Qdoba is solid. Have ordered food here a few times and never had any issues. Went a few weeks ago and had probably the worst experience ever. I was just getting off work and had class in the evening, so I decided to order ahead to save a little time - BIG mistake. I arrived 5-10 after the expected pick up time, checked in, was told my order wasnt ready. Fine, not a big deal. I just hung out and waited. A manager and 2-3 employees. Customers coming in going through the line, paying leaving. Other customers coming in picking up their orders and leaving. Im patient when it comes to customer service. But after 10 minutes I went back up to check the status. Was told it wasnt ready. So i waited more. Another 10 minutes passed and more customers come in and get their bowls made and leave. Now im running behind, getting a little annoyed, potentially going to be late to my class. Another 5 or so minutes go by and I check in again with the manager, considering I am watching employees stand around and wait for customers to walk in. Eventually I had enough and requested for my food. There was a bag behind the counter with one of my two burritos in it. No one had made my second burrito. Eventually it was made and given to me. One of my burritos was cold, obviously had been sitting alone on the counter for a good while. The second one was half wrapped, spilling out, and missing ingredients. Had to rush home, late for class, didnt have time to bring this to the staffs attention. Absolutely ridiculous and negligent customer service I received. I figured ordering ahead would save me time, wrong. Complete waste of time. Awful customer service, especially from the manager on duty. No apologies. I wasnt rude, I stayed patient. But to receive my food (half cold & half carelessly put together) after being sitting in the restaurant for 30 minutes is WILD to me. Honestly, Ive ate here before and had no issues, but the service and food quality was garbage that day. Shame on me (apparently) for trying to save time and order ahead. Learned my lesson. So the last time I tried coming in here on a Saturday around dinner time, they were out of rice. That still baffles me, but generally Qdoba is better quality (to me anyways) than Chipotle. So, I was going to drop in today since they had a 4/2 promotion for BoGo burritos. I park outside and a worker comes up to my car, explains that their register isn't working and the manager was going to Microcenter/Best Buy/etc trying to get whatever hardware they needed and that they're temporarily closed. Unreal, no rice last time and computer problems this time? This place needs to get serious or they'll go the way of the Dodo. I ended up going over to Nick & Jake's instead. read more

Located off of Metcalf in an extremely safe and easy to access area Qdoba is your alternative to the other "burrito giant" out there and if I'm confessing, a darn good one at that. The place is always clean and parking is plentiful. The people are very cool, willing to go the extra mile and don't loose their cool with that "one customer in front of you" (you know of whom I speak!) Speed is always a variable but I'm not complaining as I don't mind waiting in line for a reasonable amount of time (I always come in to make it, never online). Another great thing is the menu is large and easy to read in case this is your first visit. As for the apps, the guac and chips are pretty good and chunky. I wish they'd use tomatoes in it, but hey it's not bad at all as at least they use the right amount of cilantro and hold back on the salt considering the chips are salty. I got my Xwife the queso and she loved it. I'm not big on queso but I must admit this wasn't bad for "fast food." It was smooth with a touch of heat while being smooth with chunks of veggies in there. Fair warning, I don't do heat so I can't assist with that aspect. Finally, my kids got the cheese quesadillas and for the review I asked how it was and they said "good" while nothing survived; that's a good thing. Time for the big boys, the burritos! Something I wish they along with all except one other is offer different flavor tortillas! Alas, my dream is over so let me get into the "meat and potatoes" of this review. To be fair I've only tried the grilled Adobo chicken which I found was extremely flavorful. Moreover, it was tender and appeared to be thigh meat which is juicier than breast which lesser cooks tend to overcook and dry out. My burrito had Pico de Gallo which gave it a slight heat but earthy goodness in terms of peppers, onions and tomatoes. The chile corn salsa wasn't bad either as I always love that sweet popcorn gives when biting into it. I also added shredded cheese and sour cream to round out the experience (I should try the cotija sometime....) Overall, it came together well although it wasn't very adventurous. Slow and steady my friends, slow and steady. To finish up the review, Qdoba offers a good alternative to the big fish out there, giving a few more options but staying safe at the same time. I found the restaurant clean and the drink station was well supplied without being sticky from the soda machines during a busy time of day. The people are nice, even the line where they assemble was relatively clean. I highly recommend giving it a try if, and I'm quoting Seinfeld here, "you know it's the same but different." read more

Visited this location on a weekend evening, this time being my first visit to Qdoba. We were greeted promptly, and everything was served as expected. I got a taco salad bowl with Chalula chicken. The price for a bowl entree, sack of chips, and a drink was just below $17, and it is a lot of food. They have Coke Freestyle, and all the choices were available today. The restaurant seemed relatively clean. The servers were not exceptionally helpful this time for a newbie. When compared to other build-your-entree tex-mex restaurants, you should expect a satisfying experience here with a lot of food for the price. read more

We waited for a little bit longer when one of the guys asked what we wanted and I explained this was our first time here and wanted to know if it was possible to get the steak as a burrito option. He rudely and agitatedly replied, you need to create your own option. He was extremely unhappy about my question and was clearly inpatient so we decided to leave and go to Chipotle where we've never been treated rudely as we were here at this Overland Park location. To the employees who worked on 10/31/2023, should be fired. Every mobile order had to wait an additional 40 minutes for their food due to the workers only taking the walk in customers. I had purchased a drink and they did not even refill the container. I was not even given a refund for the drink i didnt get, nor the food i had to wait almost an hour for. I recently visited this Qdoba location and have done so in the past but this time the person assisting was clearly frustrated, impatient with my daughter, and we were the only 2 people in the place, no one else in line. While I could see she had a lot being unpacked behind her that frustration should NEVER be passed to the customer and it was. First impressions are important to me and this left a terrible impression on a dedicated customer that has spent hundreds of dollars at Qdoba... very disappointing. read more

The ingredients just don't compare with their #1 competitor especially the hottest salsa. We shared some nachos which I did like and wish their competitor had. I came in on a Friday night with a group of friends; we were all intent on trying out the first Qdoba in Overland Park. The restaurant was clean and spacious inside and the ordering format was the same as Chipotle's. I absolutely love how they don't charge for queso and guac! But price of these sauces are probably included in the meal because my chicken burrito bowl was about $8.50 after tax, slightly higher than what Chipotle charges for theirs. Also, they give you 3 different choices for queso: their 3-cheese queso, bacon queso and queso verde. As a queso lover, all three options sounded DELICIOUS. I went with the 3-cheese queso but will be coming back soon to try the other 2! My chicken burrito bowl was TASTY! The best parts were the chicken and queso. The only gripe I have is the price and how much they give you in comparison to Chipotle. The fact that I finished my bowl says a lot because I RARELY finish an entree portion. Maybe I was super hungry that day. Maybe the food was super good and I gobbled the whole thing up. But regardless, I feel like Chipotle gives you way more while charging less. All in all, I recommend Chipotle if you don't mind skipping on the queso but as for me, queso is a must so I will be BACK! read more

I'm a big Qdoba fan, but this location has a lot of work to do still. The floor next to the food prep counter had discarded sliced veggies scattered about and guacamole in the shredded cheese. The ToGo serving of chips for the chips and queso is embarrassingly skimpy (especially since dine in customer get free chip refills) and the young man running the register was clueless. Ordered 2 plain quesadillas for the kids (tortilla and light cheese), and it ran up at $15.60. Asked the manager if that was right and he said no and showed the cashier how to adjust it and then proceeded to tell me how cheap it was and that "he should be yelling at me about how cheap it was". Comparing QDOBA to Chipotle is a pretty natural thing to do, and while 'everything' is included in the price at QDOBA, I just don't find myself craving a QDOBA burrito like I do Chipotle. When I first walked in, I was hyped with all of the options and choices, but I think Chipotle is onto something with how they do things. They have way fewer options, but everything there is really good and fresh. Here everything was still good, it just didn't hit the high bar Chipotle sets. This review may sound a bit more harsh than I'm intending, as I think QDOBA still offers good food, it just isn't something I find myself wanting all that often. read more

Visited for the first time and had a fantastic experience. We were offered samples of the different meats so we could choose one we would love. (Seriously, that was SUCH a nice touch!) The people behind the counter were smiling, engaging, cracking jokes and making great suggestions... and can you believe that you can get queso and guacamole on any order without an up charge? Somewhere angels are singing! Our burritos were so stuffed with deliciousness that the foil wrappers were nearly bursting. I especially loved the addition of grilled peppers and onions... what a great option! The dinning room and patio offer lots of seating some of it feeling very private with the high backed couches & round booth tables. Love this place, we will be back! read more

I liked that brown rice was available, and there was no upcharge for guac or the three queso options. My burrito bowl (about $7.50) tasted great, with a fair amount of tasty grilled chicken and plenty of other fresh ingredients. I judge a fast food chain location after cleanliness, attentiveness, and how well stocked it is. It's the first QDOBA in Overland Park and honestly it fulfills all points. It provides a good alternative to the other Mexican burrito chain and offers some other items such as chili and soups. I've been here a couple of times and everything is consistently nice. And the attitude of the staff here is incredibly rude! They don't pay attention to you. They look like they are irritated looking at you and just want to get over with their shift. Never returning. Went in last night for a quick bite after relying on my fellow YELPER's reviews. I told the guy working behind the counter I hadn't been in before and asked a few questions. He said unlike that Chipotle, everything is included in the prices. Great news considering how much I love guacamole! I decided on two tacos- one of the lime chicken and one of smoked brisket. I asked to have the cilantro dressing on the chicken taco but was told they don't make it anymore. Both tacos were good but I preferred the brisket as the chicken was kind of like the chicken you get on skewers at Chinese food buffets. Kind of like a dark meat but not really... The good things about my visit include: both employees behind the counter were nice, I was charged the correct amount for my food, got a cup for some free water, and there was not a wait when I walked in. My concern was I only saw one table free of other people's food debris. No baskets and cups, but pieces and crumbs of food.Being of (reasonably) sound mind, I grabbed it. There was only one man sitting at a table when I went in, so we're talking about a lot of tables here... While there were a few people that came in to order take out while I was noshing on my tacos, it wasn't very busy. So... dirty tables are not only unappetizing to sit at, they can spread other people's germs and cross contamination. This was my first time in, so maybe it was just an isolated incident? What is the point of having an app for ordering ahead and setting the time for pickup when you still spend 23 minutes at the restaurant waiting for food? If I knew I could get my money back, I would of canceled my order and went somewhere else but instead I had to wait and be late back to work and not have anytime to eat lunch.
