Today my mom and I had our first appointment with Dr. Dalco. It was one of the worst dental experiences we've ever had. We booked after checking reviews and confirming our insurance was accepted. We arrived on time and started our paperwork when they took us in. The beginning was great the staff who took our X-rays was very nice, gentle, and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. He was especially patient with my mom, whose first language is not English. The experience went downhill during the rest of the visit. While waiting for the dentist, we were put in separate consult rooms to finish consent forms. I was able to finish mine, but my mom needed more time. The dental hygienist, Effie, continually raised her voice at my mom as if she were a child, pressuring her to finish signing. I could hear all of this couple of rooms down. That attitude continued with both of us. My cleaning was the most painful I've ever had. My gums and teeth hurt severely from the sensitivity and aggressive scraping. I expected some discomfort, but not this much pain and bleeding. Throughout it, she was giving me instructions in a condescending tone, as if I were a child, while I was in obvious pain. During the cleaning, water and blood ran down my neck and splashed on my face and clothes. She would wipe it, but only after it had already reached my clothes. When she finished, she just handed me a cup of Listerine and walked out. She did not check-in, no aftercare instructions about when I could eat or what to avoid. She also told me to floss and then immediately asked if I even knew what flossing was. It was highly unprofessional and rude. Even if she was having a bad day, she should not be treating with patients like that. Neither my mom nor I were ever disrespectful to her. No one on staff intervened despite her raising her voice at my mom multiple times. Dr. Dalco herself only did a quick, couple-minute check-up, which was fine, and the X-ray staff was wonderful which is why this is not a one-star review. However, we will not be returning. No one deserves to be treated like that. read more

I had a tooth situation last night where a filling came out while I was brushing my teeth. Long story short I feel like i was treated weird and a little prejudice I don't know maybe Nike shorts with a Nike tech sweater with crocs isn't good to wear at dentist appointment Horrible horrible horrible!!! I came in here for dental appointment with my fiancé, they assisted my fiancé first and did x-rays and cleaning and I was booked first with an appointment but after inspecting insurances they called my fiancé in first I was then left in the waiting room for 1 hour we came in at 9:30am. While waiting I can hear them speaking about me saying they won't do cleaning for me. When my name is called at around 11am they tell me they will only do x rays I said if I'm not doing everything today I don't want to do anything. The nurse who called me in went to speak to the front desk the other nurse comes in (the one who was saying out loud that she won't be cleaning my teeth try's to convince me that I should do X-rays and come another day for cleaning) I told her no I'm not wasting another day when I can do both the same day and I got here early. My fiancé came in same time as me and she got a full service so I should too. They proceeded to tell me I booked an appointment for consultation but me and my wife booked the appointment together through zocdoc for the same reasoning. read more

I'm giving her my insurance and she's asking me questions i don't have the answers to, i give her my member ID and she states she cannot find anything. Every other dental office i've called have had no issues. Clearly someone who doesn't want to do her job. Receptionist over the phone is very condescending and gave the impression that they do not want to be bothered, when all I wanted was to set up an appointment. They are the front of the practice and they speak to customers like that - not good for the business. I went for my appointment and the dental hygienist was trying to convince me to get an oral cancer screening and pay extra when all I wanted was a regular cleaning. So I went in for an orthodontic consult; I need rings removed from old treatment from 11 years ago. Dr. G refused to even consider me for treatment because he reiterated the same rhetoric I encountered 11 years ago when trying to remove the rings; ie I need a letter from the original orthodontist basically allowing another dr to remove the rings. So I became upset and walked out.. I was on hold with customer service for 41 minutes the next day before I gave up, no way can I recommend this business. read more

Absolutely not. This is basically like a scam business. The staff appear to be prepped on obtaining the most information out of you in order for them to bill you for services you don't actually need. If you start discussing pricing beforehand it's almost like they are trying to keep it concealed. I literally feel like they are submitting false dental claims and should come under siege. I would not have even attempted to proceed with my appointment because I noticed every time I go their office, they try to bill my insurance over $1000 dollars and then expect for me to still come out of pocket $400-$600 bucks which is bogus. Claims for all bogus treatment, I do not even need. Be very weary and the doctor herself & some of her staff are very condescending. Almost like they have a scolding approach towards you. I feel as if the business must be doing bad if you are trying to max out your clients benefits on 1 visit. That's insane. read more

They cancelled my father in laws root canal 30 minutes before the work was supposed to be done. since he was in a lot of pain, they asked him to go somewhere else. So we did but required a referral due to insurance requirement. We called them to get the referral and the lady in the front desk seemed like she didn't care about the patient and said doctor was on vacation so they couldn't send the referral until he came back from vacation! We explained that they cancelled on the patient and sent us to another dentist, yet she was unfazed. Didn't care and told us she couldn't help us and ended the call. This has been the worst experience for me with a dentist. If I could I would give them no stars... -*. I came here as an emergency because my dentist was on vacation, but due to the fact that my insurance was going to be terminate, I got stuck with them cause all the services were already approved with them..... I needed three crowns. Always a conflict with scheduling, if Dr. decide she wants to leave early they are calling patients to come in earlier like if the patient does not work or have any other schedules in their life so they just automatically cancel your appointment if you can't come at the time they want you to when you already have an appointment set three weeks in advance. Also one of my crowns cracked three days later of just being put in. I had to wait another month for another crown just got the crown done two days ago and again it cracked. Horrible service will not recommend anybody to come here. read more

worst experience ever!!! I went here only because they were on my plan...I won't be going back. My dentist of 30 years retired during the pandemic. I went with my daughter who was told that she should see the oral surgeon because her wisdom teeth were not fully in and she being a general dentist, did not have expertise to know if they were ok...seriously? They were not causing her a problem btw... Today, I finally got my own appointment and they insisted on x-rays. It was extremely uncomfortable and the technician did not place it correctly in my mouth. After taking half the X-rays, the positioning was so uncomfortable I was on the verge of gagging and it was painful. I told her I could not hold it in place and refused any more X-rays. The office manager came in to see what the problem was. I explained and was told the dentist would not be able to diagnose me without the complete X-ray panel but she would see what could be done. She returned a few minutes later. The dentist refused to see me and they would not let me see the hygienist either. Never have I been treated so shabbily and never have I been forced to have X-rays. This was outrageous. I won't be back and made sure Horizon Dental Choice knew what kind of dentists they have on their panel. They are all about money here. Go elsewhere read more

I went here originally as a walk in emergency in mid-2016 when my tooth broke, after calling every dentist on my insurance list (only to be told by every dentist on my list that they would not be able to take me because of insurance changes and did not have any availability). I called them on a friday afternoon (same day as when my tooth broke that morning) panicked and frustrated and the girl said to come in a half hour, I zoomed to the office and within an hour my tooth was fixed. They told me what to do with my insurance and that was that, no surprise charges, friendly customer service, and the dentist is amazing. After this emergency visit, I changed dentists and have been going here ever since. The front desk employees are amazing and friendly, they talk to you like you're an actual PERSON. The staff are very friendly and very skilled. Highly recommend!! read more

I switched to having Great Expressions as my DMO and then had to wait forever to get my long overdue dental work done because of the Corona virus. I have had multiple visits and have spent quite a bit of time in the chair, and I have to say that I am so pleased at my luck at having found this practice. First, I believe that I am safe from virus transmission in their office. All safety protocols are adhered to, and they never let down in that regard. Dr. Shabahat and her dental assistant have been incredible: empathetic, caring, and highly skilled. I can't tell you how impressed I am with them, my dental hygienist, and the front office staff. Given that everyone must wear masks, you'd think you'd feel less welcomed or comfortable, but it hasn't been that way. I look forward to the day when I can see their faces instead of just the other way around. In the meantime my oral/dental health has been vastly improved. read more

Before you have them do anything, double check yourself with your insurance if you're over your limitations because they will not. They'll happily except you as a patient but if you over your insurance limitations they happily come back to you to collect the money even ( like in my case) 6 months later. I see a lot of bad ratings and i'm here trying to figure out why. I stopped in here for the first time yesterday and the visit was VERY pleasant. From the first phone call, to actually meeting everyone in person, They were polite and had exceptional customer service skills (and being a business owner, i'm pretty big on that). Cathy started doing a deep cleaning on my teeth and had me at ease every step of the way, Even though some areas stared to hurt (Which is normal), she joked about it, made me laugh and we moved right along. I told her after, I would love to leave a review. I don't have her name off hand, but the the lady that took the x-rays and the 3 front receptionist were all polite and vibrant. The dentist will try to scam you into things you do not need, the receptionists are disorganized and will call you over and over again because they scheduled you when they were not supposed to, and, worst of all, you will leave with dirty teeth because the dental hygienist is too busy talking to do her job correctly. The sign on the window of the office clearly states: Emergencies and Walk-Ins Welcomed. We arrived 10 minutes after opening at 10am. I explained to the receptionist that my husband was in severe pain. The receptionist replied that he would NOT be able to be seen as the office was booked. I replied, "so you don't take emergencies or walk-ins." She stated that they only see emergencies and walk-ins if they have available appointments. There was not even a drop of compassion in her voice. I asked if she could recommend a dentist who could see us. She stated she didn't live around here and couldn't help us. We left, and took a chance stopping by a local dentist. The receptionist was compassionate to our needs and had us wait to see the doctor who took care of us immediately. I changed to this dentist because of insurance. I liked the fact that they took adults as well as children. I scheduled an appointment for my children and myself. Within the month That I had to wait for my appointment they must have called me 6 times to either reschedule my appointment or try to get me in sooner. Mind you I haven't even seen them once. Put a bad taste in my mouth. I gave them a chance and finally went. Dentist wanted to replace 3 of my fillings. I had never missed an appointment in 6 months. My other two dentists felt my fillings were fine. The last straw was when I got a call two days before my kids' appointment. They called to cancel and reschedule. The pediatric dentist is only there 2 times a month !!!!! This means I would have to wait 2 months to get them in. Done with this place!! read more

The lady that did my cleaning was friendly and she informed me everything she was doing. But the actual dentist was rude and condescending. She walked in the room after my X-rays and didn't even introduce herself. She asked me about a tooth that "broke off" before she even looked in my mouth.. but I didn't have any broken teeth in my mouth. Just that wisdom tooth was an issue. Next thing you know she's telling me she has to redo my old root canal, root canal on another tooth and 5 fillings. She ended up not even being able to do anything with the wisdom tooth and sent me to an oral surgeon. After he did the extraction I asked him to look at my ex rays and tell me if I needed all that work done. He said absolutely not. Just one other tooth that was borderline root canal but could still be saved. Also, when she was telling me what needed to be done, she said she would start with the fillings, probably so I'd end up going over my limit on my insurance and paying full price for the root canals I didn't need. I left there with a very bad feeling. Dentist has a very bad energy. Stay away. read more

Please be aware before going to this office....I had an appointment today and spoke to them last night to confirm they took my insurance which they told me they did and that they would call my insurance to get everything they needed for my appointment. I got there and asked if everything was okay insurance wise and they said of course, they even made my husband an appointment using our insurance. I get into the room and right before the dentist started the receptionist came in all cheery to asking me to quickly sign my bill for my crown, $455 today and then I would receive another bill for over $500 my next visit, I kept saying I don't understand I have insurance. He continues to tell me the insurance would not cover a crown but not to worry they were giving me a discounted rate (like I should be grateful for their 1,000 discount)...I said why didn't you tell me this in the waiting room..You wait until I'm in the chair. So I stopped the dentist (who knew at this point they were caught bc she ran out like a little coward) I called my insurance who told me they absolutely cover crowns, I should only pay 100 today and also that they never received anything from that office about my visit...even though he showed me a made up paper saying insurance denied! Then he stutters saying "oh oops we don't take your insurance "...I was in shock about how they blatantly lied making up a story about calling my insurance...saying multiple times they took my insuance...I have never seen such a shady disgusting business. Please do not give them business as they are attempting to do this to people. No one even denied it was a scam when I called them out. I felt terrible for the elderly couple in the waiting room bc who knows what they would stealing from them. read more

Another assistant put a plastic suction equipment directly on my gum. It really hurt; worse- I developed a mouth ulcer in that area 2 days later. read more

So far, I love this place! I first went with my son for our regular check-ups/cleaning, and dentists near our home didn't take my insurance. Got there, and knew I'd be a return customer. Between cleanings, fillings and referred for a root canal, they've always do what they can to help. The front desk admins are amazing and always have a great attitude when I call. Because I've needed work often this year they know me by name, and always help comfort my baby while I get my work done. I'm surprised at the negative reviews from others because they've fought my insurance to get them to pay for certain things they try not to cover. They try to save me as much out of pocket expenses as possible. My new insurance offers places closer to me, but I prefer making the 30 min drive to Shabahat. she's awesome, and so is the staff. They will definitely be getting a holiday gift delivered from us this year. They deserve it. read more

I went here because they took my insurance. Dentists themselves are fine. Billing people are inadequate. I felt like I was being overcharged but was talked down to and told that the charges were what they were. Come to find out my insurance confirmed I was indeed overcharged. I was told by the billing people that I would have to wait until my insurance issued the check then wait for them to refund me. They owed me over $300. Why should I have to wait? They made the mistake. Never apologized. What if I wasn't persistent? Would they have just kept my $300+ for a rainy day. I had been warned about this place by a former employee. They were right. After that they gave me a pre-estimate amounting to hundreds of dollars. I told them I have 100% dental coverage. They said but this is using better material than your insurance covers!! I said I will stick to what my insurance covers. They sent in a pre-estimate then told me that I should upgrade to a better material and pay $400 more!! She performed procedures on me without me knowing to come to find out at the end they weren't covered under my insurance. She lied to every worker and said she made me aware of this when she did NOT. I feel so violated. I went in for a general cleaning came out with an "irrigation" and gum maintenance. I am 30 years old, why on earth would I want to have a gum procedure done.
