Best donuts and pastries I've had in a long time. Came in around noon and got a glazed donut, enjoyed it before I got a picture, a chocolate frosted donut, cinnamon roll, and the cream cheese roll/Danish, eight bucks for everything. Everything was perfect, not a single thing was dry. The cinnamon roll had the perfect balance between cinnamon and sweetness. The cream Cheese Roll or Danish, I can't remember what the sweet lady working the counter called it, was the size of my hand and was amazing. As a donut connoisseur these were the best raised donuts I've ever had from a mom & pop store. It can be a little hard to miss the store since they're tucked away and don't have a super big sign but the green awing gives them away. Also, it's the perfect spot to grab some donuts or rolls before getting coffee from Coast Roast. read more

I'd read about this place because I was hoping to pick up a king cake before I got into New Orleans. It's in a cute little strip in what might be downtown? At any rate, I wasn't impressed with the selection, and I was there plenty early. There were other customers in at the time and they were buying a ton of stuff, and that made me a little bit more optimistic. Plus there were stacks and stacks of king cakes with signs that said "sold" so I decided to stick it out and see what was going on. I was hungry, but nothing looked appetizing. There was a pan of cinnamon rolls that was like totally burnt at the bottom and it looked like someone had just rummaged through the middle of the pan...I've never seen anything like it before. Hard pass on that. On to the King Cake. Looked and smelled delicious. Twenty bucks for a cream cheese filled cake. First bite though...total disappointment. The cake was fine in terms of texture, but totally devoid of flavor. No vanilla, no cinnamon no nothing. If this is the best the area has to offer...smh. read more

My favorite bakery on all the coast! The employees are beyond friendly and the food is excellent. The bakery has been open for over 70 years and is definitely a coast tradition. I purchased a cake for my mother's 80th birthday. My mother was a professional cake decorator for 40 years. I compare cakes to her work because she did beautiful work. The cake was picked up by may sister because I don't drive. The cake was not acceptable. My mother immediately started pointing out what was wrong with the cake. The super nice folks at Quality Bakery make doughnuts so dang good, it will make you want to quit your job and eat doughnuts for a living. The doughnuts are so good, and the owners are so nice, that if they asked you wash their cars, clean their windows and cut their grass...you'd be asking "is that all??" They are THAT good. Visited this fine establishment today. The customer service was outstanding! Very friendly & welcoming. The treats there are delicious. I work at a well known donut shop in Ocean Springs, & I will say that the donuts at Quality Bakery are quite comparable. :) I will definitely be taking another trip over to downtown Gulfport just to visit this bakery & the awesome Coast Roast Coffee House next door. So when I was little we got all of our cakes here. Since I have a son now, I figured we'd do the same for him. The first year was amazing. We told them after that, that we would be repeat customers. The service & cakes went down hill from there. After bad service last year, I decided to give them another chance because of the history, well they totally shot for the stars & didn't even get close. Wow. I have never experienced such shockingly rude business owners. I went to Quality this morning to pick up brownies for a coworkers birthday. It was on my way to work so I thought I'd try it out. When I asked how the brownies were sold (as there was no sign or menu posted) she said they were a dollar each. I'm not cheap but I was surprised that these tiny (1.5 inch squares) were that expensive, so I said "wow, seriously?". They younger woman immediately got hostile and defensive, and went off about the cost of their "fudge base". I don't care. I was expressing an opinion. I still ordered 8 brownies and she asked if I wanted anything else. Me, still irritated at her reaction, said "not at prices like that". SHE FLIPPED OUT. Refused to sell to me and started complaining to the older woman about me. As all this is happening a police office walked in. The older woman then tells the police officer that "we have a major problem here".... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I told the officer sarcastically "oh yes, a customer complaining about a price is a huge problem" I then tried to explain that a customer giving their opinion should not garner such an attitude. I was asked to leave. No brownies. I reminded them that Yelp was a wonderful thing... As I was walking out the older lady screeched "we've been here for 67 years". It's sad that after all this area has lost, this is what remains. Just because you've been around doesn't mean your customers cease to matter or that you should stop listening to feedback. read more
