I went for lunches. It has a big Salad Bar, a few hot dishes (chicken and beef), bread, pizza, dessert, soup, fruit and drinks stations for around $13. I can't complain, I think it is a good deal! read more

I've read other reviews, and I won't deter what they've said. However, there were changes that I didn't expect since my last visit (which has been a while). The salad bar, hot bar, soups, and breads are excellent as always. The changes that disappointed me was (1) Coke products instead of Pepsi products (go ahead but include Coke Zero, please); and (2) pizza instead of fresh mini muffins. Not sure why change 2, but I'm sure it's for the kids that come in. Frankly, pizza can be found at Pizza Ranch buffet, so this isn't a plus in my book. I'm going to safely assume that fresh mini muffins are added to the menu for Sunday brunch. My friend and I were also there for Saturday lunch, so the parking lot was a nightmare (close to Whole Foods and other stores in a split-design strip mall). read more

Been going here occad for years on and off, really appreciate the large salad bar selection... fresh and tasty! Hot foods, limit selection, are generally great too... This place is more about the salad though! Nice variety of drinks, including coffee. read more

Food is good variety and very tasty. Tray pickup guy is a little crabby, though. Guess you can't expect much at minimum. () We won't be leaving a tip this time. read more

I went to Qcumbers with my extended family of eight, twice in the morning and once at night and we were so happy each time!! My daughter loves the waffles and delicious orange juice from the morning buffet, my son loved both the cactus soup and chicken-noodle soup, at the evening buffet and I loved the spiced adobe-style meat in the evening, too. I find the veggie bar to be soooo generous and fresh, light and healthy!! I love this place !! read more

We went for a sunday brunch & we were pleasantly surprised. Our initial instinct, college/university cafeteria. The choice of food was unlimited with a great variety of veggies as salad bar, pasta salad, fruit salad, variety of breakfast items, desserts, drinks & coffee & teas. Everything is self serve. It was worth trying. read more

The fresh vegetables, the soups and the the breads are good. The fruit leaves much to be desired. It used to be better in the past. The water melon and the cantaloupes look rather tired. I haven't met any strawberries in long time. The hot dishes were also a disappointment: The rice was dry, poor selection, and over all not inviting. The muffins taste like baking soda. What happened to the guacamole you used to serve 5 years ago? read more

I think this place really blows personally. Meat iadry and flavorless even if it's labeled "tomato basil chicken. I have to 0/10. Disappointed. read more

The husband and I are parents to four prepubescent boys who all like to eat a lot, but not the same things. We've got a vegetarian, a meat lover, a pb&j aficionado, and one who'll try just about anything. This can make mealtime pure hell. Going out solves the problem but yeesh, the cost. Enter "kids eat free" nights. A concept we have come to know and love. Really, really love. At Q Cumbers this wonderful event occurs every Monday night. Actually, it's not technically "free" as they do charge a buck per child. Close enough. We are not complaining. Think of Q Cumbers as an OCB you can actually stand. Skip the lame hot entrees and just put together a really delicious salad from one of the best salad bars in town, or have a bowl of decent soup. Then sit back and let your kids load up their own plates with veggies, fruit, muffins, and jello and then load them up again. It's the autonomy they love. And no matter what they choose, it's going to be healthier than McNuggets and fries. For dessert, it's a bowl (or two) of frozen yogurt with a variety of sprinkles on top. Just so you know: The husband despises the buffet floor plan here which he insists (every time we go) is designed for maximum congestion. But, he's the type who spends all of his driving time mad at someone. Me? I'm Type B and don't even notice. Bonus tip: The plastic bowls they provide for the frozen yogurt are much too small and the soup bowls are too warm. The kids have solved the dilemma by getting a soup bowl early, filling it with ice, and by the time they're ready for dessert, they're all set with a large, cold bowl. And: After dinner, take the kids down the stairs to Centennial Lakes. We've rented paddle boats there (only $6.00 per hour!) and cruised around for an hour or so. They also have mini-golf and croquet courses set up. read more

All that roughage? Two bathroom stalls? Seriously? Eek! Methinks not. I realize that my earlier review makes me sound like an ogre, and I probably am one, but that was what I felt then. As for the food, I was astounded. No matter what a person's food preference or need is, they'll find it here. (Mine, personally, is gluten-free, and there is plenty to choose from.) I know that the roughage is a good thing, and I appreciate it. We were there for my granddaughter's 23rd birthday, and our whole family had a fun time. It was chaotic in a good way...an excellent place to bring children with. (Strangely enough, there was an Amber Alert while we were there...I hope that ended well.) read more

One of my favorite restaurants. Love all the gluten free items. Their buffet can accommodate pretty much any diet.

My husband, my son and I went there yesterday for dinner first time after re-opening. I thought they were trying to sell 'healthy' stuff but now they serve pizza... They remodel the restaurant but layout is basically the same. Because they started serving pizza, they stopped serving muffins. That is so disappointing. They should have expanded the serve area when they remodel the floor, then they didn't have to give up one thing to introduce new stuff. After we came back home my husband started throwing up (and he had to take a day off today since he's still feeling sick). My son and I are totally okay (well, my son had diarrhea this morning though...), so I wonder what he ate but my son and I didn't - Chili, salad, coke... Since Mondays are kids day, there were so many people with kids. I hope no one got sick like my husband. read more

Good food, good price for buffet. Friendly staff. Loved all the gluten-free options

Always a great place to get a nice buffet for the whole family. It's clean, and food is tasty. Home style approach to hot dishes is an all time classic. read more

I think the folks that condemn buffets in general are missing the point. Minnesota is a GREAT place to live or to visit. Usually, however, "salad bar" means iceberg lettuce and jello. Maybe cottage cheese, if you're lucky. This is a great buffet (I'll define great in just a bit) which is clean, fresh, and full of light. In this case, great means it has a large selection of fresh and delicious food, everything from entrees to dessert (and much in between). If you want to get a LOT of food, this may be the place, but you probably would be just as happy with OCB. If you want to be surprised about the quality and range of the salad bar, this is it. When we went, there were several interesting soup choices, including chili. It's really hard to wrap your head around a buffet. Usually they are OK and you're just hungry. In this case, I ended up eating more than I should have because I just *had* to try some of the variations because they didn't look gloppy. read more

I first went to Q Cumbers many moons ago when I lived in the area in the early 1990s. I loved it then, and still love it today. Was really glad it was still around. Really beats Old Country Buffet. Fantastic, fresh -- wonderful food. All delicious. Nutritious. And very affordable. Nice staff. Pleasant dining experience. What more could you want? read more

We go here often as a family night out since this place offers a buffet that is adequately priced and has many many options. This place is always quite busy and understandably so. The servers are very friendly and hard working and help you get the best seating available. read more

Awesome!! Salad bar had everything on it! 4 kinds of lettuce mixes, mushrooms, olives, lima beans, garbonzo beans, peas, cherry tomatoes, brocc, cauliflower, chicken, bacon, at least 8 kinds of oils and vinegars, 6-8 dressings, 4 pasta salads and croutons, sesame seeds and other toppings. There were at least 8 other salads veggies there too. The hot food bar was decent. Beef, chili, chips, beans, rice, salsa, guac, pasta with 4 sauces. They also had breadsticks and artisan breads. A full fruit bar and dessert bar. Pop machine and water for beverages. It was $11.25/adult. If you are looking for an awesome salad bar, this is the place to go!!! read more

I love buffets this one is pretty small but has a lot of healthy choice unlike other buffets! I have only been here lunch and dinner and I have always been pleased! big decent salad bar the food is good pretty ordinary buffet but again with healthy choices and it taste like real food! if your not a fan of OCB ( old country buffet ) try this one its not as big or greasy but its good and clean! ehh its okay read more

"Ya, Ya Bet Ya!!! Mn Nice, "Smorgasbord" Not just your Average, Minn. Nice & Bland, "Smorgasbord" Baby!!! Oh No Sir ,Sven & Ole!!! Not just a Salad Bar,not just Church Lady Casseroles, or Entree's left too long under Lampage. They have several excellent Vegetarian Soups & Entree's to please even the most Finicky Veg Head, as well as the Omnivorous. They have theme nights too, Mex Night, etc. Minnesota is the land of Smorgasbord , American Buffet originates here, & usually that is NOT something that we should be proud of, but Q.Cumbers takes "Smorgasbord" (my Scandinavian Roots makes me like to say that) up Several Notches. This place is clean, well laid out, with a pleasant Decor that you don't have to feel like a Cheapy Creepy to be seen in. I am famous for being a bit of a "Fancy Nancy" , Snob of Fashion, Food, & Decor-- a self proclaimed S.A.P., Swedish American Princess, who won't go to a "Dive", but this place is Acceptable Plus. There is a view of Centennial Lake Park too, so this is a Feel Good Buffet, "Smorgasbord" ---I just love sayin that. They don't go wild with too many Dessert Choices, just a Soft Serve Bar & Toppings Galore, but that works for me.I am Glutton enough with the Soups, Salads, & Entree's that are a rare ocassion at a Buffet Style Spot .Ok, Smorgasbord, I had to say it one more time, it's a great word!!! If you're in the mood for a salad, this is definitely the place to go! They have a HUGE selection of fresh vegetables & salad toppings. Literally everything you've ever imagined topping a salad with can be found here. Bonus: they have a hot food bar, which is small but goes along nicely with your salad. Double Bonus: they have a bread & soup bar, which serves a variety of warm breads AND flavored butter - YUM! read more

Best buffet ever. Best food ever. Everyone knows how great this place is so there is no need to explain. As a kid I used to color pictures and they'd put them up on the wall with other kids colorings. Good memory. Only reason I didnt add the fifth star is one time years ago the waitress gave us dirty water, I dont know what we did to make her mad, but i saw her dip our cups in the dirty water and bring it back to us. Needless to say she got fired right then and there. Need to bring my daughter!! read more

Q Cumbers is a salad bar buffet in Edina - big difference in food quality and clientèle from, say, Old Country Buffet or Golden Corral. We go for the salad bar - excellent lettuce and spinach and every veggie and topping (amazing raisins!) in the book and a good selection of dressings - even non-fat for my friend on Alli. The place is spotless, the buffet extremely well maintained, and the staff is attentive. Did I mention fresh baked choc chip cookies and muffins? Plus - fresh baked cookies, pot roast from prime rib (today anyway), excellent soups, and drinks included. Very OK coffee and Intl Delight! All for about $23 with tip. The crowd is good suburban types - reasonably well-dressed, within a couple of SDs on weight. I strongly recommend. Why not five stars - it's not a unique ethnic place, but it's high on my list of favorites. read more

This place was not good. I'm not a fan of buffets because food is usually subpar, germs abound from people's hands touching everything, and most times food isn't fresh or hot. Q Cumbers follows suit. Nothing was memorable or even close to tasty. We won't be back. read more

This is another place that I just don't quite get. The food is okay, but nothing special. As Ms. K mentioned, there really aren't that many choices. Okay, you get a taco bar, but big deal. I've been dragged to this place by friends and have always left with a "blah" attitude as far as the food goes. I like some of the pasta salads, but again, there is nothing special about the food here. read more

I'm a pescatarian so going to buffets sometimes sucks do to the lack of meatless food. This place is the perfect buffet, I can actually come here and leave full of healthy food. If you're a meat eaters or vegetarian, you'll enjoy it. read more

Very fresh salad bar. You can eat relatively quick because it's all a buffet. Great variety. Excellent help.

Service, food quality and presentation plus value might explain why it's to busy on a Wednesday afternoon. Except for one thing. The taco seasoned ground beef was so salty that spreading on corn chips and topping it with cheese and garbanzo beans made me bury the whole thing under a napkin and taking it to a bus station to avoid being accused of wasting food. Really, everything else was really good.. A gainer's paradise. read more

Entree selection is limited, everyone seems to be making a big deal of the salad bar, but it's just the usual suspects. Ruby Tuesday has salad bar on lock, Mystic Buffet as well. Meat pretty much dry across the board. But the real weird part about this place is the look, it's like stepping into a time machine to 1994. Reminds me of Sizzler! read more

The salad choices are good. There are additional meat, pasta and dessert choices too. Be careful getting your plates, cups and utensils, however. Both times I have been, there was food particles caked on. read more

We stopped at this place on the way to the airport as I was hoping for something a little lighter before a flight. It is also conveniently located near the freeway not far from MSP Airport. The dining room was large and the whole place smelled clean and fresh. I was impressed at how fresh all the food was and also good quality. I have been to other chain buffets where this was not the case. The service was also fast and friendly. I will definitely stop again. read more

By far, the best place I've ever eaten at! Absolutely perfect. Please open a location in Seattle, WA, would you?

My partner have been going to Q Cumbers for many years and we can't get enough of the fresh vegetables, fruit, hot bar items and the bakery! Normally, it's really difficult to find a healthy meal at a restaurant, well at Q Cumbers you can make a delicious meal as healthy as you like. The atmosphere is easy going and friendly, sometimes noisy (kid noises) but generally an easily talkable volume level. One thing, if you eat later it closes by 8. read more

Horrible , no good food selection, if I didn't have any coffee I would've starved to death bad bad bad go at your own risk

For a quick, regular, nothing out of the ordinary meal This is the PLACE to go. I have been eating at Qcumber for over 10 years and I find the selection to be quite good. I do like the Salad Bar, it offers lots of choices to the customer, also a good selection of breads, soups, fruits, tea, coffee, etc. I just truly enjoy eating at Qcumbers, a wonderful and amazing place. read more

Wow-what a salad bar. This place is amazing. As a salad fan (who also dines on meat) this is a must stop. Our whole family likes the many things they have to offer from Salad's, to breads and deserts. I only wish they had one closer to where I live! read more

This place is great! Don't go here if you're expecting a ton of hot food and dessert options. The main attraction of the restaurant is the salad, fruit and soup bar. Sweet Tomatoes this ain't. My sweetie and I came to Q Cumbers after I lamented about not being able to find a decent salad in Minneapolis (I'm a West Coast native and vegetarian of 25 years, so I have a bit of a baseline from which to assess a "decent" salad). After the first visit, we both had, er, "gut" issues. Personally, I think it's because their veggies weren't looking very fresh and weren't even chilled (there's a reason they're refrigerated in the grocery store, people). Thinking our first visit may have been an anomaly, we went back today. Mistake. Sweetie and I are AGAIN ill with gut issues - BOTH of us. I should point out he is a hale-and-hearty, pretty bulletproof meat-and-potatoes kinda guy - so the gut-upset is especially worrisome in this respect. And this visit, I lettuce was so utterly skanky (ie, half-dissolved into that goopy-leaf mess, y'know how spring mix gets when it's about 4 days past its expiration date?), that I asked the stocker for some "mas fresco." I did get my "mas fresco" lettuce - but alas, did not prevent the GI issues. :( Please, PLEASE Sweet Tomatoes!! Open a franchise in Minneapolis, I beg of you! read more
