breakfast. It's definitely a good spot if you're needing a break from a long drive. I've stayed in far worse rooms for far more money. read more

I stopped here on my way to Tri Cities in the middle of the night, like 1 am. I got a room at an ok price, was only literally going to sleep there. I didn't use tv, or anything, sleep and go. I left by 9 am. Was going to leave a decent review, but I looked at my cc charge after I left and there was an extra $34.95 charged!! I called the hotel and the front desk lady said, /oh, that's for a missing pillow'. I said I don't know anything about your missing pillow, I travel with my own, and I am also not a thief, and I asked for them to remove the charge. She said she couldn't, and could only if "you return the pillow"!!! Which I do not have...I asked to speak to a manager, she wouldn't let me, put me on hold and said she's sorry, you have to bring the pillow back because the maids reported it missing, and I was like what the heck? Please let me speak to a manager and she hung up on me!!!! I am a constant traveler and never have I been accused of doing anything like this and it is defamatory and wrong. I will NEVER stay here again. Watch your credit cards bills, people, I don't know how they can do this. I will be reporting also to AAA, Choice Hotels and Google and I will NEVER stay there again. And they were otherwise going to get a nice review. This was NOT cool. read more

Oh my goodness what a gem this was for a tired traveler. After traveling several hours on Thursday 9/27 I arrived around 10:30 PM to a friendly, efficient desk clerk. Then I go to my room and the online reviews I had read were spot on. It was sparkling clean. The bed was so clean and comfortable it smelled great! Also, it was very quiet. Got a good nights sleep and enjoyed the great water pressure in the shower all for 89.00 for a king sized room. I slept late so I missed breakfast, but read online that it is good as well. How can you beat this value. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. read more

This was a really nice Quality Inn. The room was clean and we slept great on the queen-sized beds. The breakfast was above average and consisted of hot items along with the usual cold items. Definitely a good option to choose if you are in need of a motel in this area. read more

This is a hidden gem. Found it looking for an overnight stay place for my church group. It's right off I-40 at an exit with lots of restaurants and other hotels, however, it's up a hill on the other side of the road so there's very little noise and light pollution. The rooms are nicely renovated, the staff is warm and friendly, and the breakfast was what you'd expect - waffles, cereal, and a few hot items. Rooms were large and comfortable with queen beds, refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, and coffee maker. Price was great and I'd definitely stay here again. read more

Stayed here two nights (once per week over two weeks) while on a work assignment. All I can say is WOW! My yearly tally is around 180 nights on the road and this is a diamond. Great staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds and a nice centralized location. No marble entry or flamingo feather pillows, but really nice hotel for not a lot of $$$. The room was very clean with everything you needed. There was a comfy bed, if you like yours soft and there were plenty of pillows. The pool was nice and relaxing. The breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast, nothing impressive. Overall, a nice stay and a place I would recommend to anyone traveling through. read more

We stayed there last night. It is older but appeared to be clean. I woke up at 2 am with a hard little bug crawling behind my ear. Yes! A bed bug. My mother found one in the lace of her gown. All the front desk lady could do was tell me it had been reported, insisted bed bugs aren't black (who can tell if they are dark brown or black in those circumstances?), she did give me back my $20.00 pet fee. I don't know if I will ever get back my peace of mind. read more

My husband and stayed there last night and could not have been more pleased. Very, very clean which is the most important to me and the room was very comfortable. Nice fresh air, no smell which is sometimes a problem. Nice complimentary breakfast, and very pleasant staff. Free wi-fi. I would recommend this place highly. read more

We've stayed here a half a dozen times without issues. Tonight, after driving 16 hrs we met they're "manager". She refused to honor the coupon attached to the Yelp listing without having it printed out and of course she had no way of helping us print it. OK, I've run into this scam before. When I questioned her about it she copped an attitude, cancelled our reservation and sent us packing. It should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway. We won't bring our business here again. These folks get righteous when there's a game in town and their rooms are booked. That same behavior won't help them during the off season. Beware, and bring your printer along. read more

Unclean, shoddy maintenance, terrible management. 1. Room LOOKED clean. Instead of being clean though the room was overwhelmed with thick, thick smells of air freshener. We had to leave the door open for over an hour to get the air breathable. 2. Maintenance was poor. For example: bathtub plug was laying to the side of the tub so there was just a big hole in the tub; ice bucket handle fell off as soon as it was touched, etc. 3. The worker who was supposed to be handling the continental breakfast parked himself in the middle of the breakfast room and entertained two visitors who took up two of the tables making space short for quests. We were fine but others were not so lucky. These were 3 big guys who were very LOUD and they were between most of the tables and the breakfast so people walked out and around to avoid walking between the TV and the men - which would have been rude. The breakfast was OK but the "egg patties" were inedible and lay in a puddle of grease? oil? 4. We were in non-smoking as were the people in the room next to us. They stood in their door-way and smoked, and smoked, and smoked. Smoke poured into our room so we closed the door and took our chances with the "air freshener." 5. It has a good location, convenient to the freeway and it was inexpensive but we will never stay there again. The quality wasn't there. We do not recommend this place. read more

We have stayed here a number of times and have always been very pleased. The rooms are always clean and have been refurbished somewhat recently. Nice spacious rooms. Clean bathrooms. Breakfast is much better than typical for a Quality Inn. Highly recommended. read more

We agonized over booking this hotel because some reviews were less than stellar BUT this one definitely received better recommendations than the cheaper (and close by) Super 8, so we decided to go for it. We booked two rooms adjoining because my 14 yr old refuses to be seen with us or tolerate our breathing and conversations. The price was decent enough that that didn't break the bank but enough that they can obviously pay staff to maintain the hotel. Rooms were very clean. Looked recently remodeled. No mold in the corners of the tub which is always encouraging. No stray hairs on floors or counter tops and no stains or marks on the carpet or bed cover. Beds were super comfy, I personally like a feather/down quilt so that was nice. 6 pillows on each bed from lumpy hard to nice and soft. Feather not cotton-ball soft. Cleaning crew super nice, gave extra shampoo and conditioner. Didn't use the coffee machine in the room, instead went and got it from reception where there was always fresh hot coffee ready to go. Breakfast was good/decent but there is also a Waffle House across the street - although its a good hike back up a steep hill if you choose to walk. Gas station close by. McDonalds also close. Overall a very decent nights sleep for a good price. Definitely would recommend and stay here again. We were in town for a funeral so have no reviews of closeness to attractions or travel time to Dollywood etc. only complaint is that we wanted the rooms connecting but adjacent was okay too. The hotel was fully booked when we stayed so we were happy to be side by side. read more

We stopped in here after being disappointed with a hotel in Knoxville and we were so happy with that decision! Very friendly staff, super clean rooms and the cookies in the lobby were awesome ;) The local pizza place delivered some pretty great food also! All the info for local food places including a menu for one was in the room which is always a plus for us when we don't want to venture out. Will definitely be looking for quality inns in the future to stay at! read more

I love this place! I stayed the night there recently with my sister. The mirrors were sooo clean (like seriously, if you ever stay there, make sure the bathroom door is truly open or your face will regret it.) It was quiet, the employees were wonderful, even the free breakfast was awesome! We were also delighted to discover that not only did they have a public laundry facility but a fitness room as well! With the quality of the stay and what all came included, it was well worth it. We will be returning. read more
