While all of the other plumbing companies were playing games with their quotes, Camilo was responsive, honest and straight forward. I sent him pics of my existing water heater and regulator that needed to be replaced, and he replied with what he charges for replacement, pick up of new water heater and regulator and disposal of old unit. I purchased the unit directly from Lowe's and he picked it up for the job. Camilo was professional and efficient. His services were reasonably priced and Laulima did not price gouge. Previously replaced a water pump and forgot to turn the hot valve back on. Kept telling me to give it a few days to allow the water to warm up (even though it was summer) instead of coming back to check his work. Luckily my father came to visit and was able to see that this company failed to turn it back on. Most recently sent me an attractive estimate to replace the tank but when I started asking questions about where he gets the tank from he ghosted me. I found it difficult to send someone nearly 5k deposit who didn't even make an effort to come out to the job site. read more

Am not sure where all these positive reviews are coming from but I requested a quote for him to replace my LG batteries that are under warranty and they quoted me $3K for swapping out the batteries and that is on top of the $500 reimbursement per battery that LG will give them. I know Maui can be expensive but this is just going over board. read more

Incredible local company. We have had our system for a month now and it is working perfectly. We checked around for quotes from several companies and either they were gouging on pricing or would never call back even after leaving several messages and speaking with them. From the moment I requested a quote to install solar on our townhouse, Laulima has been PHENOMENAL to work with. I considered other "brand" name companies on Maui, but Laulima stands head and shoulders above everyone else. Andres is so knowledgeable about the equipment and installation--no question was too hard for him (and I ask a lot of questions!). He was so patient and easy to work with. Other companies are notorious for dropping you after installation and referring you to the vendor (Tesla, etc.) for any issues after installation, but not Laulima. Andres called me a month after installation just to check to see how everything was going, took down questions I had to contact the vendor for me. No service provider has EVER called me to follow up after a job is done. We contacted Camilo to replace an old solar water heater. He provided a competitive quote and replied to my emails. Due to a supplier issue, we had to reschedule. He arrived on the rescheduled date with all new parts. Our water heater is located downhill, but he transported the old and new water heaters without complaining. As we requested, he raised the water heater up on bricks since the old one was sitting too low on the ground. He installed the new water heater in working condition without issues. I was bidding out a solar system and Camilo got back to me within 1 hour, after i sent the request at 10 PM on a Friday night. I agreed to meet with him the following morning. He arrived on time, with his proposals ready to go. Within only a few min of greeting and talking story he was able to narrow down what I was looking for and self pruned his presentation. He was able to clearly answer my questions and was able to show me where I was missing a key piece of information. We were able to go over the numbers, the outline, the timeline, the why this would work and why this would not work, all without it being a "let me sit at your kitchen table with a laptop presentation". We also did a rough outline of what it would take to get the job done, how the lines would need to get run and a few other technical outlines i was looking for. I needed repairs to be done to my water solar panels so I called Laulima solar and other solar companies. Camilo was quick to return my call versus the other solar companies. He returned my call within 20 minutes. The other solar companies didn't call back until 2-3 days later.
