Signed up for a month unlimited while dogsitting in Fullerton for a few weeks. Great value for the frequency of my practice. Loved the studio and variety of classes available. Did most of my classes with Danny and Alex. Both are skillful and intuitive instructors. Excellent cueing, pacing and attention to adjustments. They charged me over $200 on reoccurring payments when I only went to two classes is the bottom line. Any reputable do what's right Owner would refund my unused portion because I was unaware that they put me on a reoccurring payment. Bottom line is I only went to two classes But they charged me for many classes that I never went to. just because they could. In my world that's just flat wrong versus taking care of the customer he just looked at his pocketbook the owner that is. I could see if I completed the classes and they charged me for what I used but they charge me for classes I never went to that's unscrupulous in anyone's book I would never recommend this company. They've since increased the number of classes due to its popularity and adherence to COVID-19 guidelines, including temperature checks, contactless check-in, and reduced class sizes. I've officially been coming to this place DAILY for a week. It's soooo much fun and I love all the instructors here. They really take their time and if they see you struggling (which I often am. Lol), they come over and give you extra attention so you are able to perform the moves correctly. Love it! I started this place with a groupon that was for 3 weeks of unlimited classes. (A perfect way to try all the classes before committing.) However, after seeing what PY has to offer, I will definitely be signing up for a membership here. read more

Ok back in 2021 when we were getting back from the pandemic. I posted a low star review. I had gone there pre pandemic and I was sad that it felt so different to me. All the instructors were different and the whole mask while doing yoga was hard for me. But I believe we should give credit where it's due. I went back today after not going for over a year. It felt really good. I had never met the instructor, I am out of shape and I was a little rusty but it felt really good to be there and it felt like it did when I first joined. I'm very happy to be back in a place that is clean, peaceful and where at least this instructor Yu was attentive to all of us practicing. read more

was a member of Purple Yoga studio for a while.. Experienced nice moments, a specially during retreat to Bali. However, my life situation changed drastically and I became a full time student in Respiratory Therapy. I am 55 and unfortunately I had to make different decision to start life from beginning. As difficult this time it is, I was asking management provide me with student discount. Unfortunately owners denied request for a reason of my age. They emailed me that they only support young generation students. I felt disappointed and discriminated against due to my age. I believe that support for students should transcend age boundaries. I feel there is a contrast between yoga philosophy and owners response. Unfortunately the management is not supportive and it's discriminating, very disappointed. read more

Make certain your tech skills are on point and you read the fine print of specials, monthly sign up, etc. I'll never recommend the studio based upon the owners financial lack of integrity! They take zero accountability for seeing the customer's point of view. ***Dear Joseph, your follow up proves my point. As a business owner you should humble yourself and have empathy for the ignorant consumer like myself that interpreted the monthly offer one way and your Studio appears to be okay with my ignorance costing herself over $500 of unused services. When I brought this to your Studio's attention and they have record of non attendance, it appears that you're okay with your policy ruling over my output of money. Your defensive reply lacks empathy. This Long Beach resident has plenty of yoga studio choices, I work with business owners that offer grace, treat me well, and don't take a "posture" of defensiveness. Best yoga studio in all of Long Beach! Purple Yoga has exceeded my expectations for a yoga studio that offers heated, unheated, bikram style, gentle flows, and outdoor classes. All of the instructors are so knowledgeable and provide fun and creative flows that incorporate strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. I've been a member for a few months now and feel stronger physically and mentally than ever before. Once you step under the UV light orbs, smell the lavender in the studio, you're instantly sent into a blissful state. Giving one star purely because Sahara is an awesome teacher and the gentle flow yoga class I attended was great. But the Long Beach location really has to take COVID19 seriously. I didn't see any mask policy or enforcement of wearing masks. Wearing a mask is totally compatible with yoga. There was no COVID19 screening of any sort either. This is an indoors class where we're with in a closed room with folks for 1 hour. I don't see myself returning unless I see a change in the above. Didn't feel safe there. read more

Very aggressive billing. I canceled my membership and for two months in a row they tried to take the money out of my account after I had canceled. They admitted it was a system error at the time, but still charged me $40 which they refused to refund. There's several other better yoga studios, just down the street. read more

I went to a yoga class at 1215 today with a new instructor Rich who was great. He was very professional and explained every pose. This was super helpful since I am a beginner. However, The female clerk in the front who checked me in was very rude. She made me take a picture even though I asked not to, she also asked for a credit card to keep on file. I explained I just wanted to try one class and preferred to pay cash. She said they take everyone's pictures for when they check in and need a credit card to keep on file. After explaining myself twice, She asked for my email and ID and finally signed me in but with an attitude. read more

I'm new to yoga and I've done 2 classes so far. I already feel comfortable and confident reviewing this studio because both classes were not only amazing and inclusive but very educational! After a long week with hectic work days, gentle flow was the perfect class to wind down with and blue class was a great way to get my week started! Everyone was super great and made sure to give me additional pointers because I was new. The class sizes are perfect too with not so many people that you feel ignored but not so few that you feel like you're on the spot. Great yoga studio. Came in for a restorative class tonight and really enjoyed it. The studio is super clean and the instructor was super helpful. I guess the only thing I would mention is that there was a Red class that was going on above the restorative class and the music from upstairs was pretty loud. Wasn't too bad but a little distracting. Over all really awesome experience and I'll def be signing up for a membership. This place is great. I bought the 2 weeks unlimited pass for $29 and have been to 4 classes so far. I have never done yoga in a heated room before, but I have been digging the Red and Green classes. Red is sun salutations where Green is more pose holds. Both in rooms set at 100 degrees. Definitely bring a mat towel and water. Alex Roberts is a great instructor, 3 of the 4 classes I've been to were with him. He is confident, but not too serious. And encourages you to take advantage of the time to do what is best for you. So if a pose isn't working for you, he offers up multiple alternatives. read more

I was a regular bikram yoga user down the street, and wonder why it has taken me so long to finally try Purple Yoga studio. First of all, if you haven't been and you want to go, do sign up online for their 2 week for $20 unlimited classes special. This will give you the chance to check out which classes you want to invest your money in later! Each class is a "color" or theme and generally has a temperature associated with the class. They offer a variety of classes Black (similar to Bikram) and Red classes are 100 degrees, so prepare to sweat buckets. I'm a fan of the restorative yoga class, which frankly your body really needs from time to time. I am thrilled to find a CLEAN, non-carpeted facility, lockers, showers, friendly staff, with very articulate and welcoming instructors, to provide students with a pure and peaceful experience. They even have face wipes and hair ties in the women's restroom area. I am sold, with only four days left of my introductory package I will definitely be coming back on a regular basis. read more

If I were a business owner and I was aware of something like yelp (where customers come to provide honest review of services received), I imagine that in my most attentive state - being sincere about what I do in my business - I would take heed and provide individualized reflection to my customers. This level and epitome of service was definitely provided to me by the owner of Purple Yoga, Joe. More about this later -- first my experience at the Long Beach studio. I went by the Fullerton location in the past, while eyebrows deep in the California Bar Exam, recently graduated from law school, and in search of a place where mind body and spirit could reconnect (you can imagine the havoc law school + bar does on someone). I had a fabulous experience at the Purple Yoga in Fullerton. It's small and cozy, oh so fabulously clean, and stylish. It's like a small vacation home to really catch a moment to breathe. Fast-forward a month or so -- After some bouncing around with work and now post-bar, my firm finally decided to settle me down in Orange County for a bit longer. I eagerly sought out the opportunity to check out the Long Beach studio since Fullerton was so awesome. WOW. Fullerton is fabulous but Long Beach was amazing. I was absolutely blown away. The studio is gorgeous - and similar to the Fullerton joint - spotless (I love clean!). Everything is stylish but calm (can I be a geek and say that the paint colors were very natural and soothing? haha). From the locker rooms to the reception area and the yoga studio. It's the kind of feeling you get when you go to a one of those expensive day spas (I've never been to one but that's the level of serenity I would expect one to feel). The Long Beach studio is a lot bigger than the Fullerton one in all aspects (two studios, huge locker room and showers, large reception area, tons of parking). I didn't get a chance to explore too much but trust me - you'll be surprised with how nice it is. I went on a Tuesday for the noon Blue class. Amy was the instructor and she led a great class. It was a great way to jumpstart my day (me having the day off = lunch time is my start time). Amy has a really calm voice and I noticed that she took the time to come around and help *ALL* the students with their poses. In the few times I've done yoga -- I really like it when the teachers pay attention to who's in the class and who's floundering and just connecting with you as yoga teacher to student. She has this very calm and motherly touch. I really thought it was so nice to have her walk to each student during that last lying down pose and just give a gentle touch.. like acknowledging the link between you and her in one room. I also liked how everyone (other students) was just in their own zone and contributing their energy to the room (I've been to some yoga classes where sometime it feels like people are hella competitive next to you -- ugh. not a fan of that). So yeah - first class here: excellent experience. Now going back to Joe: The reason why I'm truly blown away by Purple Yoga is that -- not only are the studios amazing -- but Joe, the owner.. takes the time to acknowledge you, accommodate you, and make you feel welcome. He was receptive to my comments about his studio and welcomed me back even though I was being wishy-washy to commit (contract work at a law firm does that unfortunately).. I felt like I could meet him and call him friend even though I have not had the fortune of meeting him yet. His efforts and passion for the two humble but beautiful studios definitely shows. I couldn't feel more welcome to this business -- by Joe, by Amy today, and just by the people I've met in the two visits. I'm all for passion - and it's great to see it in a business like Purple Yoga. I am an absolute fan of Purple Yoga. If you're a local yelper connected to me and seeking a good spark to your energy - message me and we'll go together. The intro package was a godsend to my nonexistant bank account and I'm definitely saving up to join as long as I can before I get displaced for work. Five solid stars. Had a community class on Wednesday with Sid. I really enjoyed it! It wasn't a particular difficult flow, but I definitely worked up a sweat and Sid's no-nonsense, you-are-a-warrior affirmations were really starting to make me feel like a badass. Also, he's really funny so it was actually a pleasure listening to him talk for an hour. Facility is really nice, with a locker room, showers, and other amenities. read more

They are just finishing up a May Mantra that was a challenge to do 20/31 days of yoga at $105. Purple Yoga features instructor of diverse backgrounds and identities. Alex Roberts has an athletic mindful background and while his red classes have a vinyasa flow, he will add additional poses for those who want a challenge. There are instructors that teach at a faster pace if that is the style you want. I took my dad to do yoga who has never practiced yoga ever before (67 years old) and he is not super fit, but he is able to do yoga at his own pace. I have taken Alex's class in both Fullerton and Long Beach. Red does more push-ups and flow, while green does more stances with no push-ups. read more

I love purple yoga. I am becoming a regular at Paula's 6:30 am class on Tues and Thurs. She is great. Her practice is soothing and flows well. I have scoliosis which I had surgery for, placing rods and pins in my spine and she is great about suggesting modifications to certain poses for me. I always love her class ready to take on the day. I've also experienced Siri and Jamie. Both are great and slightly more lively rather than relaxed. Not a bad thing at all. Just different styles. Lastly I most recently experienced class with lisbeth. I have mixed feelings about her class. I'm 24 but have quite an old soul and her class (Wednesday at 230pm) was a class of ladies my age. More giggly than I'm used to but everyone's preference is different. Her class is however INTENSE. She does alot of core strength and a day later I feel the burn! Great for when I need the extra challenge. Overall purple yoga is highly recommended and I see no end in my practice! Thanks ladies!! read more

LOVE this place. As soon as I took Bobby W.'s class I was hooked on the studio and I basically won't go to any other teacher's classes now. That class is why I kept coming back. Just try not to go all out with the first flow, or you will hate yourself towards the end because he builds onto the sequence with each flow. The studio offers a good variety of classes, heated and non-heated. Prepare.to.sweat. All hot classes are defaulted to 100 degrees. The two top corner spots get great air flow if the heat is too much. read more

I really wanted to try this studio. But I called to ask about their covid safety protocols, and unfortunately I just don't feel safe going here. They don't require proof of vaccination, they don't require masks in indoor yoga rooms (contrary to what's stated on their website), and they don't take your temperature. They literally told me that they consider it "an honor system." I wish enforcing basic safety protocols wasn't a political issue, but clearly they've chosen which side to be on, and it's not the side of reason. read more

One of the best yoga studios I've ever been to. Try Siri, she's the BEST of the best! I enjoy the atmosphere, the classes and the pricing. Though prices have gone up since I've attended several years ago, I went yesterday and at $20 got my fill of challenging yoga, during Purple 70! TIP: I highly suggest just doing the community classes. Yes, they get packed quickly, and they are usually easier classes, but for HALF the price of a normal class (now $10) why not?!
