They falsely claimed to have sourced it and refused to perform the work until I signed the quote and paid in full upfront. This is predatory pricing and unethical business behavior. Called to have a plumber come check on a leak in our garage. I assumed it was the water heater,…read morebecause it was the only thing in the garage. The plumber didn't look at anything other than the water heater and stated it needs to be replaced. He quoted a price that made me swear immediately. I apologized as it was out of character, he said it was ok, but the water heater needed to be replaced and it was up to me. I told him if it needs to, I don't have any options, do what he needs to. As he was removing the water heater, I pointed out the areas there was water and I didn't think it came from the water heater as the water heater would have been spraying water in order to get that far. The plumber stated he has been doing this for over 20 years and he knows what he is doing. After the water heater was removed, he said it needed to drain. He left and came back about a hour later, the water heater dripped really slowly the entire time he was gone. I mentioned that if there was a hole in the water heater, wouldn't air go through the hole and help the water drain from the spigot faster. He stated that I didn't understand the science of it and that the hole closes when disconnected from the water because there is no longer presser. He completed the replacement and left. I swept out all the water from the garage and didn't think much of it. I checked on the garage the next day and the garage was full of water again. I called Steve's Plumbing and the same guy came out. He said that he needed to do an inspection of the house to find out where the leak was coming from, he said before he did, it would cost so much per hour to look for the leak. I told that's what he supposed to have done before, but he didn't look at anything other than the water heater and stated it needed to be replaced. He said it was my fault and that he didn't look for a leak because it was the water heater, I reminded him that I said their is leak in the garage which we needed him to look at and the only thing directly connected to water was the water heater. He repeated it was his fault, it was mine. I asked him to leave and stated at me and refused. Only after telling him he needed to leave the property or I would call the police because he wasn't welcomed, he finally left. I called another company, it turns out there was a pipe broke in the wall. The plumber explained all things Steve's Plumbing should have done to ensure the issue was corrected, more specially, checking the water pressure before work started and checking the water pressure when the job was complete to ensure the issue had been resolved. They also explained that we paid way too much replacing a water heater (which didn't need to be replaced). I'll never use Steve's Plumbing again.

Over $1,000 for two visits that ended with no diagnosis, no fix, and a damaged ceiling is not reasonable value for the work performed. The technicians were polite, but the pricing for what was essentially "we couldn't find it" twice in a row is hard to justify. If you're getting a quote from this company, ask exactly what you get for the diagnostic fee and what happens if they don't find the cause -- in our case, the answer was pay again.

My girlfriend calls back and the person that answers the phone says that I gave them the ok to come early? In which I did not. Anyways very poor communication and did not try to call us back admit they came early or at least get the estimator guy back to give a proper estimate at the time they scheduled. Already starting off on a bad foot. Sent emails and no communication back what so ever to make it right. We recently purchased a new washer and our water lines needed to be replaced. I couldn't do the work myself because I don't have the proper tools and everything was rusted over. I called Brandon of Pro Island Drain Cleaning and services by referral from John of Good Guy Plumbing that I got from Next Door. Brandon wasn't able to come out day of being that it was about 6pm but he did tell me to call first thing in the morning so they could get us in on the schedule. I called the next morning and he told me to send him the address and he'll have someone to come by. He had someone come by around noon to see what needed to be done and he left to pick up the other parts needed. Our plumber, Kai was so easy to work with especially since we previously bought some of the other needed parts to begin with the day before. It was less than an hour of work that would have taken me much longer on my own. The price was much more fair than calling one of those bigger plumber companies that charge $100 to cut a pipe.
