Visiting Yakima for work, I decided to stop here because it was in walking distance of my hotel. I ordered the Peach lemonade vodka with fish and chips. The drink was only $7.00 and was truly amazing. The fish and chips were tempura style with no tartar sauce but more of a remoulade. It was ok. The fish was in big chunks and hard to cut up or eat by hand. The service left much to be desired, especially since it was empty. I went into Purrr with really high expectations and perhaps that was what hurt my experience in the end. First the pros though: My husband ordered a steak and it was very good! They had Irish Death which was very good, although it only came in a can The cons: The lighting in this establishment leaves much to be desired. I found myself immediately disappointed with the layout and lack of color and brightness. I understand that you go there to eat, but if I opt to eat out, I want an experience. There was 0 ambiance in this place. No artwork on walls, no creative lighting, no dividing walls. It was plain, has department store lighting and a very random soundtrack playing. I was surprised with the lack of non alcoholic drink choices.. they had no coke, no Dr Pepper and no grenadine to add to the Pepsi they did have... but they have a bar so?? It also bothered me that when I ordered the fish and chips, they did not want to give me mashed potatoes as a side instead of fries even though they had mashed potatoes and it was an hour til closing and the place was pretty empty. The potato skins were cut very thin and dry and somewhat hard in some places so we didn't enjoy that. Overall the place was very lackluster and I don't think I'll return. We had a wonderful late lunch today. Started off with an amazing Bloody Mary that was a lunch itself. My husband enjoyed a strawberry vodka lemonade which he really liked. I ordered the filet and grilled shrimp for lunch and my husband had the salmon! Veggie heaven in addition to a wonderful meal. Elyce was a fantastic server and couldn't have been sweeter! Tonight was the second time I've been to Purrr. Each time, the food was great, the drinks were outstanding, and the service was excellent. First time, I had the Mango Cream Cheese Jalapeño Poppers and they were great. A word of advice, though. Unless you have a strong stomach, don't eat the whole order! I was paying the price for the next three days, if you know what I mean! Tonight, my wife and I both had the French Dip and, no joke, it was probably the best French Dip I've ever had. We tried several starters/dinner plates during our stay in Yakima and loved everything. The staff was super friendly and gave us great customer service! We love the Fiery Thai Shrimp and the Hand Dropped Onion Rings! They will definitely have you wanting to come back for more (as we did). Also if you love spicy make sure to try there wings and Jalapeño Poppers as they will not disappoint! The poppers came with a dipping sauce that was sooo delicious i even ended up using it for my fries! Cant wait too come back to PuRRR again in our next visit to Yakima. This is a must GO TO PLACE! Came to Purrr via a recommendation of a friend. I'm from Yakima, but I've been living in Seattle the past 2 years so I had no clue there was a new restaurant. We were told the drinks were good and we were not disappointed. They only use real fruit to make them. From classics to creative originals. We had the Charlotte's web and Cantarito. The bartender David was really knowledgable and friendly. The food was also amazing. We had the beer battered onions and the thai shrimp, both really good. The layout is a little strange, it seems that there is an abundance of small tables in the dining area, but I'm sure this is something that will be updated at some point. I showed up 45 MIN before close. I could instantly tell by the waitresses body language, and rolling of the eyes that we were not wanted. We sat down and waited for over ten minutes, just to have one of them rudely tell us we need to put in an order right that second. The kitchen is closing and they don't usually accept orders this late.... 45 MInutes before close?!?! I said to her, well I have not been greeted and don't even have a menu yet. She literally just walked away and said nothing, so I left. Now I've been a waiter my entire work career so I know the industry, and this is far from the norm. Also, I wouldn't have wrote this if this was my first incident here. It was actually my second. The first time it was close to an hour before close. I've came to this restaurant twice now, just to be RUDELY pushed away. The owner/manager needs to instill a different culture in this place. If 30 min before close you want to do last call, and last dinner orders that's fine. But right now you're allowing your employees to scare away business just so they can get home early. read more

I'm mixed on this place. Here is the basics from our first, and most likely only visit here. Food: 3.5 stars - my burger was great. My wife's chicken wings were just ok. Service: 1 star - we arrived and literally took 10 minutes to be greeted with menus. It was not busy, no acknowledgment that they will be right with us. It was really bad, we were about to leave, but she came over. We should have left. Server didn't really know anything about the menu. Didn't know what was gluten free and not. They didn't have the items we wanted on the menu. (Not her fault in that one) but her attitude was that we were doing her a service by being there. Drinks: 2 star - not a great beer list. It was basic. My Manhattan was awful. There was nothing special about it. It was strong, this a 2 star, but not a good mix of vermouth and bitters. It tasted as if they didn't use any bitters. My wife's drink was just ok as well. So nothing special about the place. It looked nice. I was really hoping to like it! I wanted a new place. Expectations missed and met. Okay, had an appetizer that we shared, it was good, just different than we expected. But as we watched the food come out we noticed a pattern......deep fried was the theme. Very few items on the menu weren't without some deep fried component. We had the seafood pasta, shared it, and the staff was kind enough to split it for us. It was good, not great, but good. The staff was kind, attentive, and trying hard to mzke a go of it. I wanted to suggest that they fill their hands with dirty/empty dishes/glasses as they walked back to the bar/kitchen area, just as a matter of efficiency, but hopefully that comes with time and experience. Now the drinks were good, but a $9.00 house whiskey water was way over priced. But the bartenders looked like they really cared about their craft. I couldn't help thinking cafeteria, even with all the really nice wait staff, and a well stocked bar area. So what was the problem? The atmosphere was......sterile, all hard edges, nothing soft. Even though there is wood everywhere, which I normally consider soft, all the edges, surfaces, walls, ceiling tiles, tables had straight an 90° angles, cafeteria, but upscale cafeteria. There is a lot of competition within a few blocks, that we think outshine PURRR, they did offer us a lovely cocktail on the house as it was our anniversary. Good luck PURRR. read more
