Having your wisdom teeth yanked when you are 18 years old is no biggie, however, when you are over 40 years old, people look at your with a horrified and pained expression when you tell them you are having your wisdom teeth pulled. You start to hear horror stories: "I was so swollen and bruised" "I couldn't eat for a week" "I was spitting clots of blood" "I got a dry socket" Holy crap. But I had no choice. I had put it off for a year. I met the oral surgeon that my dentist referred me to and I hated him---brusque, arrogant attitude. No thanks Luckily, my friend's daughter had her wisdom teeth removed and I saw her daughter day after her procedure. She said "It wasn't too bad" My friend told me this particular oral surgeon was a great guy. I made my appointment with Dr. Colameo. He is everything I look for in a doctor. Smart, warm, easy to talk to with and a good sense of humor. Immediately put me at ease. I had my extraction done in office with IV anesthesia: Versed/Fentanyl and Diprivan. Another name for Diprivan is Propofol and it is jokingly referred to as Milk of Amnesia. And that's what I had: amnesia, no memories of anything painful or uncomfortable. I never heard any tooth cracking or felt any pulling. I woke up 40 minutes later and was in no pain at all. I was never swollen. I only ended up taking 5 Percocet out of the 24 I was prescribed. Five days after the procedure, I was able to eat normally again...until then I was eating soft food due to some mild discomfort over the extraction sites. The office staff is courteous and polite. None of my wisdom teeth were impacted so I imagine that helped my recovery. Dr. Colameo wrote me out of work for 3 days. I could have gone to Disney on Day 2. As you may know, any dentist can do Invisalign, they don't even need to be orthodontist. You want an orthodontist for this, and Dr. Liao is an orthodontist. Even though he went through 4 extra years of training.. he does not charge more than your dentist... but he does it better. Dr Lao gave us the best quote for Invisalign, and did not charge for the evaluation. I live far from his office, so the staff made it convenient to schedule to do a quick pick up our mouth trays when needed. It's worth the trip from the city, or the other direction. I'm a busy guy... and I appreciate that the front office values my time. I don't spend much time in the waiting room, and they process my insurance paperwork fast. My wife is in the home stretch with her treatment and couldn't be happier with her straight white teeth. I've been very hard on my teeth.. I've had 10 different dentists, orthodontists and oral surgeons poke around my mouth, of all different skill levels and they all left their mark. I originally came to Dr Liao because of his reputation as top Invisalign provider. I still use him now that I am finished. I live nowhere near his office, but I realize the value of my teeth and Dr Liao has helped make mine look their best. He is young, well trained and uses the newest techniques. You can trust in his skills.

From my last visited quote, I asked why the price went up and the staff said because of the pandemic.. really? is that a joke? but one of them mentioned they are busier than ever. They don't even have hand sanitizers available after filling out their mandatory covid forms with the same pen that is clipped to the clipboard and I had to ask for a hand sanitizer. This made me think about my safety and compared to other medical offices, and for a dentist where things are going in my mouth, I was concerned about the staff's hygiene practices and their care of customer's safety. In addition, I really disliked that we were discussing my financial situation, standing in front of a lobby over plexiglass, while other customers were listening about my procedures and price quote. The manager (Josephine?) was polite and tried to be accommodating but I just didn't feel right about their staff. I really felt unappreciated as a customer. 2 hours later, I went to another Invisalign provider and they gladly price match and I paid the whole procedure in full minus insurance coverage. They also had a ton of hand sanitizers available and they separated the new and used pens in front of their counters. My fiancé needs Invisalign as well and I might have her go to the other place with me as well.

Never heard a single word or received anything in the mail - until today when I received a phone call informing me that I am now being turned over to collections. This business is highly unprofessional and made zero to contact me or send me a bill. As a person who works in collections and bill collecting, this is no way to go about it and certainly reflects poorly on the business. However, Dr. Genuth told me I needed an implant which costs an additional $2,888 plus the 3% credit card fee. This is where the problem begins. They have you pay before they do any work. So, if they cannot perform the work as anticipated getting your money back including the credit card fee is a major hassle. When my procedure was over, I asked for the $2,888 to be credited back to my credit card. I was told it would take a few days. It has been 4 days and 10 phone calls and still no credit. To make things worse I was informed the 3% credit card fee would NOT be refunded. This is illegal! When I informed the billing department, they were not aware of this and told me I was just getting a credit of $2,888. Any credit card fee that is greater than the fee the business pays is illegal. In summary be very careful that you do not get over charged.

This filling covered a nerve and anyone who knows what dental pain feels like knows that is something that needs to be taken care of immediately. so I call first thing in the morning just to be put on hold twice by the Manager Maria and then finally told I have to wait until Monday!!!! They also create a situation where other patients in the waiting room talk negatively to me. I asked to speak to the Dr who doesn't even take a moment to talk to me. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
