Binh is great. Trustworthy and honest. Will tell you what the car needs and what it doesn't. Doesn't try to sell you on extras. Always bring my cars to him. read more

Binh is my godparent's preferred mechanic when they took their 2006 Honda Pilot for services before handing the car to me. On October 5, 2015, I was due to take my uncle to the doctor's appointment; however, the engine was struggling and the whirring sound was getting violent. I immediately went to Pep Boys parking lot to seek assistance, only to find the Pilot's instrumental panel to be dead; and the car just stopped at the Pep Boys parking lot. I called Binh for assistance and he said that I better call a tow and he will order the parts for the car, he seems to figure that the alternator was poor. Towed to his shop around noon and he finished not too long ago. I thought it would take him probably a day to finish it, but he knows the Pilot and that he can get it quickly repaired so that I have a car to get to class. Thank Chu Binh! read more

this review is for my most recent experience. got my radiator replaced here for a great price. one star for the cheap price. too bad when i started driving my happy ass to school, i almost reach my destination.. and my temperature gauge goes ape$hit and the bar flies up towards the H (indicating that my car was about to overheat and smoke up). wow. the panic on my face was unreal. wish you all could have seen it. i get into my school parking lot, and the meter goes up even higher- i panic and shut my car off to give it time to cool off. i was thinking, "wtf is happening? didn't i JUST get my radiator replaced?" so, the drive back to the shop was quite a journey. had to literally SHUT down my car every few streets to make sure my car didn't explode on me. fun, right? WRONG. not fun on monterey road. so i get to the place they fix whatever the problem was in about an hour... the whole situation was quite unbelievable.. put so much hassle on me that day.. and i don't think the shop staff realized that.. hence not much sympathy or apologies.. oh well. some things you should get fixed at the dealership and some you shouldn't. read more

Got here and the guys were just chatting it up. Had to call out 3 times before anyone noticed me. Finally got someone's attention and they told me they had one oil change to do which will take 15 mins. I waited about 25 minutes then saw the car they worked on leave. Then they pulled another car in while I waited there first in line. Bullshit, 1 star for bullshit. read more

Finding a mechanic you trust is hard!: I was referred to this shop by a friend when I first moved up from southern California 6 years ago. Ever since then, QA is the first place I think of to go for when my car is giving me problems even though I have now moved a lot farther away (20 miles). The owner is very friendly, is straightforth, honest and knows his stuff. You can tell he's got his customer relationship management down. One time after calling him because my car was acting funny, he asked me a few questions told me that it was an easy problem and that I didn't need to take my car into him, and it was just my spark plugs and that my boyfriend could change them without any problems but if I wanted to take in the car that would be fine too. He SAVED me money!!! How about that for a trustworthy mechanic? read more

This place will not rip you off, my family has been coming here for 10+ years now. Binh is straight up and honest. I took a car that I was planning to buy here, and he strongly advised me not to get it due to the problems that car is known to get. I came here week ago and got my alternator replaced and my oil changed. His pricing is fair and he knows his stuff, forsure. If you're looking for a mechani, I strongly urge you to come here. Binh will answerall of your questions and tell you what NEEDS to be fixed. read more

Took my car here for the first time. A co-worker recommended this place and it has great Yelp review. It turned out that Ben is a real nice guy. He is very knowledge about what he is doing, he gave me honest opinions on my car and told me what should be taken care right now, and what is not so much to worry about. Very fair price for the work also, I will def. bring my cars here for services from now on. read more

Ben was super helpful when I brought my car in. My car had died on the 5s and on the recommendation of a friend I had it towed to Quality Autoworks. Ben diagnosed the problem as a broken/dying fuel pump and he replaced it within a few hours! Thanks to him I was able to make it down to socal that night. If I ever need work done again, I would not hesitate to take my car to him or recommend him to others. read more

I have been to two mechanics since I started driving . And Ben has been my family's mechanic for more than 10 years . His work is exceptional and his attitude is always more than welcoming . Compared to other quotes and mechanics Ben is worth the money . His work is amazing . I have not brought one car to him that he couldn't fix . Not to mention he doesn't charge ridiculous amounts for labor . My father (teo) loves going to Ben . He has been our top choice mechanic for more than a decade & I have no problem continuing to give him business . Thank you for all you do . read more

I have been coming here for almost 20 years. Ben is one of the most honest people I know. I have never had a single issue with his work.

Binh was recommended to my by a friend who has taken his cars to him for many years. Before going there, I had many bad experiences with being over charged and forced into doing things to my car that didn't really need to be done. Binh always takes his time to explain to me what is wrong with the car and will tell me if he thinks it's really worth spending money on fixing it or not. He will even find parts on amazon for me if it will save me money or he will just do a quick fix to get me by until i can afford to fix it. He doesn't charge you to check the car, you can just drop it off and he will call you and let you know what's wrong with it and give you options. I always feel like I'm taking my car to a trusted family friend. I am so glad I found this place and will never go anywhere else!! read more

My boyfriend was having issues with this 1998 Honda Accord. We didn't know what was wrong. So I told my boyfriend to call Bien and he actually was able to troubleshoot my boyfriend's car issue over the phone and we did as he told and it worked! Bien told my boyfriend after we did what he said if he had any other issue to just bring it in. My boyfriend didn't want to take any chances and brought his car in and it thank gosh turned out he needed a new battery and nothing else. Bien is a great mechanic and he can work his magic even if he isn't there. He is definitely the guy to go to for your car blues! read more

Family friend recommended Van to take a look at my car a few years ago after I was told that there was a laundry list of repairs that needed to be done on my car...I will say as a college student, it was hard to keep my car in good condition with needed repairs without paying a fortune. Luckily, I went and Van was honest from Day 1. He told me what needed to be done now and what I could wait on. After a year of going to him, he told me that my car would die within the next month from all the issues (told me it would be a waste to repair and get a new car). Sure enough , a month later it did. Finally got a new car, but I would never take my car anywhere else. I recommend him to all my friends and family. Amazing service! Affordable prices! Good honest Mechanics! read more

My car was leaking fluid and I was being quoted an outrageous amount at a shop closer to my home (they wanted me to pay $350 upfront for an engine steam clean, and then for the repairs on top fo that). My friend recommended that I call Binh. Binh gave me an informative assessment over the phone (probably a transmission fluid leak based on the color described) and I made an appointment for a few days later on the weekend. Binh let me come drop off my car right at shop opening (I had weekend plans!) and pick it up the next day. His explanation of services was detailed and reasonably priced, less than half the price I would have spent at the other shop for the whole repair. I have since recommended (read: forced) my boyfriend to change his brakes there, and Binh was really accommodating when we couldn't pick up the car at the promised time. It's a bit out of the way for me, but I will make the trip for an honest mechanic (never thought I would say that about a mechanic!). read more

We were so relieved to find an honest, fair, trustworthy, and knowledgeable mechanic in Ben at Quality Auto Works. We had brought a Honda Prelude to an alleged Honda expert who misdiagnosed the problem in the car. Ben correctly diagnosed the issue immediately and also made the repairs at a very fair and just rate. We will always return to this shop for any needed car repairs. We recommend this shop to everyone that we know. Ben is also very prompt and upfront about costs. We will always trust Ben with our car needs. read more

Pro: Ben is very friendly, knowledgeable, and he will tell you what needs to be done on your car w/o any charge. And, he won't rip you off, and his prices are very reasonable. Con: It's too small means it will take them 2 days to do major job on the car. read more

Here is my story: 4/15/11 (Friday), the engine stalled on the way home while I was driving. I had to pull over and tried many times, once it worked, but 99% or more I could not start the engine any more. I have no idea of the issue, so I called AAA (road service). This was the first time I had a road service, and I don't have any car repair contact info in the car, so I asked the tow truck to take it to my last oil change place (Made In Japan/US/Europe which is at Campbell) and dropped off the car. On Monday, Made In Japan/US/Europe called me and charged me more than $100 for a diagnosis, and they told me the distributor needs replacement which cost about 500 dollars. That is ridiculous for 94 Corolla (I bought it 2 years ago just $500). I have 2 choices: one is to donate the car, the other is to find a cheaper and reasonable price to fix that. If I didn't replace my battery and tires 2 months ago, or I have some finance issue due to low income, I would not bother fixing the car. Luckily One friend recommended me to Quality Autoworks, I am new to this repair store, so I tried to call several others and compare based on the feedback. From phone, Yelp comments, I made the decision to tow my car to their place to have a try. Ben is very honest and technical from several phone calls. I feel that I can get the car fixed around 200 bucks, that is within my budget. AAA did a good job to send my car to Ben's store. 2 days later, when I was in Gym, Ben called me: the car was ready, the cost is $160, he didn't replace the distributor, but found the root cause is broken coil, so replaced that. He said old car was not worth fixing everything. That is from customer's standpoint. From this experience, I learned 3 lessons: 1. Always keep a repair shop namecard in the car for emergency 2. Never pay money for pure diagnosis (like I did in Made In Japan/US/Europe) 3. Always call several repair stores for quote and comparison before towing I will trust Quality Autoworks and Ben, so I will keep their info in the car. I will not trust Made In Japan/US/Europe any more, their price was too high and they didn't provide the actual issue to you, but asked for much higher price (though it is AAA certified). read more

Quality Autoworks is a place you can trust. The owner is friendly and trustworthy. He won't rip you off and try to give you a list of things you need to do to your car that amount up to $300. He'll tell you what you need to know and won't make up imaginary problems. If you ask him if you should do this or that, he'll give you an honest opinion and not make stuff up just to drum up business. He's a good guy. Binh(?) was recommended to me by my sister who takes her vehicles there. My 04 Honda Civic (150K+ miles) went in for overheating. Of course, it ended up being a blown head gasket. Binh had the gasket repaired, water pump, timing belt and drive belt replaced.. He also took extra care and inspected my entire vehicle, checked fluid levels and all other functioning parts. I greatly appreciated his work ethic and that I didn't feel like he was forcing repairs on me. He is very quick and honest which is hard to find plus his prices are very competitive for the work he does. I will definitely bring my vehicle to him from now on. Thanks Binh!!!!! read more
