Seven months later, I called for a refill for Solontra rosacea cream and told they won't refill unless I came in for another office visit. In my experience, you only need to be seen once a year for rosacea. There is no reason to pay for another office visit. I was going to refer my daughter to Dr. Derrick for her rosacea, but now she is staying with her dermatologist and a once a year visit. Paragon derm lost 2 patients due to a money grab.

Dr. Robert Rosen and his staff are the best doctors I've ever needed…read more A few years ago, I had an unlucky streak with my skin--a skin tag on my neck kept breaking, I developed "hot tub folicilitis" after visiting my now late-grandparent's timeshare, and I needed someone to lance what the GP thought was an abscess, but Rosen's staff immediately recognized as a tumor. (Benign, thankfully!) At the time, I didn't have insurance--I was working 4 jobs to pay for my student loans and little else. Dr. Rosen and his team were very accommodating, waving a fee or two, and offering treatment options that were sensitive to risk vs cost. The rest of his staff was very caring, and quite good at what they do. I also appreciated that they all took the time to explain what they were doing and why, very clearly. I'm very thankful that I had access to treatment when I needed it, because of Dr. Rosen and his staff. If I still lived in the area, he would be my only choice of dermatologist.

I have plenty of freckles and have "a lot of moles" per my doctor during my visit at the Toms River office. My father, uncles, and my grandfather (mom's side) all have been diagnosed with multiple cases of malignant melanoma. So, I am approaching 30 and want to stay on top of this. My first ever full body exam lasted less than 1 minute, and I wasn't even able to ask a question before the doctor ran out the door (I have plenty). Granted, I pointed at a few spots that she looked at (or didn't tbh) and said they were just moles (hopefully they are), but I mean, come on. Really all she said to me was come back every year. I am not coming back to that office lol. I waited 3 months for that exam and 45 minutes in the waiting room for maybe 1 minute of her time. Yes they were busy, but schedule accordingly.

I had my very first skin cancer screening recently. First of all, the nurse practitioner was male…read more(A. Gefen) and yet I was not offered to have a female in the room with me. I'm not shy, but other patients may be. In this day and age, it's shocking not to be asked if one wants a female in the room during such an exam. Secondly, only about 75% (and that's generous) of my body was examined. I was seated on the exam table and was never asked to stand. Therefore, anything in contact with the exam table was not screened. In addition, I had on a bra, underwear, and paper gown. My shoulders and back (whatever was not covered by my bra) were examined, but not my chest, stomach, belly, upper legs, buttocks, and back of upper legs. A biopsy was taken, which was the only positive thing that came out of this screening. I called Accredited Dermatology three times (on three consecutive days) before a supervisor finally called me back. I was not offered a free follow-up screening (I'm in contact with my insurance company to see what can be done). Whether or not this nurse practitioner will be reprimanded or alerted to their failings, is beyond my knowledge. If I do return to AD, I will NOT see this NP. I do plan to go elsewhere for all future dermatological issues.

I got the impression that they weren't happy with me as it was my first time there. After waiting an hour, ten minutes, I asked the receptionist how long will it be since I had to go to work. She said a few more minutes. After an hour 20 minutes I was called. Met with a nice PA and was examined, took all but 5 minutes to tell me I needed a quick procedure. She was very nice and pleasant. She said go to the receptionist and schedule an appointment. So when I went to schedule the appointment, the receptionist said they will call me to schedule. I didn't mind as I was late for work... well, 3 weeks later, still no one from this office called me to schedule my procedure. Very, very disappointed as I had to wait a few weeks just to get an appointment. I won't follow up with them at this point. I don't recommend this office.
