Fresh set with a nice blue-gray color.

So this is strictly a reflection of the work done that day. I went this past Sunday to get an acrylic fill-in on my nails. She informed me that they no longer do acrylic and only do a gel nail process (not to be confused with gel polish). My real nails are long because I have been letting them grow out under the acrylic and the tips have long since grown off in the midst of my trims. So I wanted her to be sure this would be a process similar to what I had before (I just moved from ATL) and she said it was all good. I began soaking my nails off and then she proceeded with the process. She filed and reshaped my nails and started the gel nail process (Official title - Nexgen Nails, I think) The process required her to paint a clear coat on my real nails and then dip them in colored powder (the color I had chosen for that day) that forms the hardened nail. It was actually quite an amazing process. I have only ever seen or had acrylic. Anyway, after about 4 times of dipping and tapping my nails she went back through to buff and clean them up for smoothness. I was definitely skeptical at first but she worked efficiently and was super detailed. (Kelly I believe was her name) As far as service, she seemed very preoccupied with other things going on at the shop so it was hard to get more than a one or two word answer sometimes. However, the quality of work made up for it because I left completely satisfied. Fill-ins from now on will only be $30 but I paid $47 for this initial time. I would recommend them personally and I will be going back because another place I tried in Norwalk was $55 for my nails and nowhere near as clean and polished.

The ugly mess that I got and this is after I politely requested to have the big toe re-done

So far I've had a color gel manicure and a 15 min chair massage here and I am in love!!!…read moreI was so concerned that moving to SoNo would disrupt my "personal service" regimen that took me almost 5 years to perfect in Stamford but instead I found this gem right next to my office building. Their landlord should take care of them a bit better because it was pretty cold and they needed to use heaters but otherwise I think the space is clean, the technicians talented and courteous and the prices are divine. I can't wait to have a pedicure tonight after work!

I don't usually write reviews, but I feel strongly that people should be warned before coming here…read more I booked an appointment for a regular gel manicure and still waited 45 minutes before being taken, despite arriving on time. Once I was finally seated, the experience only got worse. The nail technician completely damaged my natural nails. She aggressively used the electric file and dug into my nails, creating deep ridges in the nail beds. She also filed the sides down so narrowly that each nail ended up jagged, uneven, and poorly shaped. It honestly felt like she lacked basic experience. I immediately went to my regular nail salon to have the gel removed, and even then, gel is still embedded in the grooves that were carved into my nails from the over-filing. I've been told it will take around three months for the damage to fully grow out. When I expressed how upset I was about the condition of my nails, management refused a refund, saying they couldn't refund the manicure because the technician "took her time." Taking time does not excuse destroying someone's nails. I had to ensure management that I also tipped this nail tech before having them agree to refund me. This was my first and last visit. If you care about the health of your natural nails, avoid this place. The damage caused was traumatic and completely unacceptable.

I would say the only person that is lucky, lucky is the owner of this place. They did an OK job,…read morebut was SOOOOO expensive. LIke fancy spa prices. My daughter and I both got mani/pedi and I walked away shell shocked. We live in another state, but yikes! It was nearly $400 for both of us. It would have been at least half where we normally go. I felt very Unlucky that this was the place we stopped into before our family event that night.

I had some time on the afternoon of my visit so I popped in for a pedicure and toe polish change…read more I did not have an appointment. I waited for 35 minutes. This was ok since I didn't have any immediate plans, but if you have a busier day, I would recommend setting up an appointment prior to your service. I opted not to have a pedicure but to only have a polish change because the basin and chair I was assigned to were not the cleanest. Luckily, I had a scarf which I placed on the chair and sat on. I will however give credit to the technician for using a new packet of tools (nail file, cuticle pushing tool, nail buffer). I observed that this was the standard for each customer. My technician stopped my service in twithout notice to go and get groceries outside and bring them inside to the back of the establishment. The technician was helpful with helping me pick a color. The one I picked would have been too light. I requested a square shape but got a round shape. I don't hate it, but it wasn't what I asked for. The technician offered me a water after the service on my way out. They have a rewards program. After 10 visits, you can either get a free manicure or eyebrow or lip wax. I would try this service again with an appointment and on a less busy day.
