Purple Woods is not too far from the city but still remote enough to find spots away from artificial light and enjoy nature in the darkness at night. The trail was very well kept and not too hilly. Good mix of tall trees as well as meadow. Other than lots and lots of fireflies, we also saw bats and heard an owl.
There were ticks and mosquitoes, which is to be expected, so come prepared with bug spray.
