I just need to make it known that Quality Bus Service LLC​ is the absolute worst bus company out there for any child to take. Inconsistent pickup times and dropoff times, inconsistent drivers, new monitors every week, NEVER call us to let us know the bus is late or early. Piss poor customer service, and the people that answer the phones are rude as hell. The worst part (At least in my case)? They're dealing with children that have special needs. These kids need consistency. My little brother was picked up AN HOUR EARLY to go to his preschool moving up ceremony because Quality Bus gave the driver the WRONG TIMES. And so, my brother and all the other kids on the bus were waiting for an hour before all the other kids arrived. If it wasn't for the school staff bringing them into the building, they would have had to sit inside of that bus in over 80 degree heat and that bus AC doesn't hardly do anything when it's sitting in the hot sun and roasting. Oh, I forgot to mention, good luck finding your kid when this bus company runs late. They had me on hold for over ten minutes trying to get in touch with the driver to find out where my little brother was. When they finally got back to me, they said it would be five minutes... five minutes came and went, and when I called back, I was told the same thing. This happened about three more times before I demanded they give me an accurate time and location for where this driver was with my brother. Seriously the worst bus company to use for little kids. Any bus company would be better than Quality Bus. They don't even deserve one star. I gave them a break in the beginning because they were a new bus company, but it's been what? Two years now? Get it together.

We took the Metro-North Port Jervis train to get out of the city on Saturday and rode it up to the Tuxedo Train Station, and as soon as we got off the train, we saw the shuttle stand. It's actually inside the old train station, near the platform. The volunteer bus riders suggested the best trail for us (we had our dog and wanted to do an overnight, but didn't want to hike too far.) We ended up going on the red trail and staying at one of the old shelters and then catching the bus back on Sunday morning. There were a few other campers there the night we went but it didn't matter and it was a quality evening. The bus is reasonable (5/per person) and leaves right on time, the only dowside is the shelters aren't right on the water so you have to bring your own drinking water if you're staying overnight. But I might come back and just ride the bus through the park. It's really pretty and I take a lot of pictures, especially in the fall, and Harriman is really exceptional once the leaves start turning color. Until this shuttle started I had no idea how big Harriman park is but now I know. You can pick up trail maps right at the train station if you go on the weekend. There's also a large farmers market right in the parking lot when you get off the train so we brought peaches and apricots on the hike.
