This is how you get ripped off... I got a card in the mail from AAA for a free 40-point vehicle maintenance inspection. I didn't even know AAA has auto repair centers? However, I trust AAA and have been a member for quite sometime so I took my car in to be inspected at their Tully Road location. To make a long story short and after testing my car with lots of fancy diagnostic tools they told me I needed $3,924.07 in repairs including front and back brakes. Huh?! I asked what is "needed" rather than "recommended"? He quoted me around $2500. I politely told him I would go to my regular mechanic to take a look. I've been going to Tai/Tran at White Road Auto Service for decades and he has always been the most trustworthy person. Being a good old fashioned mechanic he looked under my car with a flashlight and deducted I needed my front brakes resurfaced. Then he checked under the hood and said I needed to top off my oil. My tires were changed at Costco 3 weeks ago . Yesterday I noticed when I was ready to drive that there was a screw embedded in my tire and was completely flat . Went to Costco and was told I have to change the complete tire for $259.00 and have my car towed to their tire store . I called White Road Auto Service and talked to TAI the owner . He told me to put air on the tire and drive it to his shop and he will fix it . Drove this am and with in an hour he was able to take the screw and sealed the tire completely . Fast and efficient oil change, in and out in about 30 minutes (though they gave a rough 45 min wait). There were other folks ahead of me but I think they required more in depth car service. Come here at your own risk... I wish I had a positive experience like everyone else here but unfortunately I did not. I was recommended here by a family member for brakes. I was able to get in same day (I guess that should've been a sign). Next day I pick up my car happy to not hear the metal on metal sound. But that was short lived, a week later my brakes are squeaking like CRAZY. I wait a little bit thinking it may have been left over brake dust but the sound only got worse. I take it back to him explaining my brakes are still squeaking and it's been 2 weeks. He hops in my car drives for a few seconds and tells me your brakes just need to "warm up" and I was like wth?? Okay. A month later my brakes are screaming and it's so embarrassing at this point. I take back to him AGAIN and he tells me it's probably my back brakes. I just replaced my back brakes a year ago so that's a lie. I said can you please look at it, I don't think it's that and said he didn't need too. At this point I was fed up. I ended up taking it to someone else for a second opinion and this person said I needed to replace my ROTORS! And that the last person who did it literally just slapped on new brakes without replacing it, hence the squeaking. So I basically paid $197 to slap on new brakes for nothing. Thanks. Y'all know the feeling when trying to find a new mechanic? I know that feeling all too well!!! I thank God I found this place. I called around 10am because my 2010 Toyota Corolla had a bad alternator and serpentine belt. The gentleman named Tai said bring my car in. I had it towed around 11am. He told me what the problem was and then gave me the quote. It was really unbelievably cheaper then I expected. Great PRICE!!!! I called around 5pm and he said half hour my car will be ready. I got there at 5:30pm the same day and low and behold my car was ready. I took it for a drive and everything felt great. This was about a week ago. This place has saved me twice in the past few years. A few years back my car battery completely died. Since it was close to my house, I brought my car here. Within a couple of minutes the issue was diagnosed as the alternator needing to be replaced. Best part of all, it was done for less than $150 and my car was ready for pickup about 4 hours later. Fast forward to now. My Check Emissions System light came on. Again, took it here and they ran diagnostics, sat in the running car for about 30 seconds, peeked under the hood and told me the problem was a blown ignition coil. Honest, direct and skilled. Tai and his team are the best! Piercy Toyota told me that my trunk latch was broken and the part would cost $250 not including labor. Tai took one look at it got his screwdriver and jimmied out a piece of rubber that was jamming the latch and it works good as new, no charge! Plus what the dealership was going to charge me for replacing brake pads, replacing lights and fluid change, with parts bought from O'Rielly and Tai's labor all was done for 1/3 the price.
