Tuan was kind enough to look at my car OUTSIDE of operating hours. Great reasonable prices, fixed my car in less than 30 minutes and sent me on my way. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. read more

This is not a fancy shop. When you pull in you might be put off by the chickens clucking on the other side of the fence. Tuan'w would be in business this long if he wasn't efficient, honest, fair, a great technician. He had a shop for 7 years at San Carlos and Leigh and has been at this location for 20 years. When ever we take our cars in, he he'll diagnose the problem and call with an estimate. His estimate is always on the mark or within a few dollars. Work is done when he says it will be done. Prices are fair and not jacked up like at a dealership. Please give him a try. read more

I called Tuan and told him I needed a new clutch. He asked me a few questions. And determined I didn't need a clutch, but a clutch slave cylinder. About a 5th of the price of a clutch. That's why I've been going to Tuan for 6 years, originally based upon a friend's recommendation. I'm happy to recommend him and have done so in the past. Tuan can diagnose a problem and fix it. He's honest, hardworking, and technically proficient. I agree 100% with the 9/7/2006 review. He always has the work done on time and his prices are honest. read more

Tuan, I love this man, i had been going to him for 10 years!!!! What people need to understand about him, is that he love OEM parts. Those who like aftermarket parts, might not be a fan of his shop. Tuan believe in fixing a car and making it last. As we all know it, most aftermarket parts are good but they don't last especially the EBAY knock off parts that people like to buy. You could bring your aftermarket parts for him to install, he'll install it but he'll tell you why he prefer OEM. He could smog, fix your auto, change your tires, and anything that you want him to do. He doesn't weld, but if you need to weld something, he'll refer it to a shop near by. Overall, he's fair and honest and it's hard to find that in a SPEEDE, MIDAS, or those quick in and out repair shops! If you want to fix your car and keep it fix, I highly recommend Tuan's Auto Tech!! read more

Great mechanic. Fast, honest, and even went the extra mile to help me remove a spark plug. He had the special tool and he didn't turn me down because of my situation. I am college student and he gave me a fair price and was ready the next morning! I would highly recommend this mechanic to anyone looking for someone reliable and stress free! 10/10 stars read more

I love Tuan!! You may miss this little gem if you blink your eyes, so don't! I love this man's honesty, efficiency, & great customer service. It appears he's a one man show, but whatever the case, he's all over his game! I usually place a call to him, make my request, get an estimate, & am in & out the next day! read more

Tuan is a rare auto mechanic.. He doesn't give you B$ and always lets you know that you can compare prices and his price will be the lowest, for sure. I've actually done it a couple of times with him, just to verify and he was correct. ;-) His work quality is AMAZING and he is an all-around nice guy.. Reasonable price + great quality + FAST service = My mechanic for life. Pay Tuan a visit when you're car has it's next problem.. You will not be disappointed. read more

Have continued to use Tuan for all my BMW service needs. Also, added my wife's Honda Civic. Tuan is the consummate professional. He is very knowledgeable about the vehicle. He is also very honest and reasonable in in his pricing. Having a very reliable, competent mechanic that Tuan is has proven to me over the many years. I use him exclusively for all repairs as well as the 3000 or 5000 miles service. He has all the electronic equipment that your vehicle needs for assessment and reseting service indicators. Tuan's Auto Tech is highly recommend by me for fast, efficient, and reasonably priced service for your auto needs. read more

I have been going to Tuan for more than 15 years now because he is just the best mechanic in San Jose, hands down. Monday, I called Tuan and got an appointment to get my vehicle checked and repaired if needed. Yesterday, Wednesday around 9 am, I brought my 2009 Toyota Highlander with more than 260,000 miles on it to Tuan's shop. I was hearing some noises from the front of the car and it wobbles when I brake. Tuan diagnosed the problem, replaced the front brakes, ball joints and shocks/struts, and aligned the front wheels. I picked up my car around 3 pm. Now it drives like its brand new although it already has more than 260,000 miles on it. read more

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I called in for a simple quote for a starter\battery on my car, his response was, "go get it checked out professionally and come to me." Uhm, last time I checked, that was why I called in. From the RUDE AF conversation, I know I won't be coming in here and giving this place a single penny. read more

I love Tuan! His service is fast and friendly and he saved me $100 which is really important to me since I am a student- I can't afford to get ripped off by sleezy mechanics! He is very honest, informative, and easy to understand. I do not understand anything about cars but he told me exactly what to look for and when to come back :) read more

I had an emergency on a recent Saturday and had to go down the yelp list to find someone open. The stars were with me. I have been searching for 2 years for this guy. No charge to evaluate my problem and give me advise, including what he refers out to others. He got my wife's wheels back on the road in two hours and gave me a list of deferred maintenance we needed. This was a couple of weeks ago. I have since taken my other two cars to him to get them all in great running order. I trust him with my old beater as well as my new Maxima. read more

My husband and I found Tuan on Yelp. After getting our car repaired locally (Santa Cruz County) my husband was still having problems with his Jeep's clutch. Based on Tuan's excellent reviews, we decided to bring the Jeep "over the hill." We are so glad we did. Tuan is honest and reasonable. He also does something that is very rare these days, he provides excellent customer service!! Thank you fellow Yelpers for helping us find Tuan!! read more

Tuan has been repairing our cars for more than a decade. He is a honer mechanic, and price are reasonable. First heard about him from a customer in a Volvo Custom Repair shop raving about how he waited for her on a Friday night while her car was towed from a Freeway breakdown situation. I had a problem with an O2 sensor in a 95 Camry, which despite several visits and $200+ to my former mechanic, the problem continued to recur. Tuan fixed it in 1 visit and I've going there ever since. He will not recommend work you do not need, and will tell you to wait or it's unnecessary. He kept that Camry going for 18 years until it was in an accident. Was still running great at the time. Some aspects to consider are the shop is not in a convenient location, and he does not provide pick-up or drop-offs. I've had to use the local VW dealer (2 stars) for repairs sometimes mainly for their shuttle service and proximity to work, but always to my regret and wallet pains afterwards. Tuan can be busy, and you may not be able to get immediate "drive in now and repair it now" service. read more

Tuan Auto Tech is a great auto repair shop ever... Tuan is a experience Jeep mechanic and very nice guy. The services are efficiency, & prices reasonable . My old 1997 Jeep has been fixed by many shop, but no shops can compare With Tuan Auto. Unbelievable, every time my jeep needs to repair and comes out like a new car. Very recommended All Jeep User to go!!!! read more

Professional, honest, well priced. He also is good at telling you what needs to be done and why. He also makes suggestions about what repairs may be coming up. Great guy read more

I was one of the bmw owners and skeptical about having my 3-series being serviced/repaired any places other than dealership. I came across Tuans Auto from Yelp and the reviews gave me some comfort level. Today I visited Tauns auto shop for my "service engine soon" light. He promptly assisted me and gave me a resolution with estimated cost. His estimate was reasonable, but the impressive part was him advising me on waiting on some repairs since it was not needed immediately. I had a small noise coming from the engine and he gave me good explanation on it, not being harmful in anyways. Tuan came across as an honest, reliable and reasonable mechanic. Just got my car back with everything completed. I am pleased by Tuans courteous service. I would recommend him to others. read more

I have been a customer of Tuan for about 17 or 18 years. I have taken my personal vehicles, company vehicles and have referred pretty much all of my friends, relatives, co-workers, etc. to this trustworthy mechanic. They too, continue to utilize his services and refer him as well. Tuan has kept my vehicles in tip-top condition and always at a more than reasonable price. I would not trust my vehicles to any other and I continue to refer Tuan to anyone I know that needs vehicles repair services. Keep up the great work Tuan! read more

Tuan always is able to fit me in whenever my car needs service. He runs a diagnostic without charging me, is honest, and is very reasonably priced. Tuan is the only mechanic my family and I will go to. read more

This ain't no gem! stupid me for believing in these reviews. He charged me $130 to change out serpentine belts where as speede only charged $90!! Stupid me for believing that a fellow Vietnamese wouldn't play another fellow Vietnamese like that. The only thing that's cheap about this place is the crappy garage he uses to fix your car in, other than that, nothing is cheap. read more

Well, after looking around for a shop to take my car to. I decided to give this guy a call. I asked for a quote and very rude, he just told me that he was busy with a customer and hung up. What kind of business is this??? I guess he doesn't need money. read more

Tuan is very good n honest. He works hard and gets the job done! I have brought my 2004 BMW 330 in for services and repairs, with no complaints. This is a rare find. If you got a problem with your bimmer go to him. He wont do u wrong on the prices or the quality of his work. read more

We took our 94 Lexus LS 400 after the car would intermittently start. We had previously taken the car to a battery manufacture which tested the alt and battery explaining they were fine. Tuan kept the vehicle overnight to test the battery when cold and discovered the brand new/refurbished battery was defective when cold. He also discovered our transmission mount was sheared off and replaced it at a reasonable price. read more

Tuan was fantastic today, he helped me fix my brakes which only had 2-3 days left on them, so scary! I called him 45 minutes before coming down to check out the problem. He immediately knew the answer and quoted me a reasonable price. He was even willing to take me that same day and stayed open late to make sure this got fixed. He was straight forward with the cost and we dead on, no surprises! I will definitely be returning! read more

Tuan is a really great guy and I was happy to find him. He was pleasant, honest and best of all informative. I brought in an old '86 Dodge Ram and he not only diagnosed the problem, he told me what he thought was wrong, what needed repairs and even other places that could do it. And then he recommended some things I could do myself, like changing the spark plugs, to save me some money! I get the idea that Tuan really appreciates his customers and isn't just trying to get their money. I highly recommend him. read more

Tuan is a great mechanic, as well as having great customer service. I broke my side mirror on my Honda Civic not long ago. Tuan checked on whether getting a new one, or a used one was the best option for me. Not every mechanic would do this because, let's face it, it takes more time, and time is money. I completely trust Tuan with the work on my car. He is reliable, honest, and knowledgeable. read more

Finding a mechanic can always be very stressful, especially when you know nothing of cars. I called him and told him the symptoms of my pt cruiser and instead of having me tow it in, he suggested a couple things it could be and, if possible, to check it myself, so I didn't waste my time or money. He was very patient and upfront with me over the phone and reassured me he wouldn't charge me to diagnose it. I had it towed there and no more than 30 mins he called and told me what the issue was. Turned out I needed a new engine, which costs $1000s. He said he would look around the next day for used engines. No more than an hour went by until he called back and gave me a couple different options and said he could work on it right away. Although the damages cost way more than what the car was worth, I had to pass. But he was more concerned with the car than making money. He even said after checking it I could take it somewhere else or if I wanted to, I could have my boyfriend work on it. I HIGHLY recommend Tuan to anyone with vehicle problems. read more

It was all the very positive reviews that lead me to try Tuans. I had always taken my car to the dealership for repairs, because I just didn't think I could find a mechanic I could trust. After being so sick & tired of being ripped off, My husband did a YELP search for me. After going over many mechanic reviews I decided to try Tuans for two reasons. One, He got the most comments on being "honest" and two, he uses OEM (original equipment manufacturer)parts. My only hesitation was was concern that he may only be familiar with fixing imports. BMW, Toyota, Honda, etc. None the less, I still wanted to try him, based on the Yelp reviews. I'm SO GLAD I DID. I have a Pontiac and Tuan was able to service it beautifully. First job Brakes. Great job, and much less expensive than competitors. (I called 3 other places) Another, my car needed new fuel pump assembly. Again, I called around to get quotes and by far Tuan's was best. Tuan truly does tell you ONLY the service your car needs NOW, what CAN wait. How much it will cost, and uses OEM parts whenever he can. Also, Tuan had my car ready the same day! Tuan is very friendly, professional and most importantly, honest! I have finally found a mechanic I feel I can trust. I will definitely continue using him. read more
