After arriving at my home with plumbing parts in hand, Cody from Woody's Plumbing was instructed to provide a quote before starting. Despite having three weeks to prepare the estimate while waiting for the part to arrive on Maui, they quoted $965 for a one-hour job to change a cartridge -- even though they claimed the high price included sourcing the part but I supplied the part myself. They falsely claimed to have sourced it and refused to perform the work until I signed the quote and paid in full upfront. This is predatory pricing and unethical business behavior. Beware of Dishonest Plumbing Practices! Ladies and widows -- avoid Woody's and find an honest, reputable plumber who won't take advantage of you

Their suggested next step was to hire someone else to remove tile and look again. Over $1,000 for two visits that ended with no diagnosis, no fix, and a damaged ceiling is not reasonable value for the work performed. The technicians were polite, but the pricing for what was essentially "we couldn't find it" twice in a row is hard to justify. If you're getting a quote from this company, ask exactly what you get for the diagnostic fee and what happens if they don't find the cause -- in our case, the answer was pay again.

Ikaika came out quickly and gave me options for getting more time out of my old heater, rather than convince me to pay so much more for a replacement. I really appreciated having the choice, because you expect to hear that cha-ching that goes with a pricier job. Anyway, it was my decision to replace it, so Ikaika gave me a reasonable quote and was ready to start soon. Ikaika discussed the whole process with us and answered all of our questions. I had a couple of requests and he was able to accommodate. He showed up on time every day, fully prepared to tackle the job. He removed the old tank and installed the new 120 gallon tank (it's a big house) really quickly. It has all the bells & whistles. Our new rooftop panels were sized to meet the needs of our 120 gallon tank, taking into consideration the amount of sunshine we have in Kihei. Along with the manufacturer warranties for the system, Ikaika also gave us his own 2 year warranty for his work. That includes free annual checkups and tank flushes. We got to know Ikaika Ho'opi'i pretty well. He is a very friendly gentleman who likes to talk story. Ikaika is a family man and a big asset to the community. After doing some troubleshooting on my own--changing toilet parts, checking the irrigation system, and investigating other possible causes--we narrowed the issue down to the main water line. Based on the information I provided, he was able to give me a quote before anyone even came out, which I really appreciated. As promised, Jonathan arrived right on time. He was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He located the leak surprisingly quickly, and I was shocked at how deep the pipe was buried. At one point, Jonathan was upside down in the hole working to access it! Throughout the process, he clearly explained what needed to be done. He let me know he was going to the store to get a part and would be right back--and he was. He returned quickly and got right back to work. Once the repair was completed, he showed me the damaged section of pipe and explained the fix before covering everything back up. I was especially impressed with the care he took when refilling the hole. He carefully put the soil back in place, and by the end of the job, he was covered from head to toe in mud. It was obvious he worked incredibly hard to get the repair done right. It's been a few days since the repair, and so far everything is working perfectly. The owner of this company is responsive, kind, and most importantly, honest. I highly recommend Good Guys Plumbing for any plumbing needs.
