I called beforehand and asked if they were taking walk-ins and they said yes, so I came in and they sat me down immediately and the girl started getting to work. when she got to cutting the dead skin off of my cuticles, she wasn't cutting straight across. she was pulling downward and essentially ripping off my dead skin and started to make me bleed on my pinky. a couple days later and it still hurts. but, that is okay to me, people make mistakes and she apologized. I do appreciate how beautiful my nails turned out and how efficient she was with the application. they are my natural nails so she filed down the edges and went in with a Dremel and it didn't take long at all. the shape and length of all of my nails are even. I overall had a really great experience, and it was only $29 for a gel set, but maybe trim your cuticles beforehand. read more

I used to love going here for all of my waxing and nail needs however, I am so disappointed with my last visit. I got a full set of acrylic nails and they were not done well at all. They came out looking like I had them done a week ago. They aren't filed well. They look like they were done by someone who was learning, not a professional. I am very disappointed!!! read more

So this is strictly a reflection of the work done that day. I went this past Sunday to get an acrylic fill-in on my nails. She informed me that they no longer do acrylic and only do a gel nail process (not to be confused with gel polish). My real nails are long because I have been letting them grow out under the acrylic and the tips have long since grown off in the midst of my trims. So I wanted her to be sure this would be a process similar to what I had before (I just moved from ATL) and she said it was all good. I began soaking my nails off and then she proceeded with the process. She filed and reshaped my nails and started the gel nail process (Official title - Nexgen Nails, I think) The process required her to paint a clear coat on my real nails and then dip them in colored powder (the color I had chosen for that day) that forms the hardened nail. It was actually quite an amazing process. I have only ever seen or had acrylic. Anyway, after about 4 times of dipping and tapping my nails she went back through to buff and clean them up for smoothness. I was definitely skeptical at first but she worked efficiently and was super detailed. (Kelly I believe was her name) As far as service, she seemed very preoccupied with other things going on at the shop so it was hard to get more than a one or two word answer sometimes. However, the quality of work made up for it because I left completely satisfied. Fill-ins from now on will only be $30 but I paid $47 for this initial time. I would recommend them personally and I will be going back because another place I tried in Norwalk was $55 for my nails and nowhere near as clean and polished. read more

I want to start by saying I never leave reviews this is my first. This Nail spot is the absolute worst. I had a bad experience with pricing on a pedicure a year ago(& vowed to never go again) but last night I just wanted to get out of the house. I went to Q nails because it's close to my home. I asked for acrylic, she ignored me and did powder and dipped my nails only twice. I've previously done powder and typically dipped 3-4 times. Long story short I paid $48 and woke up this morning showered and when I got out I noticed the "Gel" polish was peeling on both thumbs and on other nails had air pockets. I'm beyond furious. This business should be ashamed. read more

If you can't do the design just say so but to pretend to have the skill for an extra $5 is super irritating. The nail tech grabbed the blk polish without asking and I said "No, there's no blk in the picture. It's dark purple, brown, and fine white lines". She says they don't have brown. I let her proceed with the blk but then she grabs silver polish and I tell her again it's dark purple & white. She goes "It look betta". The big toe on the left foot was so bad. It was my first time since high school I've had to ask the tech to re-due the job. Unfortunately, she got an attitude especially when her regular customer arrived and now my toes look like I killed a daddy long legs and left the insect there for next Halloween. Good thing it's raining for Memorial Day weekend because these toes are a bust. I won't be going again. read more

First things first: this review is strictly for waxing and nothing else. For all I know, this place has the greatest pedicures in the entirety of the Western world. Unfortunately, after my experience here, I'm way too afraid to go back and find out. After making impromptu plans for a beach trip this weekend, I walked in midday without an appointment and asked if I could get a bikini wax. Credit due for efficiency: I was whisked into a back room and getting the hair ripped off of my nethers in about two minutes flat. The esthetician was okay -- not horrible by any means, but the wax was excessively hot. She did start blowing on it pre-application after the first couple times that she burned me, but when you're hyperventilating with the effort to cool the stuff down, maybe it's time to adjust the heat a tad? Because ouch. But, BUT!, the real magic happened about ten minutes in, when -- midway through the process -- suddenly the door opened and another client, along with her 5 year-old daughter, was hustled in for an eyebrow wax and put on the table RIGHT NEXT TO ME. No warning. No asking if I minded the lack of privacy. Not even a, "Oh, by the way, we have a policy of de-fuzzing your howdy-do in front of a live studio audience." I was only half-done and covered in wax, so I had to stay still (and completely silent) while she finished up, pretending the entire time like I was totally fine with all of this, including the part where the 5 year-old kept walking over and staring at my vaaaahhh OH GOD I CAN'T EVEN. I'm not sure who was more traumatized, me or the kid. No, wait, yes I am. ME. Definitely, definitely me. So, there you have it: quick, efficient, slightly painful waxing with a side of complete and total humiliation. Risk it if you dare. read more

The sanitation is top notch. All the equipment is sanitized. Emery boards should be changed after each use though. It's $25 for a mani/pedi on the weekends. My mother in law got her calluses removed for an extra $6 but this should have been included in the regular price of the pedicure. Overall, excellent service. read more

Called 3 times during the week to make sure that they open at 9:30am on Saturday, each person who answered the phone said they would be open at 9;30am. Saturday morning came, I got there at 9:30am waited till 10am and no one showed up to open the salon..... really?!? read more

I went there for the first this past Saturday and that was the LAST time I ever go there. I called ahead for an appointment but still had to wait over a half hour to get in a chair when there were at least two people available. When I called I told them that I needed a pedicure and a fill-in. It wasn't until after I received my pedicure and sat down in the chair for my fill-in, that they informed me that they didn't do acrylic. Ok, that was fine, I settled for the gel powder. They kept trying to push all of these other more expensive services on me and I kept refusing. In turn they did a horrible job on my nails and my feet are not smooth enough for my liking. I'm not satisfied at all by any of the services I received that day and I DO NOT recommend anyone go to them for anything. read more

Wow... that's all I can say. I went in for a fill b.c my place was impossible to get to... I go in they just say what you want? They sat me down they talked to eachother the whole time very high pitch voices she kept stabbing me with her own nails she rushed noone else was in there??? So why rush she finished in 20mins for a fill?? I hate my nails one hand is painted darker then the other and they look fake... so I went home and had to reshape and paint... so do not go there.... read more

They charge $25 for a fill and did a bad rush job....2 days later my nail lifted. When back to the same girl and all she did was lift it n place glue on it. On four days in it has lifted again!!!! To think I was checking out there services to see if I could throw a spa day for 12 ladies!!!!!NOT!!!! DON'T THINK SO!!! when you walk in the front entrance it the first lady on your right that did my nails!!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

This place is so insanely bad, it should be on one of those rescue shows. To start, I walked in and noticed that they had two tvs (with volume) set to two different shows - a Sci-Fi slasher film and HGTV. That would have been fine if the staff didn't then proceed to scream over each other and the aforementioned tvs from different sides of the salon. Then, my manicurist pulls out a rag with brown stains (blood?) for me to put my feet on. All-in-all everything in the place is sticky, wet, stained or down-right gross. Don't do what I did - listen to the reviews and avoid Q Nails at all costs. read more
