As a patient feeling a little nervous, the staff always made sure that I was comfortable and relieved me of my stress. The staff in the outpatient surgery center were amazing. They listened to my concerns and made me feel comfortable prior to surgery. The surgery staff, doctors and surgeons, nurses all did an amazing job. I feel very lucky to be here with my new vision thanks to this facility who helped me with my cataract surgery. I would definitely brag about this office, doctors, surgeons and staff to anyone. The most impressive part about the staff is that everyone is so knowledgeable about the eyes. Great cookies up front.

I especially love that big TV I'm disappointed in that I've had to come so much but it wasn't the doctor's fault that I had lesions on my eyes and that one of the lesions tooki forever to heal. It seemed like so. It's been a long Wait and by the time I finally got here I it was like oh my gosh now what am I they better finally get to this and I had complete trust and I still do complete. Trust in the professionalism capacity of everybody here everyone's been very kind and considered of my disabilities and a lot of times I just don't understand or follow things cause I'm almost 70 and I really appreciate the general friendliness of everybody. I do have a comment in that not all the doctors in introduce themselves and I want to be a person to them and I want them to be a person of me and my memory is pretty lousy anyway, so I might not remember their name even if they say it, but it gives sort of an imp personality because it's a kind of intimate thing and so when there's a whole team and you can't quite figure out which one is coming this time that would be the one thing I would appreciate more maybe to be assigned just one doctor and then that would be my doctor yeah but so far all of them are great. It's just like a family of 10 or something. The materials are first rate to help with the financing was critical. The explanations have always been great when the problems I had and that's just cause I'm an older person but maybe I love your older persons or older persons here I had difficulty managing emails I just in my instructions were sent by email and they almost can't cancel my surgery yesterday because I didn't know I wasn't supposed to drink anything. I hadn't had anything to eat since breakfast but I had it just a small tiny. I mean it was five hours but not six and I did have something to drink and I just I didn't know I didn't know this was IPO cause I didn't think they were going to use injectable anesthesia. I was told only Local just a local glam station so I wasn't thinking NPO but it turned out OK because they forgave me for one hour and 4 ounces but that that's the kind of thing if they wanted to be stickers they could've shut the whole thing down and may you reschedule and maybe you know charge me For Sweet getting wasted for that much time so overall I would just have to say you guys have made it so easy and so pleasant and I'm one eye down and one eye to go and I was really kind of surprised this lens right here is supposed to be for near too far, but I could almost read line one on that sheet you just gave me and that was super tiny. I'm sure it was a sign for people with near help but I got like four out of the five letters so thank you so much for for being so wonderful and again I said that this is the best lobby I've ever seen in a hospital or clinical situation thank you.

I went in for my free screening to see if I was a viable candidate and everyone in the office during that visit was wonderful. They answered all of my questions that I had about the various tests that they were performing and they answered them in a professional, but pleasant manner. Yesterday was my surgery day and everything went to plan. My mother drove me to the Alamo Vision Center, the surgery took about 15 mins and I was immediately able to see clearly, leafs on trees etc. I was sensitive to light immediately afterwards, which is normal, and after arriving home and taking about a 2 hour nap I could see so well I could watch tv, read, etc with no problem. The next day(today) I went in to the office for my check up and Dr. Rashid said that everything looked perfect and I could read the 20:15 line for the vision check! I absolutely recommend getting LASIK from Dr. Rashid!

I guessed it might be cataracts. I searched for "best cataract surgeon in San Antonio", which led us to San Antonio Eye Specialists. Oh. My. Goodness. What a welcome and helpful difference in doctors, and outcomes! SA Eye Specialists are in a beautiful facility that is sparkling clean and welcoming. The office staff are friendly, and efficient. The medical staff are phenomenal, from our initial screenings & testing all the way up to and including Dr. Membreno, who now has replaced both my cataracts with the Light Adjustable Lens, while my husband went with Dr. Membreno's suggestion of a Toric lens for his situation. We are both absolutely delighted! I've been through an additional, unexpected (by me) procedure after there was clouding connected to my new lenses, before we could start the light adjustments (I think the "clouding" is called YAG or something? Apparently extremely common; I was lucky mine occurred - and was corrected - prior to the adjustments to my lenses.). All was handled quickly, with everything being explained clearly and thoroughly, from beginning to end. Dr. Membreno is phenomenal, and I'd recommend him in a heartbeat, to anyone with eye concerns. What struck me the most about him initially is his knack for being present: When he's with you, he's 10000% tuned in to YOU. It's as if he has nothing else in the world to concern him aside from you. What a reassuring and comforting experience, especially regarding something as important as your eyes and vision! We now consider San Antonio Eye Specialists our one-and-only eye doctor, as we will be coming here for any & all eye issues we have that fall within their purview. As one who has worn glasses or contacts for ~60 years, saying I'm ecstatic to be able to see is an enormous understatement. Colors are vivid and clear like I don't remember seeing, ever. I'm still undergoing adjustments on the light adjustable lens and yet already I'm able to read fairly well, and crochet, without glasses. Very excited and pleased!

The staff was loudly talking how bad traffic was due to it raining I suspect to share the reason for the office being opened late. This isn't the first time either and rain wasn't a factor previously. Mind you everyone else is expected to be there in time - and all patients were by the way. I was not seen until 8:40 am...a full 30 minutes later with no patient in front of me. I can't even understand this as the lady who ended up attending me was assisting no one else before me. So let's get to this young lady assisting me. Don't get me wrong she was nice but new. New to the machines being used, new to proving instructions on when to blink. She needed to ask for help multiple times, she didn't know how to position the machine against my eye. It was a mess. I had to ask about the consent forms I was signing as she failed to mention there were out of pocket costs if the insurance didn't cover it. And these people weren't even mindful enough to try and make up for their own delays. Just getting the pictures of the eyes took 45 minutes. Then there were no rooms available to be seen an hour an 10 minutes after my original appointment. I was honestly at a loss. I have been here now multiple times due to eye dryness and TLC dropped the ball. I have to work too. I have somewhere to be too but there is just a complete disregard for other people, their own schedules and when TLC even schedules their appointments. Update: at 10:08 AM I went to the front desk as I still had not been seen. The doctor finally walked in said " I read your review and I'm firing you as a patient and you need to leave. I won't charge you but leave." I said OK and what about seeing someone else? He said " I don't care just leave." so I left everyone beware of this place after ruining my vision and pain. This is what I get.

There is no point in wasting my energy being upset or angry at them, but I feel like I need to make this review. This would have been my fourth visit to this office. Every time before that they have been professional, friendly, and thorough. Like most people, my work is currently short-staffed so I am not able to get time off often. When I got my time off approved for today, I called and made an appointment for my yearly check. My appointment was scheduled for 2:20 pm. I arrived ten minutes early at 2:10 pm. There were two other people there before me. I confirmed my appointment and started filling out their required paperwork. As I was filling the paperwork out, a family of five arrived stating that they all had an appointment at 2:20. I thought nothing of it as I know nothing about booking appointments for an eye doctor. I finished filling out my paperwork and turned it in. The two people who arrived before me were called back to start the initial exam. During this time the family of five was still turning in the paperwork for them When the second person before me came back to wait to see the optometrist, I anticipated getting my name called. Instead, the first child of the family of five was called. I was a little frustrated as I had arrived before them and I had completed my paperwork before them. I sat there as all five of the family member were called back. As I tried to be patient the optometrist called the first child back to his office. That is when I realized that I was going to have to wait for all five family members to be seen before I was seen. I asked if there was a fee to cancel my appointment, which at this point I would have gladly paid. They told me, no and I asked to cancel it and I left. As I said I do not know how scheduling appointments should go at an eye doctor, but to me, it is common decency to see the patients in the order that they arrive if you are going to schedule multiple people at the same time. I showed them respect by arriving early and honoring the appointment I made with them. If it has been one or two who arrived after me I probably would have been frustrated, but I would have stayed. I felt very disrespected by the fact that five people who arrived after me were being seen before me. Why even schedule appointments if you cannot respect the person's time that they are taking out of their day to use your services. At this point, I will not be returning to this office. I just want to warn people who have time limitations that this place may not be for them.
