The sushi here for the middle of VA is pretty good. The service and actual restaurant area is just the opposite of appealing. The bathrooms had trash spilling out the garbage bins; there was no soap in the bathrooms and it smelled. I don't live in the bathroom so I could get over that. The waitress, left us hanging for like 10-12 minutes, no silverware or chopsticks or napkins until AFTER our plates arrived. I asked her co-worker to take over and he barely did that. The manager who was apologetic but not able to redeem the situation was bland and pase. I think this is a hot location for locals who may not have access to good food spots but, the service and the bathrooms and dirty tables in an empty restaurant was enough to turn me off. I would AVOID this spot.

First time coming here. Felt weird doing it all you can eat sushi so I opted for the à la carte menu. My sushi and sashimi combo came with a small salad and cup of miso soup, both were acceptable. Sushi and sashimi tasted good. I wish it was slightly more food because I was really hungry. Still, it is a good value, and a better value in my opinion than the sushi you get from Kroger or Wegmans. I wish you could substitute out the California roll for something better, for the same price. Even with a 20% tip, I spent just $20 If you're from Seattle or Vancouver, or places where finding bad sushi is nearly impossible, then you probably would think this is a three stars out of five . But I think for this area, I'm going with four out of five stars. Server was respectful and attentive.

I think this place is way better than it gets credit for on the reviews. Yelp Bestie and I came here at 11 o'clock on a Tuesday morning. We were seated immediately and our order was taken immediately as well. We started with a shrimp teriyaki with just vegetables and no rice from the kitchen, three sushi rolls for me And she ordered bang bang shrimp and one roll to start. Teriyaki shrimp and vegetables came very quickly. The shrimp was good, nice and juicy in my opinion. The teriyaki sauce was good and I loved the crunchy perfectly cooked vegetables I had with it. Our sushi took a little while longer to get there, but the Boston roll, the Philadelphia roll, and the tasty roll I ordered were great, it is definitely not traditional sushi like you would get in Japan, but it is a rather good version of Americanized sushi. (Yes, I like cream cheese on "sushi".) if you were into that kind of sushi, this place was reasonably good. It was fresh, tasty, and worth the price in my opinion. My second round was teriyaki chicken from the kitchen as well as a Crunchyroll, and they were both really good. The crunchy roll had slightly thick tempura batter on it, but I really liked the smokiness of it with the eel sauce and sweet chili sauce. My Surprising favorite was the tasty roll. This place is very similar to the place on hull Street, although it does have fewer options for some things. Not everything posted on the menu online was on the in-store menu, I would've loved some hibachi vegetables and cucumber salad, but the things we did get are definitely much closer than driving to Midlothian and reasonably priced. We also loved the decor since there are paper fans, and lanterns and umbrellas everywhere. I expect we will be back every time We are starving and wanting to do all you can eat sushi.

This place is amazing to eat sushi! The servers to the cooks and the sushi chefs are wonderful! It's our place for sushi from now on!

We were greeted and seated quickly. The service was very nice and they were decorated cute for Valentine's Day. The food was pretty basic but not any less than you'd expect from an all you can eat place. There was a few mix-ups with some of the food we ordered not coming and receiving some food that we did not order. The food was not too memorable but I will say that the green tea ice cream was delicious. I'm not sure if I would go back but it wasn't a totally terrible experience.

I really had high hopes. Came at 8 on a Thursday. Super trash. Sushi rice was mushy. All the rolls gave me that "you're going to regret eating this" feeling. Tempura shrimp was overly oily. Like they used my plate as a dry rack. Waiter was either new or had checked out mentally already. Atmosphere was nice though.

We visited this place for two days in a row. The food was incredible! The sashimi was exceptionally fresh. We truly enjoyed both the food and the service. Considering the price we paid, it exceeded my expectations.

I am so glad we have an all you can eat sushi place near us finally. Driving all the way to Hull St before was tiring! This place was great. The wait time was about 30mins for a table of 2, the server was great and answered all our questions, the sushi was fantastic and and Rainbow Naruto roll was the best to me, try that one for sure. They have a bit of everything sushi, hibachi, including desserts. They do not have their liquor license yet as of when we went Friday.

We were actually impressed by the food. They used fresh shrimp non of that precook tiny shrimps. Some things are different every ayce places I would give this place another try for their dinner menu since we went for lunch this first time.

I heard of this place only from a whisper. A simple question, "Do you like Asian food?" And-- yeah,…read moreof course I do! So I immediately accepted the invitation to go. Boy was I lucky that I did! The place was absolutely awesome! It was an entirely unique experience for me being a spin on the "All You Can Eat" style of dining, giving you all the tools you need for a delicious rice bowl (or noodle bowl! There are loads of options!). When you walk in, the decor is superb with a super clean atmosphere and generally good looking. Me and my party were immediately sat down, and given a rundown on how everything works and the ordering cards. And we went to work, there was a whole smorgasbord of toppings. From noodles, to broccoli, lamb, beef, and even some crazy stuff like squid and many-many kinds of fish! There was so much variety that unless you're lame you can get something new, fresh, n' delicious every time you visit. I selected my mix of ingredients, then my sauces, and the Chef grabbed it right up and began cooking. In no time at all our bowls were ready to eat. I can't really remember all the stuff I put I'n my bowl but It ALL was absolutely delicious. High variety, fast service, and delicious taste? all the makings of a 5/5, if you're in the area and are looking for something unique, go to Yummy Bowl immediately!

My husband and I usual order are 2 bowls, 1 or 2 sushi rolls and then we will ask for a small empty bowl to make a portion for my 2-year-old. However, today I ordered 1 bowl for me so I can share it with my 2 y.o, as usual. My husband didn't feel like eating so he had a soft shell crab appetizer, and 1 volcano roll. I made a portion for my son in an empty bowl so my husband can feed him so I can eat. And that's how the harassment started. We got harassed TWICE, BACK TO BACK from 2 different servers. The first server straight approached us with the menu, pointed at the policy part and say "we have this policy no sharing yada yada". I stared back at him and said, "We are not sharing, my son is 2 y.o, what do you mean I cannot share my food with my son." "Oh I thought your husband is eating from that bowl." My husband said " I do not eat it, this is for my son, and I am feeding him." "Oh okay I just want to make sure that you know the policy." Then he walked away. No sorry or whatsoever from him. Five minutes later a second server approached and said the exact same thing. I stared at her and again said my son is 2 what do you mean?! She said oh sorry I thought that was your husband was eating. So my son just eat and breathe air? My husband couldn't stand anymore and told them how harassed they are to us right now. We ended the meal and packed everything home. At least this time the second server apologized and said that's her 2nd day working here. Nevertheless, there are multiple ways to handle the situation. I used to be a server for 5+ years and I really don't like the way they approach and make assumptions about us sharing food like that, at all. They didn't even bother asking if my husband was eating from that small bowl or not to start with. I later told my husband, "if I was the one fed our son from the small bowl, they probably wouldn't said that to us." My husband said "Feeding the kid is both mom and dad's duty. Who says only the mother can feed the kid?" The menu says 3 and under are exclusive from the no sharing policy. It doesn't say anything about if one person eat the bowl, the entire party has to order bowl or If one person eat sushi roll, the entire party has to do the same. Negative!!!! To the manager, owner: if you want, go ahead and check the camera to see if my husband ever touch or eat my food from my bowl or from my son's bowl on April 8, 2026 from 11-11:50am, table 2.

Wifey-pooh got a small bowl of miso soup, and since I had miso envy, I ordered my own bowl--it was delicious. The food arrived promptly and was ridiculously photogenic. I snapped a quick pic and proceeded to devour my plate of sushi. The salmon melted in my mouth, and the sashimi was equally delicious. Sarah asked me if it was better than Wegmans, and I emphatically nodded yes. The California rolls were also pleasant, topped with little orange micro roe. The Queen enjoyed her bento box, and we were both delighted with our experience at Kyoto. I'm already looking forward to our next visit.
