I made two visits to the Salt Cave in the last couple of years with my most recent being a week or…read moretwo ago and had good experiences. I scheduled both over the phone with their friendly staff. I found parking on the main street, but you can find parking easy behind their building in a municipal lot. The front waiting room/retail area was clean, bright and welcoming. My first trip was a reflexology session in the main cave for a foot massage. I'll admit I was a bit skeptical of the cave thinking it was gimmicky, but it was very relaxing and the therapist did a great job on loosening me up and hitting all my pressure points! I didn't have much drainage in my sinuses like I was hoping, but everyone's different. It would be nice to bring along the wife to have a session in the cave together. On my most recent visit I had a salt stone massage with CDB oil in a regular massage room, but they have a salt stone inside. They add CDB oil for muscle relief and hot stones on the legs. I would have liked more pressure, but I still felt great afterwards. I can't say whether the CDB oil did much for me, but that was the first time I had ever had hot stones applied during a massage and I want more! Afterwards I felt loose, refreshed and very relaxed. I wish I had more time to frequent them more often, but I would definitely repeat. Thanks to everyone over at Salt Cave Newtown!

Where do I even start!? The short version of this review if you're looking for an amazing salon…read morethat glows with caring and professional staff this is the place for you! Okay, long version. About three days ago I decided I wanted to cut my hair after not getting it cut in over a year. My first choice was Salon La Vogue after I saw their other reviews and checked out some of their pictures here on yelp. I called in to see if I could get an appointment for as soon as possible. Right away from my conversation on the phone I knew I had found the right place. I expressed my concerns about my hair and what sort of hair I had which was met with understanding and reassuring answers, so I booked an appointment! Today when I walked in I was greeted by, literally, everyone working there. For someone who is always nervous about getting my haircut this was amazing! Gabby was my stylist who listened to what I wanted and even went as far as to talking me through how to style my hair after I leave the salon. Needless to say I could say so many glowing things but I'll keep it to this; this salon is a hidden gem that is worth a worlds worth of praise. I 100% recommend booking an appointment here, I can say for myself I can't wait to go back a check out the number of other services they have to offer!

Partook in a sixty minute deep tissue massage with CBD oil and aromatherapy…read more Dana gave me the massage and she did a very good job. I felt very relaxed heading out to my car and should really partake in massages more often. She had a few good pressure points beneath the skull that really alleviated some tension and the time she spent on my calf muscles really helped with the leg tension I have been having from working 8 plus hours sitting at a desk. The reason for the two star deduction - I bought a groupon for the sixty minute massage and at checkout also purchased a gift of one, two massages at $110.00 or so total, not bad. When I went to the receptionist after the massage and wanted to set up my second massage they said the gift can not be used for yourself. It honestly felt like they were rushing me out the door and weren't even interested in securing repeat business. The receptionist went on to say it reads limit one per customer.....hey I am not going to argue my way into a massage that I already paid for not worth the stress espescially after a massage but right on the fine print it reads, "Can only be redeemed by yourself. Well, which is it... a gift to be used for someone else or to be redeemed/used by youself? The place missed out on $55.00 either way as I already received my partial credit back from groupon and will not be returning. If you come here I am sure you may have a nice massage but why bother giving them your business when the owner was right behind the receptionist and didn't say two words during this entire transaction. (If you ask me they are trying to draw in new business with the gift purchases but I am pretty sure I am not the first person they rubbed the wrong way in hindsight pun intended) Do yourself a favor and go to any other massage location. As always people SYOY!!!

I went 2x in the last two weeks and was highly disappointed at how much the people who work there talk to one another while providing service. Or the workers who aren't actively massaging are talking very loudly and doing other work that always seems to include loud banging. I think they need to enforce a whisper rule and they need to better train their therapists for a more consistent experience. In addition to that their basement smelled like cigarette smoke when I went recently which was gross. I said something and someone just sprayed something in the air. I recently had Ada and she was phenomenal especially if you like a deep tissue massage. I know I am paying for what I get and yes I will continue to go back but how they care for the building and how their staff act are basic elements they need to address.

There was no communication whatsoever beforehand about pressure, avoiding certain areas, etc. The entire massage was extremely painful (which is saying something because I usually love a lot of pressure). There was not one minute I was relaxed as the lady was very aggressively rubbing my back and digging into the same spot over and over again. It felt like she was taking her anger out on me or something. I left upset that I even paid for a service like that even though it was cheap. (I should've taken that as a warning sign) A few hours later, I am left with horrible back pain and sore in places I never even knew I could be sore. Not to mention that the massage ended with her knocking her knuckles on my head then suddenly an alarm buzzing to which she said "Finish" then ran out the room. It felt like I was in the twilight zone. I will never return
