This was an atrocious experience. If you're looking for even a decent dine-in spot before your flight, absolutely avoid Q Bar. The service was horrendous- waiter wobbles around like he didn't sleep for a week, messed up my order, there's little interaction because it's all through a QRC-website, and you've gotta try flagging people down and they are quick to move away and onto something else. The food was greasy as hell- you can see how much grease they were saturating the grill with. Best choice on the menu was beer and even that wasn't worth it. Overpriced rubbish was atrocious service. We had the ability to relax and plug-in There were several tables in the area with electrical that you could hang out at for long periods of time without inconveniencing other travelers. Houston airport has a lot of contenders when it comes to getting a fast casual meal. Somewhere between the high-end sit down and fast food is Q bar. This was the only accessible restaurant with Texas BBQ and a quick open bar to park your luggage. The menu is limited and you have to order through a clunky pay as you order machine, although I was sitting at an open bar with ample staff. My iced tea was made quickly and to order without sugar. The sandwich was presented on a toasted and buttered brioche bun which made it feel fresher as it was clear the brisket was already cooked and set aside for serving. The gray onions brightened the flavor and added a bit of moisture that was needed. The chips were a nice accompaniment and completed the meal, making it just filling enough for a hungry woman. I'd recommend going by yourself or in a small group as there is limited seating. It's no frills, but when you want Texas BBQ, it's just right for on the go! read more

Used to stop at Cousins BBQ for loaded potatoes before they remodeled the airport and made everything a bit higher end. Was at Houston international for a layover and stopped here for a quick dinner. Ordered a loaded baked potato with chopped brisket. Sat at the counter and it came out pretty fast. The potato was huge and portions of toppings were generous and tasty. Price was not bad for the airport. I think my total with tax and tip came out to about $20. Definitely will stop back again next time I'm in the airport. read more

I was so nervous about eating here after reading the reviews, but after checking the prices and items on other menus, I risked it for the brisket. The gentlemen with amazing dreads that helped me told me exactly what to get and I was not disappointed. The brisket was great (different than what I am used to - it was more tough but still had flavor) and the coleslaw and beans were killer. I wish the brisket had been more tender but that's my only real complaint. Can we talk about the flavor of these beans for a minute though?! I am picky. And a health nut. But I was craving meat today (wayyy too long of a travel day) and beans usually aren't cooked long enough for me. These were sensational. Maybe the best baked beans I've had?? Well, at least in the last 2 years. Don't know about the ambiance because I'm that person that took it to-go for the plane to piss off everyone else with food smells (or taunt them?).
