Came here after my car lights came on in what one would describe as Christmas lights. Yikes. We were recommended here by a coworker and Alvin, the owner, really took care of us. We've had our fair share of experiences with working with different mechanics and I can finally say we've found our go-to mechanic. I'd like to see a mechanic as little as possible and Alvin was very helpful. His reasonable prices actually convinced us to get some minor things fixed as well since he had our car as well and I hope to keep our car for another 5-10 years. 4/22/2025. Oil change service for both engine and transmission oil for Acura TL 2003. I brought my parts, which are oil engine 5w-30 and a filter, but I don't have transmission fluid. They charge me a total of $180 (not including tax) and do not show me a breakdown paper for this service. (labor cost + parts) My mother used to fix her car here; she said it was wonderful, so I tried it this time. I believe that the cost is too expensive, and something is unclear because any business should include a breakdown expense for clients to view. Unfortunately, I did not ask about the cost before using the service because I thought it was not expensive. I've been asking the people at Vo's to take care of my cars for many years now, since the time when Vo was the owner. I think the current owners are honest, reliable and reasonable in their pricing. This time Alvin was on vacation, and Tony took care of me. His team did a 110,000-mile service on my Lexus and found that I needed a front-brake job and a new engine air filter. On the other hand, they found that I did not need to replace my transmission fluid or my in-cabin air filter. Alvin and Tony are both very warm human beings, and they communicate clearly. I have an 2001 Ford truck that had a spark plug issue and I took it to Vo's because I got a recommendation from another mechanic and I found out a friend of mine has been taking his van there for years. I was relieved to discover the praises were true. Vo is very quick and quotes a price first and sticks to it. No "add-on" work you don't need and haven't requested. He checked the compressor first to make sure that it was just a spark plug issue and my compressor was fine. Total for the work was $123. Spark plugs were $5 each and $80 labor. Took the car in at 3 pm yesterday and it was ready by 9:30 am today Friday morning. I had taken it to Almaden Transmission over on Monterey on Wednesday by default they asked for the business. My friends mechanic right next door was closed, so I thought let's give them a try. I had not read all the awful reviews. They had all these add-ons for work I had already had done two weeks before. Excellent shop! I travelled from Seattle, WA to San Jose and my car decides to start acting funny. Luckily the shop was a couple blocks from my hotel. I showed up with no appointment and the shop was booked busy for the whole day. I spoke to Hai (owner) told him I was driving to NYC that day for my new job. He accepted my sob story and took my car in and moved it ahead of his other appointments. My car: 2002 BMW X5 3.0i Diagnosis using Snap-On labeled tablet (I'm not a mechanic): -All 6 cylinders misfiring: repaired by replacing all spark plugs and one ignition coil #6 cylinder -failed O2 sensors: replaced parts -broken air intake actuator: Hai showed me the part as they removed it from the vehicle and it was obviously broken. Part replaced. My car is a BMW and I have accepted the fact that parts are expensive and labor so much more. Just to replace the O2 sensors would have been over $1000 at the dealership. Vo Auto did all those repairs for much less. I've never left a shop and felt like I needed to give them more money - this time I felt like I was taking advantage of shop. As of this review, one day after the repairs, 1000 miles of driving towards NYC and my car runs perfect. Hai runs a honest business and takes care of his customers. I am forever grateful for his willingness to help me out. I owe him big time. So a bottle of fine whiskey is in the mail. read more

I stopped by today to get my "check engine" light looked at. Immediately, I was greeted by the very friendly owner who told me he would look at my car for free. A few minutes later, he figured out it was just the gas cap that was causing the light to switch on and reset it. I had actually originally went to AAMCO (next door) to get it diagnosed and they told me it would be $120 just to look at my car and that it would be several hours. I was so happy that Vo Complete Auto Services resolved the issue so quickly, for free, and didn't try to upsell me on unnecessary repairs. Mr. Hai is such a genuine person. He truly cares for his customers and will give you the best advice, even if it means he won't make a profit! My F-150 has been having problems, so he did a compression test to diagnose the problem. Afterwards, he sat down with me and explained everything. He is extremely patient and answers all your questions. He even tries his best to provide you with as many options as possible to tackle the problem and does not pressure you to make a decision on the spot because he wants his customers to be 100% happy when they leave. He also replaced 8 spark plugs and 8 ignition coils and changed the oil and oil filter. My truck is running much better and I couldn't be happier. He goes above and beyond! Not sure what happened when the nephew took over, but he definitely tried to play me. I just wanted a second opinion on whether my timing chain needed to be replaced or if I had valves to replace. He said he would look at it for free. He called to say what he found, and allegedly my ENGINE was bad and would cost $6k to replace. 6000. Seriously? A BRND new engine for my car is 2500. I decided he was definitely trying to get someone over on me so I had my friend go o two it, then he said diagnostic was $100. So it's free when you were going to do work, but now $100 when I chose not to believe the BS about my engine. My mom paid the $100 because she "felt bad" and I took it to another shop. Got my water pump for timing chain replaced and have had 0 issues since. It;s unfortunate. I really liked this place before Vo retired. read more

I was hesitant to continue to go here, but after speaking with Tony about my vehicle issue, he made me feel immediately comfortable and gave me pricing that still beats anyone else out there. Tony kept me informed throughout the entire process and made sure I knew exactly what was going on. He even delivered a day earlier than he expected the work to be done. From years of experience and moving around, I know it is a challenge finding an honest and reliable mechanic. My biggest fear is that I will get ripped off by someone because I don't know, what I don't know. Vo Auto Services and Tony and Team puts those fears to rest. All I can say is they are not a rip off like all others. Vo had retired so its under new management. Equally good as Vo. I've been coming here all the time. They fixed so quick and will always take care of you. I used to just go to dealership knowing that they will take care of you but they just take your money. One time my cig outlet wasnt working so I brought mu car to dealership and the advisor told me that they have to check the electrical wiring of the car so i have to leave it overnight. I said no so i brought my car to Vo and they just checked the fuse box and of course its always the fuse that get busted. If I only have a tester I can do it myself. But I wana leave it to the professionals. Lol.... Anyway, this place is truly very honest...... Very honest!!!! read more

If I could give more than 5 stars, I totally would! On my commute home one day from work, my car seemed as if were going to stall out and die from the stop-and-go. It had been experiencing some major issues with shifting, so I decided to take it to a shop to get it looked at. I read all of the great reviews on Yelp about this place, so I decided to call them up and let them know that I was on my way to drop off my car. I told the guy that I was stuck in traffic but that I'd try to get there before they close at 5pm. The guy told me that he would wait for me. I thanked him and told him that it was very much appreciated. When I finally arrived at the shop about 10 minutes after 5, he asked if I had a ride home. I told him yes, and that they were on their way. He said that he would wait with me until I was picked up. I again thanked him and told him it was very much appreciated. The next morning, he called to tell me that there were no codes found when they ran the diagnostics. He said that the car is still really new and that he didn't think the transmission could be going out (I had a 2010 Ford Escape with about 54k miles on it). He said that he would continue investigating and let me know if he found out anything else. A few hours later, he called back and said that he found a few TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins) regarding issues with the 2010 Ford Escape automatic transmissions. He told me that unfortunately, I'd have to take it to the dealership to get the transmission program (software) reprogrammed. I knew exactly what he was talking about since I had been doing some online research of my own that day. One issue with the car was that it would actually not spit out any diagnostic codes, even when there was an actual problem (oh joy). There was also a TSB on the transmission, describing the same specific problems that I had been experiencing. I picked up the car a bit later that day. I was told that there would be no charge. I was absolutely amazed! Again, I thanked him and told him that I'd write the shop a kick-ass review :) Never in my life would I expect to experience this high level of service from an auto shop. If I ever have any other car issues in the future, I'm for sure coming back here. (Oh, and I traded in the Ford Escape for a GMC Terrain...no more Ford's for this girl lol. The dealership actually told me that they were aware of the transmission problem but that Ford had not yet issued a recall.) read more
