He got me the estimate quickly and then came back out again to do exact measurements for the final estimate. Again, just very helpful throughout the process. Waiting for the windows took a while so I think we did end up waiting like 2-3 months between that visit and getting them installed which was the only negative of our experience. Installation team was fantastic. I think there were 3-4 people there. Ed was in charge. Just nice guys, we felt comfortable having them in the house. Cleaned up very well. Everything looks great and very professionally installed. Kept us updated with some random things they found (rotting wood) when reframing the windows. Again answered questions anytime we had them. On time both coming and leaving. Cost seems reasonable for what we got and from speaking with friends but I'm no window expert. Planning on having them come back out next year to finish the rest of the windows. Good experience overall.

It feels like a major home renovation. And in a lot of ways, it was -- the last three windows that Louie and Ameon expertly replaced for me turned out to be fully rotted around the frames, unbeknownst to me. As with the previous job, they handled everything with extreme care and attention to detail. The house was again spotless when they left. I felt like I was in great hands throughout. Cannot recommend Emerald more highly, but especially these two experts on their team!

(if you'd like the full story, read on:)  I hired Oregon windows last fall to replace a cracked window and to replace a broken window handle. Oregon then installed a darker tinted window. I called and "Albert" told me I'd have to pay more to get matching glass. Albert said he'd call their suppliers, but after a few weeks of not hearing anything, I did a charge-back on the credit card.  I then got voice message from "Karen." I spoke with Karen who communicated Albert didn't know what he was talking about, that I should speak directly with her, and that she was able to order matching glass. I was told the glass was ready to be installed, so scheduled an appointment, took off work, then they didn't show up...  When I called, Albert said Karen was out and had instructed his guys not to come because they were unable to order the correct glass thickness for these types of windows. I tried calling Karen over the following week, but Albert would tell me she wasn't in and to try the following day. My messages have gone unanswered to date.  So... one of two things is happening here: 1) Oregon Windows is truly unable to order the correct glass for the building they claim to be in all the time; or, 2) They don't feel like fixing the mistake.  PS: Still holding my breath for the window handle replacement...

I had a window issue in my new home that I couldn't find anyone to help with. I'd been given several quotes from big box stores, handyman and manufacturer, and the price for the quality I wanted was out of my budget. I found Zen Windows on Angie's List. Mak was quick to respond and provided me options. I got the quality I wanted for a very fair price PLUS it was so easy! I didn't have to wait days/weeks for someone to come out to measure and "sell" me a door. The communication with Mak and the installer, John, was easy. The installer arrived on time and went out of his way to resolve some obstacles my house presented. Quality was important for me as this oversize door is opened/closed many times throughout the day (let the dogs out, let the dogs in: repeat). The screen is perfect for pets and is so minimalist I find myself checking to be sure it's closed. It was surprising to me that I wasn't asked for a deposit and refreshing to do business in this way.
