If I could give 0 star, I would...because of the alterer. The guy definitely overcharged me to hem a dress. The other Quality Alterations in town charge a fixed, lesser amount with a better quality finish. I asked my husband to pick it up for me the following week as I was out of town, I called beforehand to let him know out of courtesy. He sounded annoyed, and bothered on the phone. He then treated my husband horrible. He was demanding cash only, even though he never told us they couldn't do card (the other branches do card), and there were no signs saying cash only. He was being sneaky about prices during my fitting visit and a complete asshole during pick up. He may have been asking for cash because he was charging more than what he should have been. Don't go here. Go to the other branches if you can or even just a different company. Not worth it. read more

This place has done quality work for me in the past, so I can't give them a zero star. However ... I went to have my dress slacks tightened up. The lady seemed somewhat irritated that I asked her to measure me after I initially said I wanted only 1 inch taken off. Regardless, she marked up the pants and said it would be $28. I paid her, and she said it should be ready on Monday. I went to pick up the slacks on Wednesday of the following week. She found my said that would be $28. I informed her that she had already charged me and had already paid. She said no, if I had paid, it would've been marked on the ticket. Since it wasn't, she said I hadn't paid. I explained politely that I paid her directly, and asked if she remembered. I told her I'd go get the receipt from my car. Her husband said something to her in Turkish, and the woman just glared at me and shoved the pants in my face. Be very careful of this place. Committing fraud is bad. Being rude is bad. Being fraudulent and rude? Unacceptable. I would never not pay for services rendered. That's a very rude person who will not admit her mistake. There are better, more polite alterations people in Knoxville. read more

Great place. I am a fan. Parking: I hate the parking situation in this business strip. Very limiting and only a one-way. Most of the spots are always taken too. Service: Very professional and easy to talk to. I initially arrived for an estimate, but I didn't take it to other places because the price was reasonable. He gave a week to alter my clothing. Payment: Cash or check only. Does not accept card. Tip: Always try it on before (with appropriate shoes/heels if needed) and after the alteration (to see if you like it). I took a bridesmaid dress to Quality Alterations and let me try to shorten a VERY long story: they absolutely BOTCHED my dress. I picked my dress up on the scheduled day and immediately when I put it on I knew it wasn't right. I was very unhappy and expressed that to the man working (who is the one I dealt with in the first place). He kept telling me there wasn't anything that could be done and that it was just the material. He even tried to show me after I took the dress off that he did all he could do. I had to take it to another alterations shop to fix what all they messed up. Here is what was supposed to be done and what is now having to be fixed: - taken up several inches at the bottom (this is the only thing that was done correctly) - Larger cups in the bust area (the cups were removed and moved down 2-3 inches. No new ones were put in when that's what we agreed upon AND they were sewn back in wrong) - I had massive bumps all down my back/spine where the zipper is. The owner of quality alterations told me it was the material and there's nothing else that could be done about it. Over and over again tried to tell me it was just the material when it wasn't like this when I took it in initially (Took it to another shop and they told me my torso is short and the other place didn't account for that. As soon as they pinned it up, the bumps went away) - The dress was supposed to have been taken in around me because it was overall too big. (Quality alterations took the dress in one ONE SIDE. The dress was crooked on my body, the material was pulling badly) I did pay for my alterations at Quality Alterations, however I went back the next day once I realized how bad things actually were (because they were way worse than I initially thought) and asked for my money back. The work has been done quickly, and the cost was noted on my receipt when I drop things off. The staff can be very direct, but I have never found them rude. I will use the place again. read more

They are willing to work with you if you need something done fast, just understand that there will be a price. I had a beloved (and expensive) blazer which suddenly acquired a small hole in it, thus rendering it almost unusable. I have taken items here twice to be hemmed. The first was a pair of unlined pants that they were able to finish in the same day, and the second was a knit maxi dress that I picked up the next day. The work on both pieces was excellent, and I know from my mother's sewing experience that knit is very hard to work with. Very rude to me when I called for a quote. The man could not speak English and was very gruff. He could not give me a fixed price. I needed to get a dress hemmed for a late wedding invitation. When I tried to go to the shop I could not find a parking place. All the spaces were filled up. The entrance was dirty with cigarette butts and planter containers filled with sand and cigarette butts. Some people were out front smoking and talking. Not a good first impression.
