I went here looking for a standard cleaning as I intended to use my last month of company insurance I had access to. I was hoping to receive a normal examination (X-ray) and cleaning and signed written consent forms for exactly this and confirmed with the receptionist that it would all be covered IN FULL by my insurance. After the X-rays were taken I was informed I had "extensive" tartar buildup, a wisdom tooth that was growing sideways and some major cavities. All of this advice is fine, as I have been informed about these same cavities and conditions for many years with a prior dentist with no actual progression in decay despite its severity. Then without my written consent for a deep cleaning, the doctor applied local gel based anesthetic and did a "deep cleaning" on all of my teeth for a total of 25-30 minutes. It was the most painful cleaning I have ever experienced, and that too with local anesthetic applied. What this dentist does not know is that the longest period of time I have not seen a dentist is 4 years. After which I had gone to another dentist in Folsom with actual severe, deep tartar deposits far more extensive than what I came in with for this dentist. I have never had a "deep cleaning" until this dentist. The cleaning my previous dentist did with far more severe tartar, along with X-rays and examination was effectively the same procedure (scaling and polishing) which was billed as a standard cleaning (as expected) and I did not pay a single cent, due to my insurance, AS EXPECTED. I left the "deep cleaning" with the receptionist now telling me that I didn't get a standard cleaning and I got a deep cleaning which would require $142.60 out of pocket DESPITE HAVING INSURANCE (conveniently covered with only 80% by my insurance, but also a considerably more expensive procedure). While I understand dentists need to do procedures in order to make their income, lying about procedures and stealing from your patients is unethical and possibly illegal. I will never return here for further dental services. read more

Friends we have recommended her to still go to her from as far as Natomas and we go all the way from Roseville! Dr. Shah has a very experienced and gentle hand and we always feel that she is working for us, to provide us the best possible options. She is very knowledgeable and attends a lot of specialized training too to keep herself abreast of new practices. Dr Shah is amazing! She is gentle, kind and an amazing dentist. My story is unique. I am on a camping trip from so California en route to Yellowstone/grand Terons for next two weeks. Well while moving camping spots in Pismo today, I had our electric drill and was raising up the stabilizing jacks. And wam! The drill got caught and swung around and clocked me in the jaw! It chipped my canine tooth and was so rough. Oh great! So being from out of town I called my Cigna dental and got a list of providers here in Folsom who might fit me in today. We were going to be staying here for one night with family before we leave tomorrow. I called Dr Shah's office and they #1 fit me in #2 were flexible on my arrival knowing we were pulling a Trailer and had a 6.5 hour drive here. They fit me in at 4pm. Wow! Dr Shah met me, went over the options and We decided to do a filling of the tooth where it was gone and then file it do it wasn't jagged. She even filed the teeth next to the tooth to make them look nice also! What service! I wish I had her in Dana Point! Her office staff, Heather was also so accommodating! As an Emergency Room Nurse we always say, "Accidents are predictable and preventable"! Next time I'm keeping my jaw away from the drill and slowing it down at the end! Lol. While the storefront is humble and comforting, I could see Dr. Shah working on Brad Pitt's teeth, or Judge Judy. She's a short person, but inside that 5' frame is a powerhouse of dental expertise. Dr. Shah is a very kind and gentle human of all. My mom is visiting us from India and she had a terrible toothache with little swelling. Took her to Dr. Shah and doctor found out that the tooth decay caused the infection. She treated my mom with antibiotics immediately and followed by teeth extraction. All through the process, doctor explained everything clearly and suggested the best option for my mom for her age. I just had crown put on my front tooth by dr shah did great job. Iam very pleased with the result. I was very nervous & scared since this is my front tooth but they made me very comfortable in the chair, i could watch Movie during the procedure that took my attention away from the drilling noice. They explain that ins coveres certain percentage & i have to pay certain which was very straight foward. My cousine works for inell & for them also she made it very easy dr shah is in the net work for Inel Delta . Even though i moved away temporarily from the area , i stil go as they have Saturday apt & also now they have Hygienist on some Days including Saturdays. I had a horrible experience here. I went for a root canal and opted for one of the most expensive 100 % porcelain crown for my front teeth. This crown was recommended by the doctor and since its for my front tooth I went for it. She charged me about $1500 for the root canal and crowning and also charged my insurance $1500. After about an year the crown broke and she replaced it with another crown for which I had to pay. During the procedure she filed my front tooth so much that there's barely anything there. She did an extremely bad job and now it feels that a round pebble is in my mouth, like something stuck in my mouth. She also did not match the color of the crown with the rest of my front teeth and as a result this crown stands out and is very noticeable when I open my mouth. The dentist told me that you will get used to it but I have been trying to get used to for 2 years. Furthermore recently I had pain in that tooth and was told by another dentist that she did not do the root canal properly and one vein/gap was not filled and that has resulted in infection coming up again. I later came to know a lot of people whose root canal was done badly by this dentist. The front office staff is great but do not let that fool you to get an appointment. I will repent this for life but I do not want others to face the same nightmarish experience as I have. If I could have given this dental practice negative stars then I would have. read more

The rceptionist, Heather, is extremely nice and great at reminding me of appointments, as well as planning the right appointment times per my schedule. Dr. Shah is extremely accommodating and understanding. I broke a cap on the weekend once and she came in on a Saturday to see me special! Any time I need more numbing or a short break from the stresses of being at the dentist, she happily provides what I need. She make sure caps, fillings ect. I have seen Dr. Shah three times and become increasingly disappointed. Some of my highlights of disappointment are: -It would appear that she does not have a dental hygienist and does her cleanings herself. My first cleaning took less than 10 minutes and I felt like she was rough. Then, afterward I felt like my teeth were not even clean. She was so rushed and just seemed to want me out of there. -I had two fillings taken care of by Dr. Shah and she got glue all over my surrounding teeth. I complained and she said it would come off. It hasn't. However, I don't want to go back to her so I am living with it until I find a new dentist that can get it off. -I really question the training of her assistants. She tells everyone what to do and they come back and ask her for the next step. It just seems like she does pretty much everything herself and they help her out but are not trained to do anything on their own which might create her haste in that she does not have enough time. I have been going to Dr. Shah for several years now and am extremely pleased with the level of service, her knowledge and expertise, as well as the manner in which she handles dentistry overall. I have had several fillings replaced by Dr. Shah and have had no problems. She even does fabulous work when it comes to turning amalgam fillings that were old, into fresh new composites! Now when I laugh and open my mouth wide, it appears that I've never had a cavity in my life... SHHHHHH! Let me start by saying I am terrified of the dentist, this team has helped me somewhat overcome those fears. I went in for a cleaning, x-ray, check up after a good four or five years of avoiding all dental work. Not only were they kind and understanding, they didn't give me a big lecture as every other dentist probably would have. It turned out I had a few cavities to fill and had to have my wisdom teeth removed as well. They scheduled me in quickly and within 3 weeks from my original appointment all dental work was done. I had 4 wisdom teeth removed, the whole process took about an hour and a half from start to finish. There was no swelling or pain at all after my extraction, and the dentist called to check up on me to give me her personal cell phone number in case I had any questions or concerns. My boyfriend uses this office and now my sister is coming up from out of town to get her dental work done here as well. They are the best dental team. read more
