While driving to a meeting in San Diego late on a Sunday night, I had a major radiator failure on the I-5 in Oceanside. AAA towed me to Urgent Auto Care and I had to deal with the repair details by phone during breaks from meetings. I was in tough position as I had few options in shopping around and looking at options. Nick made the whole experience far better than I thought it would be. All seemed to go well but, there turned out to be a problem after the repair. Here's why I'm giving them five stars... My dashboard lights lit up the day after the repair which turned out to be a bad thermostat. The thermostat was replaced during the repair but the faulty part was the manufacturer's error not Urgent's. Regardless, Nick went out of his way to make sure my car was repaired at minimal inconvenience and that I was confident in the repair. We all have good experiences with merchants/vendors, however, the true test of a place is how they handle a problem. What a pleasant surprise to have a mechanic make things right. read more

I had some car trouble today and Nick at Urgent Auto was kind enough to help me out and walk me through what might be going on with my car. I was panicked and he was awesome to take the time to reassure me that they could help. I didn't end up needing a diagnostic. They could have done it anyways and charged me for one, but Nick was honest and gave me his card in case my car broke down. It would have been a manic monday had Nick not answered the phone, been super polite, and told me he could tow my car within the hour. Wonderful. He quoted a significantly lower rate than the first place I had called and was quick, efficient, and easy to talk to. This was the most enjoyable, care free experience I have ever had with a visit to the mechanic. I came in on a whim to have a free brake inspection and was actually greeted at the door and had a genuine good feeling about the place by their cordial demeanor and approach to me as a customer. I am also a business owner and practice a high level of customer service so I know how to recognize the character of a business by the way I'm treated. Within 10 minutes Dave had my truck up on the lift and came back with the news which I already suspected; that my back brakes were severely worn and needed to be replaced. He also checked my front brakes and said that they were in "Perfect Condition." ....Right then I knew this was a good place to be, because I recently had my front brakes changed out and he just confirmed that, without me even saying anything. So I knew this was an honest assessment of the situation and I felt completely at ease about having them do the work. I really wanted to get them done that day and was thrilled when he said they could have me back on the road in an hour, but I hesitated because I had already purchased the brakes and failed to bring them with me. I also didn't have any way to go pick them up while my truck was on the lift, so I thought I would have to come back another day. The next thing he said astounded me because it reminded me of how in a perfect world people would do business with their fellow man on the foundation of honor and with a firm handshake. It was easy to build rapport with Dave and after I told him I forgot to bring the break pads, he asked me how far away I lived. I said "Carlsbad" and that's when he took out the keys to his own personal vehicle, and said "it's parked right over there, go grab the brake pads and we'll put them in as soon as you get back... Wow Really!... That was the coolest thing I've ever seen, or heard of, especially in this day in age, you just don't witness a lot of that genuine type of down to earth treatment from businesses or people for that matter any more. I returned with the brakes promptly, handed him his keys back and they got straight-away to work. The whole experience was amazing. I got to meet the owner of the business when he came in to stock the water cups for the waiting area. He actually filled up a cup with cold water from the cooler, came over to greet me, shook my hand and offered me a cup of water. It was well received on a hot day and I don't think I will ever want to go to another mechanic after visiting Urgent Auto Care in Oceanside. They are that good! Last month I went in for an oil change and was greeted very kindly. I had no wait time and had my car back within no time. Today is the second time I am using their service for an alignment and a few other minor repairs and not only did they honor my military service with a 15% discount, I also received a courtesy ride back to my house! What excellent service! Both the owner Nick and staff Bethany were so pleasant and professional...I felt very important and well taken cared of. Well my car broke down and I called them to give me a tow and not only did they give me a discount for getting it fixed at there shop they gave me a ride home as well and offered to pick me up after my car was fixed very professional and the best customer service I highly recommend going to this shop it only took them one day figure what was wrong with my car and repaired it the same day if you have car trouble this is the business to call!! read more

Over Mother's Day weekend my mother had an major issue with her spare tire bracket. While driving, it fell and was dragging on the street causing sparks. The tire company failed to put the bolts back the way they were supposed to after replacing her tires. We spotted Nick in our townhome complex and we asked his opinion as to what we can do so she could safely drive home. Without even blinking an eye Nick was under my mom's truck securing the bracket. Once finished, my mom tried to pay Nick and he refused her money. He was incredibly kind and just wanted to make sure my mom was safe. He truly saved the day and we will forever be grateful. read more
