Glad I found this little gem of a store. Had an acu battery cable that came loose on my LED facial machine (I got it on Amazon via China and the machine is sturdy but connecting cables flimsy!) They fixed it in less than 20 min, Cost 25 $ which at first seemed kind of high but considering they have a lot of overhead and are super convenient and the service excellent I have zero complaints! Took my dogs for a quick walk around the block and when I returned it was already fixed- no wait time, no having to come back which is worth a lot. I was prepared to have to trod from store to store, trying to find someone who'd fix it. But first try was a winner! That cable connection looks a lot more sturdy now than the way it came from the manufacturer. My LED facial light machine works again. Had a quick pleasant chat with the guy who mans the cash register (very nice customer service experience!) ...and was on my way. It looks like they have a lot of hidden treasures for vintage electronics aficionados, such as turntables and other interesting gadgets. I'm glad stores like that exist. Last minute gig in LA and I needed to rent gear. Didn't have time to shop pricing so I booked with this place I've never used before. Prices were a little higher on the phone than what I normally pay but I just booked due to time. They contacted me the day before the gig thinking that I was supposed to pickup gear that day which was a little red flag. When arrived the next day the gentlemen looked around the shop for a sub then tells me he doesn't have what I booked. He said I could use a Mackie sub but if there's any damage he would charge me $1700. It took a while for him to figure out what to give me and when he rang me up was much more than originally quoted. I asked why so much and the price of the sub was DOUBLE what was quoted. The way I see it since they didn't have what I was promised should have gave it to me for the same price. So I took the deal and wasn't given any paperwork or terms. The day my associates were to return the gear I was a getting hassled on time even though the return was never explained to us. I was threatened to be charged extra days on the first call and I was called 3 times in 3 hours. Also I had bought other gear there and almost paid double from what I paid at GC the same day. When asking the guy about this he become defensive even though I could show him proof on his pricing. Granted, they have a lot of gear and it's good to see that much dj equipment in one place, I would still check pricing and don't expect great service. When I book another gig in LA, I think they would be a last resort for me. read more

Very, very sketchy dude. Brought in my vintage player for a new needle. Player subsequently started skipping and sounding like shit, so I brought it back in. He charged me again, made the skip go away, but the player never sounded the same again. Just had to order a new one to replace mine, which I loved. I'm not even bothering bringing it back, 'cause this guy is such a dick. I know the record repair options in town are limited, but save yourself the time and money. read more

Do not bring your electronics here. I spent over $400 having two turntables and one receiver repaired there. Out of all three -- only one turntable was actually fixed and it took weeks and weeks and weeks to get that. The receiver still required the same go-around I had brought it in for. The guy here is extremely rude. A couple of years ago there were limited choices where to taken your turntables for repair -- there are lots of choices now. Do not choose this one. read more

Needed my electronic keyboard repaired. Great service & prices. Very nice to deal with and they know their stuff!

Brought a used Denon AVR E300 down here because one of the channels suddenly dropped out. I think I paid about $200 for the unit. $85 later it was working again. Fix lasted for about 5 months before the problem suddenly recurred. Called back, guy wouldn't even open it back up for less than $35 and even then "made no promises". Not really passing judgement on this either way but fair to let you all know the full story. read more

3 years ago, I had some tonearm work done on a 1200. Very satisfied with the work completed. It was a bit pricey, but I was getting reimbursed from the eBay seller that sold me the turntable. STAY AWAY FROM THIS CALLOUS THIEF!!! Chances are if you've had any service done on your equipment, he has already ripped you off! I had just purchased my first set of used 1200s and mixer from another dj so I went to this shop to get a tune up on my decks, a couple of hinges on one plastic cover, a turntable bulb/light and a charger for my Vestax mixer. He initially said that my services would be around $150-$200 but then found other problems with my turntable and upon plugging my mixer discovered feedback and bleeding sounds. So I agreed to the repair of the newly discovered problems. When I went in to pick up my equipment, my bill came to $483.00!! Talk about taking advantage of an innocent newbie! I asked for an itemized receipt listing the breakdown and he initially declined, but I gave him the example of getting a car repair done and how the labor and parts are always listed. I was firm and wasn't going to leave until I got my itemized receipt, so he finally started trying to add up my bill. He asked me to come back for the break down but that would've given him plenty of time to make something up. So I gladly waited. He had trouble coming up with the itemization. Of course he did, because he is a FRAUD who inflated my bill! He makes up prices as he goes along and as he deems suitable for himself! After calculating the total, it turned out that he justified $18 in overcharges (I'm CERTAIN it was a lot more, but I couldn't prove it). He said, "fine if you want to cry about $18 dollars..." I said, "it's my hard earned money, and I should get a refund for overcharges!" He refused to refund me the $18 and demanded the issuance of store credit. So I HAD to use the $18 towards something else to not lose out on that money! A few days later, my mixer, which he supposedly fixed (and which I had just paid a ton of money getting serviced), had the SAME problem he claimed he fixed. I went in to show him the problem and he made a fuss, but swapped out the charger which I had purchased through him. Swapping the charger fixed the feedback noise but it didn't correct the bleeding. I figured since he swapped out the charger, that maybe he wasn't really trying to rip me off and was worth another try. He then informed (actually LIED) that the bleeding was a separate problem that he hadn't charged me for initially and said he would "take care of" me and said he would only charge me for the part and not for labor. Then minutes after when the tech had already started to dismantle my mixer, he said it would be $80. I said, "$80? for what!" He said, "$45 for the part and $35 for labor. You need your mixer today right?!" I reminded him, "But you just told me you weren't going to charge me for labor!" When I told him I couldn't pay that much, he dropped it to $70, then to $60. By that time I was really pissed and convinced he was just trying to burn me all along, so I asked them to put my mixer back together. He said, "We already started the work." I was standing there watching the tech so I knew they hadn't "started" but had just pulled it apart to pretend to inspect it. "Put my mixer back together", I said. Then he dropped the price to $55 and then down to the final price of $45. Really? Can you believe he started at $80 and dropped it all the way down to $45! It's obvious he was trying to burn me! Well like a silly little girl, desperate to get her mixer fixed that day for a gig, I said I would pay the $45! (I know, I know but I really needed my mixer fixed!). I asked for the technician to explain the problem and inform me of what needed to be replaced and the tech, like a robot, wouldn't speak and kept looking at Yoni for his command. Yoni had a fit and refused to allow the tech to explain the problem. Yoni instructed the tech to put my mixer back together (unfixed) and walked away in a very distressed manner. The nerve! I was so angry! I came home and plugged in my mixer only to learn that along with the bleeding sound I now had a new problem! The volume input level indicators were not working!!! This A-hole dismantled my mixer, didn't fix it, and broke something inside so that the input levels wouldn't work! I didn't even bother returning or calling him to complain, because the stress levels weren't worth it. Now I have to find someone else to fix what he never fixed and what he also broke. After venting about it to some DJ friends, they also described him as a shady guy who rips djs off! I'm reporting him to the BBB. Please save yourself the headache, high blood pressure, and potential postal behavior that can be triggered when dealing with this incompetent heartless thief! GO ANYWHERE BUT THERE! read more

After fixing the issues with the speed of play my record player was in same condition in which I gave it to them which is always good. Dude put on some great Soul music as I waited for him to go get my record player from the back. He explained the issue to me and the price was fair in my opinion. SHADY! Save your money and don't shop here!! This is unquestionably the worst customer service I have ever received. I bought two needles (stylus, cartridge and head plate) for turntables one of which did not work. When I attempted to return the needle, they were rude and defensive and would not replace or even test it. They said there is a 300% chance that their needles were not second hand. I never even suggested that anyone had used the needle before. I just said that the records I played with it skipped and crackled. Hmmm... read more

The technician does great work but be prepared to be pressured and swindled into paying for work you didn't come in for or buying product you don't want by the man up front running the show. In my case, he replaced my NEW just replaced RCA cables on my turntable that I never asked to be replaced with more "modern" ones, cut a few bucks of the price of the cables and installation and tried to tell me I was getting a deal. ON CABLES I NEVER WANTED.. I went in for a tone arm adjustment. Been coming here for years and it's ALWAYS the same process. Time to find a new shop if you don't want the hassle. Or know your price points for EVERYTHING that concerns you BEFORE coming in and prepare yourself for the hard sell. Think of the experience here like going to a mechanics you don't trust entirely. I went to this place yesterday seeing as they looked like the only place in central LA to get parts for a technics turntable. I walked in and asked if they had the shaft that attaches to the turntable on/off knob. he got a little irritated and told me "that's one unit only". I asked how much it was and he asked a girl at the computer who was too busy to answer him. He impatiently asked if i wanted it or not and i asked again how much it was and he said 14.95. sounded a bit steep, but whatever. so i pay for it and later i decide to see if they have a website. they do as it turns out and i discover that the part is listed on the website for 11.95. not only that but it says on their policy that i can negotiate for a lower price. i find that rather annoying that A) you're expected to haggle at place of retail and B) there is no sign inside the store suggests you to do so. this isn't a flea market, it's a legitimate business. anyway, i wouldn't recommend this place unless you absolutely need something that only they have and if you do, don't forget to lowball them read more

I am not a DJ and only visited this shop to get my turntable repaired. The left channel was out on my vintage Philips 212 turntable. Audio Specialist in Studio City wouldn't even look at it - they said it wouldn't be worth it and they'd charge me 100 bucks just to take a peek. All I can say is this: for 85 bucks, Quality Electronics fixed it in only a couple of days. I'm thrilled to have this working again and think that the price is fair for this kind of expertise. I've had a few turntables repaired there too and they've always done the job quickly and I've never had a problem. This shop knows their stuff. I had a broken remote control door-opener that had been discontinued, so it would mean investing in a whole new mag-lock security system to be able to open the door to my business without having to walk over to the door up to 10 times an hour!! Rick at Tashman Hardware actually suggested I walk 2 doors down and see if Quality would consider taking a look at repairing the tiny circuit board and battery attachment inside the 3 inch square remote. I knew this small job was way under their skill set as repairers of DJ equipment but figured I would give them a try before spending a ton of money replacing an entire system so my customers could get in. They didn't make any promises, but 2 days later they called me saying it was like new!! I think they took tiny parts from other used pieces and made my discontinued and broken trinary remote like new again! And at a more than fair price, I couldn't be happier. For 31 years this shop has been the neighborhood go-to place for both audio equipment and repairs. Yanni and his staff are fast and reasonable. They fixed two malfunctioning portable players of mine and then when I took them back due to static caused by dirt they cleaned them without charging me. Many places charge through the roof and the turnaround can be a month or more. Here it is usually a few days or at the very most a little over a week. read more

I'm a music producer and songwriter based in L.A.. I ran into Yoni (the owner of QE) at a Hollywood electronics shop two days ago and he overheard my conversation about needing a jack to fix my favorite old power amp. The Hollywood electronics shop couldn't help me, but Yoni invited me to stop by his store, Quality Electronics, to see if they had a part that could help fix my unit. I stopped by QE the next day and Yoni and his tech found the correct (and obscure) part within two minutes and sold it to me for a few bucks. I took it home, soldered in the jack and fixed the unit. Yoni didn't pressure me to have the unit fixed at QE--he was very fair, generous and a straight-shooter. I since learned that he is the go-to guy for pro audio gear and repairs, as well. I'm now a loyal QE customer and I encourage everyone else to see them for repairs, DJ equipment and other pro audio gear. I never knew a thing about Yoni or QE a few days ago, but he did me a solid and deserves this A+++ review. I RARELY take minutes out of my busy day to write crap like this, but Yoni and QE more than earned this. read more

NEVER go to this place. Took it in to get a simple wire repaired. Took almost a week longer to get fixed than originally stated, they made repairs that weren't asked for, ended up charging about 3 x the original quote... The owner was very pushy, not friendly at all. For about 180 dollars and 3 trips to the store, we have a record player that plays so-so, some days it works well and others it is a nightmare.
