We came here for dinner on a Sunday night. It was busy and has music playing that sent you right into the streets of Cuba. The vibrant decor and music made you feel like you were in Miami or Cuba. The appetizers we got were the codfish croquetas & the shrimp tostones and not just me thing we had disappointed! My fiance is from Miami and actual teared up tasting the first few bites. The flavor profile is something I've never had, especially with everything being seasoned perfectly without being overall salty. Pina colada was made with fresh coconut milk and not the premade mix you get at most establishments. Our entrees were extremely flavorful as well and we gladly will be eating out leftovers for lunch tomorrow! We will definitely be back and would recommend this place for a different cuisine than what most of Austin Tx is offering.

I started with the ropa vieja, a classic Cuban shredded beef dish), served with white rice and sweet plantains. The beef was fresh out of the pot, tender, and full of flavor, with a sauce that was rich and slightly thick without being heavy. The rice was fluffy and perfect for soaking up the sauce, and the plantains were sweet, soft, and cooked just right. A solid, comforting Cuban plate done really well. For dessert, I had the creamy rice arroz infused with coconut milk and i got ice cream, and it was excellent. The rice was perfectly cooked, lightly sweet, with hints of cinnamon, and paired beautifully with the ice cream. It managed to feel light yet rich at the same time, not overly sweet, just balanced and satisfying. I didn't stay long, but the atmosphere looked great lively, fun, and like a place you'd come back to dance, enjoy music, and catch happy hour. Definitely a spot worth returning to for both the food and the vibe.

Another feast for the eyes and belly in Round Rock. Q bola is tucked behind Dairy Queen on Palm Valley Road. Don't let the location scare you off. The entrance is beautiful and well-designed, as is the patio area. We did not sit outside as it was a rare chilly day. The interior is bathed in golden light. It's like being transported to another country or at least southern Florida. I absolutely love the decor here! We dined with another couple. Each of us ordered different drinks and entrees. Everyone reported that they enjoyed their choices. The prices were reasonable and the service was above average. I encourage you to stop in for the Q Bola experience- have an appetizer or two with drinks, and take a micro-vacation in the golden light of this beautiful place. (Make it more fun and wear tropical clothes. You may convince yourself you've been transported to a sunny island getaway).

It's only been open 3 months and already creating a lot of good vibes. I actually have been planning to come here a few times, but finally was able to make it. We had Lorenzo as our helping staff and he was fabulous! Very warm and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious, but the ambiance is what makes this place special. Inside or outside is a delight! We tried ropa vieja, tostones and the stuffed potato, which was such a tasty surprise for me, I never had this before and I'm already thinking about having it again. Cortadito to end the meal, and some great final words with the friendly staff. We needed more places like this in the area. I'm so glad places like this one are geographically accessible. I have to make it back for a late fun time with friends.

Fun little authentic Cuban restaurant. Service good. Ambiance good. Live music. Outdoor patio dining option. Tiki hut vibe. Food good. Drinks need a lot of work. Recommend giving them a try.

Sheyla at Q'Bolá was absolutely incredible. From the second we sat down she brought the best energy -- attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without ever making us feel rushed. She anticipated what we needed before we even asked and made the whole experience feel personal. Our drinks never went empty, the food came out perfectly timed, and she made great recommendations. You can tell she genuinely cares about the guests and takes pride in what she does. And shoutout to the bartender too -- the drinks were phenomenal. Perfectly balanced, strong in all the right ways, and crafted with care. You can taste the difference when someone knows what they're doing behind the bar. Between Sheyla's service and the amazing cocktails, this was easily one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. We'll absolutely be back -- and we'll be asking for Sheyla again.

What a lovely little place that we never even knew was there! This restaurant is tucked away and not really visible from the street, but you will know you have found it when you pull into the parking lot and see all these rows of beautiful thatched roofs over the outdoor dining area. THE AMBIANCE: Incredibly clean. As in immaculate. The attention to detail is impressive, from the black "marbled" resin floors, to the uplit bamboo wall treatments, right down to the glossy abstract shaped tables and the black utensils.... add it the bits of tropical lighting and it makes you forget you are in Texas, and transports you to a fun tropical oasis. Windows everywhere show off the outdoor patio area with massive wide screen TV, thatch roof "umbrellas" over the tables, and tropical fun vibes. Inside is a full bar, and perfect music piping through the sound system makes for a cozy fun experience. THE FOOD: Amazing. I had the Masas de Cerdo, and it was melt in your mouth citrusy deliciousness. Husband had the Uruguayo de Cerdo and said it was incredible. Think like a stuffed chicken cordon bleu, only instead of chicken it's a perfectly crispy pork cutlet enclosing all the yummy ham and cheese. I apologize for the photos showing the dishes half eaten. We were hungry when we got there! The cassava fries were also amazing and the tamarind dipping sauce is a must try. SERVICE: Top notch. Hilaryo was our server but he was more than just that. He patiently made recommendations and assisted us with any questions we had regarding the menu. If you are lucky enough to get him as your server, you will be in great hands. Last but not least, the mojitos. My gosh, the mojitos. They are the real deal here. If you don't order a mojito, you are truly missing out. So happy to have found this hidden jewel that's literally in our backyard. We will be regulars.

My wife and I tried Q'Bola for the first time last night and we were completely blown away. Every single thing we ordered was incredible. The food was flavorful, well balanced, and clearly made with care. You can tell this kitchen knows exactly what it's doing. The atmosphere is fantastic too. The space has a great vibe, and the outdoor area looks amazing. It was a bit too cold to sit outside last night, but we are already planning to come back when it warms up just to enjoy the patio. Huge shoutout to Hilario, our waiter. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. We are not super familiar with Cuban food, and he took the time to explain the menu, make recommendations, and guide us through the experience without ever making us feel rushed or out of place. Top notch service. Honestly, this may be one of, if not the best restaurants in Round Rock. From the food to the service to the atmosphere, Q'Bola absolutely nailed it. We cannot wait to come back.

This place came highly recommended, so we decided to try it but unfortunately, we left disappointed. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, and the outdoor space is fantastic. It truly feels like you've been transported to a vacation spot. I ordered a mojito and my husband ordered a beer. My mojito was so weak that I actually asked whether it had alcohol in it; the tall-glass ratio was definitely off. My husband also received the wrong beer and had to have it switched. On to the food. I was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary round Cuban crackers, they brought back nostalgic memories. For appetizers, we ordered papa rellena, fried yuca, and croquetas de jamón. All of them were delicious. We ordered three entrées. We always judge a Cuban restaurant by its Cuban sandwich, and unfortunately, this one missed the mark. It lacked seasoning and was nearly flavorless; without the mustard and pickles, it would've had no taste at all. The portion size was generous, but while eating, my husband found a piece of bone in the sandwich. We told the waitress, but instead of an apology, she explained how it "could have happened." I know how to cook and pull pork...an apology would've been the appropriate response. We had to remind her to inform the chef, as she didn't seem to grasp that this was a serious issue. The ribs were a different story, they were perfectly cooked, tender, and almost falling off the bone. Once we added the barbecue sauce, they were absolutely delicious. The tamal topped with pork was also great. I expected the typical chunks of macita de cerdo, but this version used shredded pernil that had been fried until crispy. Not traditional, but still very tasty. Overall, I'm not sure if we'll return. I'm a big fan of Cuban sandwiches and mojitos, and both were a miss for us. Maybe after some time, we'll give them another try to see if things have improved.

It was our first time and our waiter seemed to be very "green". Despite that we tried to make the best of it. My husband didn't care too much for the food he ordered, Ropa Vieja. It was dry with no flavor. My sister-n-law and nephew ordered the Cuban sandwich that is always a hit anywhere, so it was good for them. My BnL got the Fajitas de Pollo he liked it. I got the Masas de Cerdo, now my food was it. I loved every bite of it down to the Arroz Congri and the fried plantains. I don't know if we would ever visit again but if you do my food and the cuban sandwiches are good.

I started with the Margarita on the rocks from the happy hour menu. It was made from scratch with tequila, triple sec, fresh lime, and cane sugar. I added mango flavor and tajin. The event ordered the Tropical Ceviche for the table with fresh fish cured in lime, with cilantro, avocado and onions. It was served with plantain chips. The flavors in this ceviche were so balanced and light. I was blown away on how much I enjoyed this. For my entree, I ordered Lechón Asado the most traditional Cuban dish. It is pulled pork marinated with Cuban Mojo criollo and slowly oven roasted. It was served with your choice of beans, rice and plantain. I went with the black beans, white rice and Yucca con Mojo. You can taste the citrus, garlic, and slow-roasted depth in every bite. It was juicy without being heavy and felt authentically prepared. The portion was generous, and everything on the plate complemented the pork beautifully. It felt comforting, well balanced, and thoughtfully executed. I did have an issue with slow service as far as receiving my food and one margarita I ordered was never delivered and I had to follow up on. Also my food was added to another person's check instead of on a separate check. However, these issues can be expected with a large event. It was a great location to host an event. We made reservations in advance (there is a $5 per person reservation fee), and the flyer advertised hours from 10am-2pm. However, when we arrived just before 11am, the restaurant was still closed. After checking in about our reservation, we were eventually seated and able to order drinks, which were brought out promptly. The buffet itself wasn't ready until around 11:45am, which was a bit of a wait, but once it opened, the food did not disappoint. There was a good variety of options, with the shredded pork and creamy garlic chicken being the standout dishes--both were absolutely delicious. The coffee was also strong and flavorful, which I appreciated. The restaurant has a warm, rustic feel, though parking is limited to street parking only. The staff seemed a bit disorganized and confused at times, but they were friendly throughout the experience. My only suggestion would be to offer a way to toast bread and bagels, or at least make that option more visible to guests. Overall, the quality of the food was solid, and despite a few hiccups with timing and organization, I'd be open to coming back and trying their buffet again.
