If you're looking for some delicious Cuban cuisine this place is for you. We came here for an early Father's Day celebration. The music and vibes were fantastic. Our server, Elario, was absolutely splendid and recommended the best foods. Also, this meets my MIL's standards which means it is VERY good . We plan on coming again 11/10

We came here for dinner on a Sunday night. It was busy and has music playing that sent you right into the streets of Cuba. The vibrant decor and music made you feel like you were in Miami or Cuba. The appetizers we got were the codfish croquetas & the shrimp tostones and not just me thing we had disappointed! My fiance is from Miami and actual teared up tasting the first few bites. The flavor profile is something I've never had, especially with everything being seasoned perfectly without being overall salty. Pina colada was made with fresh coconut milk and not the premade mix you get at most establishments. Our entrees were extremely flavorful as well and we gladly will be eating out leftovers for lunch tomorrow! We will definitely be back and would recommend this place for a different cuisine than what most of Austin Tx is offering.

I started with the ropa vieja, a classic Cuban shredded beef dish), served with white rice and sweet plantains. The beef was fresh out of the pot, tender, and full of flavor, with a sauce that was rich and slightly thick without being heavy. The rice was fluffy and perfect for soaking up the sauce, and the plantains were sweet, soft, and cooked just right. A solid, comforting Cuban plate done really well. For dessert, I had the creamy rice arroz infused with coconut milk and i got ice cream, and it was excellent. The rice was perfectly cooked, lightly sweet, with hints of cinnamon, and paired beautifully with the ice cream. It managed to feel light yet rich at the same time, not overly sweet, just balanced and satisfying. I didn't stay long, but the atmosphere looked great lively, fun, and like a place you'd come back to dance, enjoy music, and catch happy hour. Definitely a spot worth returning to for both the food and the vibe.

It's only been open 3 months and already creating a lot of good vibes. I actually have been planning to come here a few times, but finally was able to make it. We had Lorenzo as our helping staff and he was fabulous! Very warm and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious, but the ambiance is what makes this place special. Inside or outside is a delight! We tried ropa vieja, tostones and the stuffed potato, which was such a tasty surprise for me, I never had this before and I'm already thinking about having it again. Cortadito to end the meal, and some great final words with the friendly staff. We needed more places like this in the area. I'm so glad places like this one are geographically accessible. I have to make it back for a late fun time with friends.

Food was very good. 4 stars because my friend had an allergic reaction out of nowhere from her cocktail and had to leave. Carlos our waiter was very attentive. Cute space with a couple photo opps if you're into that too. Cocktails are strong!

Great food, great atmosphere on the weekend with love music and friendly informative staff. I went her for date night and it was great. Great vibe to the place and was so chill.

Another feast for the eyes and belly in Round Rock. Q bola is tucked behind Dairy Queen on Palm Valley Road. Don't let the location scare you off. The entrance is beautiful and well-designed, as is the patio area. We did not sit outside as it was a rare chilly day. The interior is bathed in golden light. It's like being transported to another country or at least southern Florida. I absolutely love the decor here! We dined with another couple. Each of us ordered different drinks and entrees. Everyone reported that they enjoyed their choices. The prices were reasonable and the service was above average. I encourage you to stop in for the Q Bola experience- have an appetizer or two with drinks, and take a micro-vacation in the golden light of this beautiful place. (Make it more fun and wear tropical clothes. You may convince yourself you've been transported to a sunny island getaway).

Fun little authentic Cuban restaurant. Service good. Ambiance good. Live music. Outdoor patio dining option. Tiki hut vibe. Food good. Drinks need a lot of work. Recommend giving them a try.

Sheyla at Q'Bolá was absolutely incredible. From the second we sat down she brought the best energy -- attentive, friendly, and on top of everything without ever making us feel rushed. She anticipated what we needed before we even asked and made the whole experience feel personal. Our drinks never went empty, the food came out perfectly timed, and she made great recommendations. You can tell she genuinely cares about the guests and takes pride in what she does. And shoutout to the bartender too -- the drinks were phenomenal. Perfectly balanced, strong in all the right ways, and crafted with care. You can taste the difference when someone knows what they're doing behind the bar. Between Sheyla's service and the amazing cocktails, this was easily one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. We'll absolutely be back -- and we'll be asking for Sheyla again.

I'm gonna start off. This place has NO Cuban coffee. No cafecito or cortadito to be had. This is insane for a place that puts Cuban flags in your food. Waiter was resourceful and attentive. He didn't seem to know what Cuban coffee was. He offered me coffee in a pot which made me chuckle. He was able to cobble up the bars cut limes when asked which is very much appreciated but kinda funny limes weren't provided with my food. Let's talk food. Bistec palomilla: TOUGH. Really made me chew which is surprising. Arroz Congri: tasted a bit weird but overall ok. The rice and beans mushed together. They also served it with some kind of weird breading on top. Sweet plantains: good. Best part of dish Ham croquetas: insanely good. The served it with this odd aioli sauce. Not needed for these. Ask for lime and they are perfect Th

My wife and I tried Q'Bola for the first time last night and we were completely blown away. Every single thing we ordered was incredible. The food was flavorful, well balanced, and clearly made with care. You can tell this kitchen knows exactly what it's doing. The atmosphere is fantastic too. The space has a great vibe, and the outdoor area looks amazing. It was a bit too cold to sit outside last night, but we are already planning to come back when it warms up just to enjoy the patio. Huge shoutout to Hilario, our waiter. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. We are not super familiar with Cuban food, and he took the time to explain the menu, make recommendations, and guide us through the experience without ever making us feel rushed or out of place. Top notch service. Honestly, this may be one of, if not the best restaurants in Round Rock. From the food to the service to the atmosphere, Q'Bola absolutely nailed it. We cannot wait to come back.

What a lovely little place that we never even knew was there! This restaurant is tucked away and not really visible from the street, but you will know you have found it when you pull into the parking lot and see all these rows of beautiful thatched roofs over the outdoor dining area. THE AMBIANCE: Incredibly clean. As in immaculate. The attention to detail is impressive, from the black "marbled" resin floors, to the uplit bamboo wall treatments, right down to the glossy abstract shaped tables and the black utensils.... add it the bits of tropical lighting and it makes you forget you are in Texas, and transports you to a fun tropical oasis. Windows everywhere show off the outdoor patio area with massive wide screen TV, thatch roof "umbrellas" over the tables, and tropical fun vibes. Inside is a full bar, and perfect music piping through the sound system makes for a cozy fun experience. THE FOOD: Amazing. I had the Masas de Cerdo, and it was melt in your mouth citrusy deliciousness. Husband had the Uruguayo de Cerdo and said it was incredible. Think like a stuffed chicken cordon bleu, only instead of chicken it's a perfectly crispy pork cutlet enclosing all the yummy ham and cheese. I apologize for the photos showing the dishes half eaten. We were hungry when we got there! The cassava fries were also amazing and the tamarind dipping sauce is a must try. SERVICE: Top notch. Hilaryo was our server but he was more than just that. He patiently made recommendations and assisted us with any questions we had regarding the menu. If you are lucky enough to get him as your server, you will be in great hands. Last but not least, the mojitos. My gosh, the mojitos. They are the real deal here. If you don't order a mojito, you are truly missing out. So happy to have found this hidden jewel that's literally in our backyard. We will be regulars.

The meat was cooked perfectly and the stew was very flavorful. I wasn't very hungry, so I ordered 2 empanadas, one was ham and cheese, and the other was beef, both were $4. The empanadas came with 3 sauces, a green, red, and white sauce. The green and red sauce were very good with the beef empanadas. Bubbly, silly, sat down with us for a minute, great recommendations. Definite need to return to try their roasted chicken. We all started with fresh guava juice which was soo good, not too sweet and just a little pulp. We shared the croquettas, which were divine (creamy potatoes with garlic, seasonings and ham)... creamy tomato dressing served on the side elevated their flavor! Then on to entrees! I had the Lechon Asado - pork marinated with citrus, garlic and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside with sautéed onions, black bean (Congri) dirty rice, crisp salad and perfectly cooked fried plantains. Incredible dish! My son ordered the classic Cuban sandwich which he enjoyed but he liked my pork better. He also had plantains and house made potatoes chips. His buddy had the El Cubanito Burger (which was a HUGE burger topped with ham, pulled pork and bacon & Swiss). I took home 1/3 my meal to have room for dessert. I had the choco-flan and my kiddo had a classic flan. Mine was an excellent creamy flan over a moist chocolate pudding like cake with caramel sauce. Portion were large, everything was rich in true Cuban flavors... beautifully presented too! Excited to go back. Menu is extensive and they have an in-house bakery! They make ALL their bread in-house. We took home some flakey pastries to try at home. Love the guava filled puff pastry. Colorful, vibrant restaurant with a full bar!

Okay Cuban Food in Pflugerville…read more Tropicana sets the standard for Cuban food in this town. I have not been to Havana on South Congress in years. Back in the day, Havana impressed as well. What about Chicho's? It won't thrill you. It won't kill you. * * * a) The menu at Chicho's is small. The menu at Tropicana is infinite. Chicho's is mostly a sandwich place. But they have some plates. Tropicana has everything. b) Servings at Chicho's are small. Small servings? At a Cuban restaurant? Yes - Miami has some Cuban restaurants with small servings too. But Cuban is where you often go when you are looking for some serious bellybusting. Havana Harry's is the model for ... your appetizer, your main course and your dessert are EACH as filling as a Thanksgiving Dinner. That is three Thanksgiving Dinners. The pork chop I got at Chicho's was cut thin. How thin was your pork chop, Samuel C? Funny you should ask, Yelp Reader. It was maybe a thickness of three on a delicatessen slicer. Probably closer to two. It was like eating a slice of ham out of an Oscar Mayer ham for little kids's lunch pack. It was nicely sauteed and had a sweet sauce. (Shades of the Oscar Mayer ham again). I ate my ration. There was an ice cream scoop's worth of congris. It was first rate congris ... the best thing on the plate. I was sad when my ice cream scoop's worth was gone. There were four maduros which counts as a legal but unimpressive serving. They were standard. There was a miniscoop of salad - but you know the salad you get as a side garnish in Mexican and Cuban restaurants. You don't eat it and it is no loss. * * * The other downside was the strawberry juice drink con leche. It was a standard industrialized strawberry pulp pack for drinks Which is par for the course when you order these things. Either something was funny with the strawberry pulp or something was wrong with the milk. 85 percent of the sips were okay. 15 percent were - wait a minute - something is wrong. The wrongness was inconsistent enough that I did not want to complain to management. But the more I reflect on it - the more I am sure I would not order another juice drink for a beverage. * * * Overall, my basic dishes were good enough that I could see eating there again if I happened to be in the neighborhood. But Pflugerville is full of amazing places ... And there is some great Yelp reviewing to be done in that town. And if I am hungering for Cuban ... there is always Tropicana. * * * Actually ... If I am hungering for Cuban ... There is always Miami. Eat at the best Cuban places in Miami And you will be so happy you will never want to eat again. Plus you will be so full it will be physically impossible for you to eat again. Ever. * * * No Cuban restaurant in Austin takes you to that extreme of happiness. But Tropicana does a good job of getting you 2/3 of the way there.

Whether you're planning a date night, meeting up with friends, or looking to impress a business client, this spot delivers. I highly recommend starting with the Guacamole con Masitas. What a fantastic fusion! The fresh, traditional guacamole is topped with crispy fried pork bites that add the perfect savory crunch. The portion is just right for sharing as an appetizer. For the main course, don't skip the Tacos de Pescado and Tacos de Camarón. Each order comes with three generously filled tacos bursting with flavor. The fish tacos are finished with a delicious chipotle mayo, while the shrimp tacos feature a rich macha mayo that takes them to another level. Although they don't serve alcohol, their selection of handcrafted mocktails is impressive and pairs wonderfully with the food. The hardest part of the evening was deciding what to order. Their menu has so many tempting options that we were already talking about what we'll try on our next visit. I honestly don't think you can go wrong here. One of the highlights of the experience was the chef personally coming out to ask how our meal was. That kind of hospitality is becoming rare, and it made the evening feel even more special. We made reservations in advance (there is a $5 per person reservation fee), and the flyer advertised hours from 10am-2pm. However, when we arrived just before 11am, the restaurant was still closed. After checking in about our reservation, we were eventually seated and able to order drinks, which were brought out promptly. The buffet itself wasn't ready until around 11:45am, which was a bit of a wait, but once it opened, the food did not disappoint. There was a good variety of options, with the shredded pork and creamy garlic chicken being the standout dishes--both were absolutely delicious. The coffee was also strong and flavorful, which I appreciated. The restaurant has a warm, rustic feel, though parking is limited to street parking only. The staff seemed a bit disorganized and confused at times, but they were friendly throughout the experience. Overall, the quality of the food was solid, and despite a few hiccups with timing and organization, I'd be open to coming back and trying their buffet again.
