Lunch today was at QDOBA Mexican Eats. QDOBA is similar to Chipotle and has about the same set up. The restaurant is spacious, clean, and it wasn't crowded at 11:03 am. After asking the lady taking my order if the chicken was breast meat(it's a mixture of breast and thigh meat) and if the steak was tender(she replied some times). My order was to go, and I decided to create my own bowl with the brisket birria. They do have other protein options to choose from, they have ground beef and pork as well. In my bowl I got cilantro lime rice, black beans, corn salsa, romaine lettuce, queso, guacamole, and sour cream drizzle. At the time of ordering I will admit that I did not know that birria is some times made with lamb or goat. Since I didn't know if QDOBA used lamb or goat(I later found out they use 100% beef)I could not eat the brisket. (I don't eat lamb or goat)I took it out of my bowl and replaced it with my own grilled white meat chicken. The bowl was big enough for two people and after adding some extra seasoning (it was a little bland)it was quite tasty. They do offer a mini bowl and a bowl without a protein which is what I'll order on a future visit. The mixture of dark and white meat chicken, just does not do it for me.
