Lots of apples.
Inverleith F.

So I had to take a detour due to some traffic stoppage on 880 and lucky me, Quality was open! I went in looking for the apple fritter and instead got an apple filled bear claw. They were out of fritters but is even better! The dough is very light and their apple filling must be homemade or of a very high quality because of the flavor of the apples. They are just tart enough and have some al denteness to them. I'm trying to watch my weight so I ate about half but oh man did I want to devour the whole thing. Please stop and support this hole in the wall business. Easy to park right in front and I would say the price is reasonable. $3 for this huge bear claw.

Fresh traditional donut shop along a busy section of Edwards. Kind of a hole in wall look from the outside...inside is really clean. Ordered donut holes that did not disappoint. Very reasonably priced and everything looked good.

I've driven past this place for the last 3 months on my way to work. I haven't stopped in because I'm usually just about on-time to work. However I was craving donuts as made a conscious effort to leave a little early to try this place out, also I had heard that this place had gotten broken into and robbed. Not cool for mom and pop places. I got there and my go to in the donut arena is usually jelly filled donuts and french crullers though a lot of places don't make/have them. The staff are sweet and nice. You can tell the early risers had already been in and they are were restocking the donut window. It's not a fancy place, but like they say, location is everything. The jelly donuts were huge, so I opted for two raspberry filled, a regular twist and sugar donute. Last minute decided on 1/2 donut holes cuz they were enormous. Since it was my first time there and a lot of the co-workers go there, she apparently gave me some extra donut holes. The donuts were fresh and the jelly was a good amount. Will be back.

I think it might've been a bit undercooked... I don't think I would try another one unfortunately. I think I would also stick with the sweet bakery items moving forward. I also ordered a lychee strawberry matcha milk tea (with the oat milk option) and I was pretty happy with that purchase. Overall, I wouldn't dock them more than a star for the underwhelming pastry because most of the others are excellent. It might just be that savory isn't their thing...

I'm giving 2 stars because of the brunch food. Just an FYI…read moreI'm a vegetarian and I'm in the process of cutting out all animal products, therefore, I'm trying out vegan spots and cook a lot of vegan food. I also ended up taking my sister so she could see what vegan food is about. 1. My sister had the breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was an absolute texture nightmare, the coconut rice was gross and mushy, the tofu was completely bland, the random spicy curry sauce was unblended & completely overpowered everything. Just really one of the worst burritos I've had in my life. She couldn't get past two bites before throwing it out. I also bit it, and I agree with everything my sister said. 2. I got the tempeh reuben sandwich and it was equally bad with bland soggy fries. It was edible and I finished half of the sandwich with a ton of hot sauce but I threw out the other half. I legitimately could not finish it. I think king oyster mushrooms would be a better substitute for the "bacon". 3. The donuts are AMAZING & deserve to stand alone. The lemon one was absolutely incredible. If I would've only purchased the donuts I would've given Donut farm 5 stars. There's a price range from $3.00, $3.50, $4.00, and $4.50. I think they're reasonable prices for how good they were. The only one that was okay was the chocolate coconut. In conclusion, the food needs a lot of work. I know this is a small business, but please taste the food that comes out . The sandwich was $18 and the burrito was $16. I never complain about the prices from small business owners because I love to support but it was expensive for the quality of food I received. The service was also okay, it felt like everyone was stressed lol, I'm not complaining bc I know we all have our days but this was my first time at Donut Farm and I wish my experience would've been more pleasant so I'd be willing to give it another chance.

Why the HELL have I never been here?!…read more for starters, I have a really bad gluten sensitivity, and finding a place like this feels like an oasis. I'm talking baguettes and sh*t. But then that's not all. They have an entire menu that you can dive into and munch on if you are just looking for a quick bite. What the f*ck Mariposa, hell yeah!

Lots of baked treats to choose from and an appetizing menu of hot food items and beverages. This past Saturday, I went with the bacon olive & cheese spiral and mariposa mcbiscuit with bacon. The pastry was warm and fluffy, and full of flavor. And that breakfast sandwich was made perfectly and so satisfying with the light buttery biscuit, gooey melted cheese, thick scrambled egg patty, and crispy savory bacon. A couple weeks ago, I had picked up a pre-packaged set of chocolate chip cookies here as well and was concerned about a nut allergy, as they do serve almonds in some of their products at this facility. But the worker assured me thay they clean everything out between cooking the nut-free products, making me feel more comfortable and appreciative of this place.

They are located right off of Telegraph and 51st Street, right across from the Children's Hospital of Oakland. Though they do most of their sales outside (rain or shine), they know just how to impress the right people -- and one of those people would have to include me because their pies really took me to a different level of pie appreciation. We went on a Friday morning (keep in mind they are closed Monday through Wednesday, so plan accordingly when you want to go buy these pies), and while the lines were a bit long, the line wasn't too bad, and they went rather quick. Me and my friend got the banana cream pie, and the key lime pie. I love how tart the pies were -- the banana cream was so layered, made with actual banana and it was topped with another layer of cream and chocolate covering. All in all, $7 a slice for a piece of pie is not bad at all, especially if they were made by food artisans who knew their craft. Ambiance is rather good, and not underwhelming at all. This place IS worth the hype forsure xD I'm definitely recommending Bakesale Betty to any and all friends who want to try this :)) till we meet again!!

Everything is vegan. First, the servings are big. And at these prices! And it's not just big but delish. Second, it's good food. Banh mi bread had a crisp crust and a satisfying chew. The fillings were generous, and flavors were well balanced. The pickles had a nice crunch, and the "meaty" parts were savory goodness. Would def get again. The summer rolls come 2 per order; using a bit of lettuce of separate them was a nice touch. Slightly preferred the savory "fish sauce" especially after I soaked the jalapeños in it. The peanut sauce was a little sweet for me so prolly would have enjoyed more with some chili sauce. The shredded pork was a fun, slightly bouncy texture. Also bought a lemongrass beef banh mi but didn't have room, so looking forward ti lunch tomorrow.

Yes, it's all vegan and yes, they've got all your sweet cravings covered. The classics are present of course, simple glazed and sprinkled little numbers that live up to the highest standards of childhood nostalgia, to more inventive flavors like matcha, blueberry, maple "bacon," or cookies and cream. Don't get me started on the apple fritters, which are the size of a dinner plate and loaded with soft, spiced apple chunks. It's hard to restrain yourself from ordering one of everything, especially because they really are cheaper by the dozen. Besides, when was the last time you had a bear claw? Or a maple bar? Or a Boston cream doughnut? Further complicating the final order is the incredibly kind owner, always at the counter, who's liable to throw in a free doughnut hole or two to reward such enthusiasm. Though it's impossible to resist the colorful magnetism of the front display, don't gloss over the other half of the shop's name. Soy-based gelato is made in house with rotating seasonal flavors, offered by the scoop or wedged into an outrageous doughnut sandwich assembly. I can only speak for the eggnog flavor which is of course long gone at this point, but I truly hope it makes an early come back. The flawlessly smooth, creamy texture is better than almost all prepacked options scooped out of a carton, and possibly one of the best in the bay. It may get overshadowed by the deep fried delights, but you won't regret topping off your treats with an extra frozen spoonful... Well, unless you've already eaten your weight in cinnamon twists. Not that I'd know anything about that.
