When I was a teenager, my friends and I would go and see Q as we thought of him as : (AIR JORDAN ) of cutting hair, no one had the skills or style he had and his shop was always constantly busy. Q THE BARBER had inspired me to become a barber from seeing his success and passion behind his work, to where later in life I went to school to become a barber and eventually open a well known shop in Southern California called 'Justin's Fades & Hairstyles'. I flew into town from Southern California to come and visit family, so I didn't have the time to get my haircut before I flew in to town. I reached out to Q and had made an appointment with him. Q is very professional and he just doesn't go in and go 0-60 and call it done. He pauses and makes sure customers are OK with what they see and he also makes suggestions before moving forward. Order: Adult Male haircut 9:00am apt Pros: I received a call about the barber being late (that was at least nice). Sign outside is visible and easy to find. Cons: Arrived about 15 minutes before my appointment time since it was my first time coming to the location. I parked on street as the gate to the shop was closed. About 3 mins or so prior to my actual appointment, I get a call from Q stating he overslept and would be about 20 mins. I told him its okay I was going to head to work. For me this is not a great first impression. If I was 15 min late barbers would cancel my apt. & charge me a fee. I think the same should be done to barbers. I wont be coming back. The online booking system they use is interesting. It only provides one service and one price. It also doesn't share who's going to cut your hair. read more

PRICES - $20 (men) // $17 (high school and under) // $9 (beard) (per Q today) HOURS - ~9:00-6:30 Monday through Saturday (per Tanner last time) _____________________ The first time I came in, Tanner (barber I had that day) recommended getting to the shop before opening (9am) to reduce the wait time. Go figure that I would arrive by 8:50/8:55 today and it would be less busy than last month anyway. ANYWAY. This time, I waited around while each barber (5 were in by 10am) took their first customer. I figure some people make appointments with the guys, since some people came after me but got into a chair before me, but no big - I was early, had a book, and had time to kill. The wait wasn't even that long, and I ended up with Q himself by 10ish. The last time I came in, I wasn't specific enough and ended up with a good cut, but not what I wanted. This time, I was better prepared and showed Q a photo of something I was going for. We talked about it for half a beat to clarify, and then he got to work. Q's is a very laid back and comfortable barbershop. Great atmosphere. Basketball game on the TV. Pool Table on the floor. Good Music. Great people. We walked in without an appointment and were seated within 5 min! Tanner (@bigredthebarber) at Q's Corner Barbershop is a ten. He did a great job on my four year old's haircut. I told him a Skin-tight high fade with a hard part. He nailed it! Seems like some people don't understand the concept of fading from skin, but he nailed it. Four year olds can be very difficult to deal with, especially when it's their first time in a new barbershop. Tanner was very patient and kept him calm. From what I could see, each of the men behind the blades knew what they were doing. Every customer who came and went were clearly satisfied and I remember thinking how clean they looked. A+ Gents. Took my 3 boys over there to get their fades as this place came recommended by a friend of mine. Wait time was quite a bit but there's a reason why, these guys are good and take their time to ensure the line ups are right and the fades are clean and tight. Highly recommend this place. With a reduction in staff there is a bit of a wait during prime times. They no longer take appointments on Friday or Saturday, so walk in and SIGN THE BOARD and you will be called in order of arrival. Still great service, but if you can, try to get a Tuesday or Wednesday cut when there is less traffic. read more

Reasonable rates and a great atmosphere. I was a tad out of place in the male dominant environs but still welcome. The staff are all wonderful. Eugene is very informative, and all the staff clearly have a passion for what they do. They provide a very welcoming atmosphere and there's usually a lively conversation going on. There's a pool table and a television to help pass the time while you wait. This is that "feel good' family orientated barber shop. At the same time, it is what many of us know by its name- "The corner barbershop"- good convo, greater personalities and professional and prideful service. The staff is knowledgeable in all the old and new ways and fashions, the influx is amazing as they seem to work together well as individuals and a team. You are going to get exactly what you want- they make sure of that. They are diligent in the customers wants, I had to be reminded they are clippers - not a magic wand. Not a bad cut yet and I have been honored to be in 3 of the 4 chairs there. They remember you and make you feel like it's a bit of home. I was told to google it and call to get it resolved with the buisness The only Q's I found was Q's in Salem so I called Q this morning after I found this add on yelp which says he does NOT take cards which he assured me he does not. He also informed me he has had simular calls and it is NOT his , He was very helpful in my persuit of getting the issue resolved. We just moved here to Salem Oregon from California. My 37 yr old son discovered this place. Its a little place, sort of hidden, but the haircuts are AWESOME!!! It sort of reminds me of the 70's barber shops. In those days barbers took pride in their work. Q himself cut my sons hair (and mind you,my son is picky when it comes to his haircuts)... We were looking for a barber, and we looked online. It was a Monday, and most barber shops were closed, this one was open, THANK GOD!!! It was meant to be. Rumors are a few famous rockers come here when their in town. We waited close to half hour, but it was worth the wait. It reminds me of those little cozy barber shops they used to have in Chicago or little Italy, where everyone knew each other. Q is very knowledgeable about different styles of haircuts... The texture of your hair and head shape plays a big role on the haircut someone wants..... My son hardly combs his hair, its like it falls into place by itself, now that's an excellent haircut!!!! I waited at the door at 8:50. The first barber was 15 minutes late. A long line of customers showed up after me. I had to be at work at 10 and told him so. At 9:50 he asked if I was ready. I asked if he could do it in 10 minutes. He said no. I told him he should had said something about his timing. He said I should have told him I was in a hurry - this was 50 minutes after their opening time. Then he smugly told me to try Supercuts. His loss, I'm a great tipper. read more
