IAH AIRPORT / AMERICAN / 11-15-22 / DINNER +Loaded Baked Potatoes and BBQ Sandwiches. +It looks like a spin-off of the Q Smokehouse. +You can watch the cook make your food. -The grill and food prep areas are wide open, and don't look too sanitary. -Super high foot traffic depending on the time of day. Skip it and go to Bam Bam or Embers, which is a 3-5 minute walk towards gates C4 - C15.

Ordered Food, it came quick a bit pricy but it is the Airport, however my plane is delayed 4 hours and I already have a 3 hour layover. The least United Air can do is give me more than $20 come onnnnn...... So poor! At least the music is good.

First, don't get intimidated by this place. Just scan the QR code and you can order drinks and food. Otherwise, staff is more than willing to help. Ordered 4 meat. Fried Jalapeño with pulled pork. All tastes very good. Nice and quiet bar with outlets to charge.

    Garbage for $50

Garbage.... Worse $50 I've ever spent. I've ate plenty of Texas bbq and not sure WTF this is. Worst tasting beans, dry coleslaw ‍, warm beer, served 2 coronas that were skunked and no limes, bartender clearly had better places that she wanted to at.... Garbage doesn't even start to describe it.

The driest reheated wings I've ever eaten

Fail !! Fail !! Fail !!! The worst bbq ever, hands down. Everything was dry. Wings were inedible. Dry and reheated made wings in a flat top. Just terrible. No service, just figure it out yourself. I didn't order chopped brisket, they advertised brisket slices on their menu and give you pre packaged dry chopped meat. So unappealing. What a waste of money. You just ruined Texas bbq. For shame !!!

Ok bbq choice for airport layover. A sampler plate costs $30 plus. It's not bad, but just not to Texas standard I guess.

I got a Bloody Mary and a breakfast burrito, with tip it was nearly $50USD. The Bloody Marry was tiny, but okay. The atmosphere is good though. Follow up the burrito cam out, mind its $17.00 it came with eggs and cheese and a small amount or jalapeño. When ordering from the menu you have to open the menu item to add meat, it doesn't come with any... for $17.00

The sliders were delicious! The bread was perfectly toasted and the brisket was tender and juicy. I had to get extra bbq sauce on the side but that might be bc I like it extra saucy. I wish the sliders came with fries instead of chips but the sliders were still very satisfying. I ate two and took the last one to go. Glad I ate here before my flight! It was worth the $25 price tag.

    Yummy brisket sandwich. Texas BBQ!!

Houston airport has a lot of contenders when it comes to getting a fast casual meal. Somewhere between the high-end sit down and fast food is Q bar. This was the only accessible restaurant with Texas BBQ and a quick open bar to park your luggage. The menu is limited and you have to order through a clunky pay as you order machine, although I was sitting at an open bar with ample staff. My iced tea was made quickly and to order without sugar. The sandwich was presented on a toasted and buttered brioche bun which made it feel fresher as it was clear the brisket was already cooked and set aside for serving. The gray onions brightened the flavor and added a bit of moisture that was needed. The chips were a nice accompaniment and completed the meal, making it just filling enough for a hungry woman. I'd recommend going by yourself or in a small group as there is limited seating. It's no frills, but when you want Texas BBQ, it's just right for on the go!

Awful...out of the places we messed up. Nachos with canned chicken. Regular bread with a some weird seasoning, is definitely not jalapeño cornbread.

Used to stop at Cousins BBQ for loaded potatoes before they remodeled the airport and made everything a bit higher end. Was at Houston international for a layover and stopped here for a quick dinner. Ordered a loaded baked potato with chopped brisket. Sat at the counter and it came out pretty fast. The potato was huge and portions of toppings were generous and tasty. Price was not bad for the airport. I think my total with tax and tip came out to about $20. Definitely will stop back again next time I'm in the airport.

    Chicken Wings

Over priced tasteless food and drinks. Staff was very super helpful. Can surely use a menu change.

    The rude lady

I sat down at the table, scanned menu. I was looking through the drinks. A waiter came over very rude saying we can't sit at the table if we aren't ordering. When I was clearly looking at the menu. Instead of ordering I decided to leave because why would I spend my money somewhere I feel I'm not welcomed. Two gentleman sat at the same table and she treated them better then she treated us.. This is not a place I would recommend!

They feature darts and a pool table on the inside with corn hole on the outside and live music occasionally. The bartender (José) and manager were welcoming and conversational while showing professionalism and genuine care. We played three rounds of pool and three rounds of cornhole. The pool table's felt has very low rolling resistance and is perfectly level, and they have well maintained pool sticks with chalk and powder for those with very moist hands. The whole venue is well built and has a lot of open space, with copious tables and seating. We will be back to Humble Backyard to have fun when it is jamming with people

We went and where should I begin??? I wanted to try this…read moreplace since I heard of it a while back and since its around my old neighborhood I was so excited to finally go. I was definitely disappointed. We got there early and the place wasnt busy not even busy once people started showing up. Don't want to sound like a "Karen" but uff!! It was just bad. It took a while between drinks and don't get me started on the food. I thought service would pick up when we saw 1 or 2 other waitresses show up as time went by but it was the same. They said they had bartenders they had one inside and the 2nd one seemed more of a cook even cus she kept bringing food orders to tables vs wait staff. It was so slow that people were even going inside to get drinks/beer buckets and it seemed "faster" in some way. I was surprised how little the mimosa came with or maybe it was just the big glass. Micheladas weren't that great and idk what they use in it or on the rim but it had a crawfish seasoning taste to them. Same for their bloody Mary. For it to have too much on and in it it was very basic w/out flavor. When I saw how slow food was coming out I just decided to eat the slider that came with the Mary. Which wasn't that great. Only good thing were the onion rings For the price and experience unfortunately it's definitely not worth it.

What a difference, the restaurant had comfortable seating and you could get a drink with your meal, if you wanted to. One thing that was really nice was the speed, you can order from your phone or have a real person take your order. I chose the person and in less than ten minutes, the hot wings I ordered were in front of me. The menu has a lot of choices and it's expensive, but this is a quality restaurant, especially for a sit down meal in an airport. A lady nearby had the glass of wine, crab cakes and salad, which was the meal I would have ordered if there had been more time. The wings were flavorful and my soda was refilled without asking. Things go smoothly and fast in this restaurant, you don't need to worry about missing a flight because of slow service. I would definitely enjoy another meal at Ember, they are used to serving travelers good food and there is a bar if you only want a drink. Definitely recommended!

Food Fried Chicken Sandwich: 9/10; the sandwich was…read moresurprisingly delicious. The potato bun was soft, and the hot, crispy chicken filet was tender and flavorful. The slaw added a nice textural contrast. Fries: 7/10; The seasoning was on point, but unfortunately the fries arrived lukewarm and could have been crispier. Served fresh and hot, these would easily earn an 8 or 9. Blackberry Lemonade Sparkler: 9/10; As a fan of Real brand purees, I had high expectations and wasn't disappointed. The drink was both tasty and refreshing--exactly what I needed. My only complaint is the heavy-handed ice, which left me wishing for more actual beverage. Ambiance I used the seating area near gate C14, which operates outside the main restaurant space. The bar-style tables feature QR codes at each seat, allowing you to order and have food delivered right to you--a system I wish every airport would adopt. The area was clean, spacious, and pleasantly uncrowded during my visit. Service Service was efficient if somewhat barebones. My server dropped off the food quickly, though my drink didn't arrive until he returned 10 minutes later.
