Dave's Garage & Auto Sales

I recently purchased 2 automobiles from Dave's garage in auto sales He is taking care of the little…read moreproblems that's coming up on one of the vehicles otherwise I have only the best thing to say about the place

I was looking for an astro van for my son. I located one in Peoria Illinois, 170 miles away from…read moremy home called Dave's Garage. I talked with Dave the owner to ask if the van had any problems. He said the brake lines had been replaced and it had a little rust, also the van pulls to the right so it must have rust on the rotors. I came to an agreement with Dave and sent a deposit for this vehicle to Becca. I sent her an e-mail and told her to make sure that this van has no problems and it is safe for my son to drive it back 170 miles. My son made the trip and gave Becca the bank check and started to drive home when his cell phone rang and Becca said be careful with the brakes. I took a look at this vehicle and took it for a ride. The gear box had leaked all the fluid out and when the brakes are applied the ABS light comes on and it pulls to the right. As I was stepping into the drivers side the floor is all rusted out. I looked at the air cleaner but it did not have a filter. How nice to drive a 170 miles with no air cleaner! AC compressor was grinding. I called Dave's and talked with Becca about these items with the van. Becca called me back and said Dave will look at the brakes if I want to drive it back 170 miles. How safe would that be? I spent a lot of money on this van and still had to put more money and time working on it myself to make it safe for my son. I know there is no warranty and buy as is, but what a joke to tell a lie to sell a vehicle. I would never recommend this place to anyone that is interested in buying a vehicle from there. As I said before buyer BEWARE!!

Car-X Tire & Auto

Chose the Peoria Car-X for the ratings on Google and my friend's recommendation. I came in first to…read moreprice tires and see if they could get the Yokohama tires. Very quickly and professionally he checked two different sites and could get the tires I requested. He printed out pricing without trying to sell me another brand or pressure me. I did ask him what he recommended and he gave me several options and printed pricing again without any pressure. I told him I wanted to do more research and would contact him again. I actually decided to go with one of his recommendations because the tires were also on sale. It was determined after the complimentary alignment check that I would also need an alignment. This didn't surprise me because my tires were worn unevenly (after only 20,000 mi) After the tires were put on and during the alignment the technician (Chris) told me the tow bolts in the rear needed to be replaced. Those would need to be ordered. I asked if I could just find them at dealers and bring them back in. (Quicker) Long story short I got the bolts and they fit me into their schedule the next day. On my last tire purchase at a different store, different city, the technician told me he got the alignment close but not exact and to go to the dealer. He never mentioned a bolt problem. I did go to a dealer but obviously it still didn't get right because the bolts needed to be replaced first. I'm so appreciative that Chris patiently took the time to explain to me why and what needed to be done and his work ethic on my car. If they had just gotten the alignment 'close enough' I would wear through tires quickly again. I will gladly recommend and do future business at the Peoria Car-X.

I went in and had a new tire installed. Tire was 160.00 and install and balance was 40.00+…read more Couldn't give me a receipt because out of paper? About 6-8 weeks later I personally changed the oil and filter and rotated the tires. The tire they installed took me about 2 hours to remove. I have always torqued the studs at 105 PSI and never had a problem but this tire I needed a 24 inch long 1/2 inch drive to to loosen all the lugs except one- had to use wrench and cheater to get the nut removed. Found out the lug was cross threaded and have to get new lug stud and lug bolt intalled. Guess who isn't going to do this job or only future work for me. Now it makes me wonder if the printer was out of paper!!!!!!!!!!!
