2024 review Today is a beautiful hot day for the beach and…read morewe arrived comfortably around 11am and parking was slowly filling up on the closer lots. $5/hour or $40 all day, there is parking police patrolling when we arrived. We chose to park on the west end by the boat marinas and it's a close walk to the white sand beach and lighthouse pier. Few more minutes to walk to the info hub, food truck and washrooms make it pretty easy anywhere on beach. The washrooms are also next to two simple playgrounds and splash pads. Nothing fancy but good place to rinse off the kids before getting back into the car. The sand is freshly groomed and very soft. Minor pebbles, debris that the kids could walk bare feet on. There was lots of space to play and set up camp, not as busy as expected especially arriving this late in the morning. In my honest opinion, while sitting on the towel ground, I could smell an odd aroma. It's probably an algae smell in the water and sands lingering around. I preferred sitting higher up from the wet sand and trenches the kids were digging up to get more airflow. No one else seemed to mind but when the gentle breeze wasn't blowing there was a weird smell. Feedback from my partner said the water is nice but as you go out further, there was some algae pockets in the lake sand making it kinda gross and slimy. Important to check by laws about what you can or cannot bring to the beach. There is frequent beach police patrolling the sands. Today's water quality levels online and on the beach showed it to be really low. Always check beach water quality before leaving as some have been in the red this summer. All in all, a decent place to go for a nice sandy beach. Kites, frisbee, water blow up toys, sand castles and kayaks in the water, this place is pretty chill to hang out at. The kids are having fun today and want to come back.

We came here mainly for a walk and managed to finish a section of a trail which spans about 4km both ways. Trail is decent but not as nice as the one in Rouge Valley. Trail is also a bit narrow and not many pretty sights or well maintained grasses along the way. Beach sand has lots of pebbles so not the greatest for barefoot adventures. You do get to approach a long dock with a lighthouse at the end of the path which gives you a nice open view of boats docked and sailed. Overall not much wow factor here asides from a little walk and some lakefront views. Unless you live in the neighborhood not worth the trip.

That could be hard on some peoples feet. I didn't go swimming as I wasn't sure about the water quality. But I did see several people swimming. It's a nice place but there were lots of mosquitoes around. Hubby got bitten so many times that his legs got swollen. The gift shop is quite small with no where to sit inside to get out of the heat. There is one handicap washroom at the gift shop & some picnic benches outside of the gift shop. The washroom near the beach was okay for a pubic park washroom. It was super hot in there though. All the windows were closed so all the heat stayed trapped inside. Not sure if I would come back here. They need shower facilities near the beach but there weren't any in the area I visited.

Place is hopping with everyone enjoying the last long weekend of the summer with amazing weather. The park could use help with its facilities being overwhelmed when use is at capacity. I would highly suggest to the City, that signs be posted on how to actually get to the waterfront! After parking, the washrooms are to your right, and there seems to be a small walking trail to the left. So, which way to go? We ended up going left, which led us nowhere after a few minutes, but no problem we just backtracked. To the RIGHT, keep walking, and you will see a small underpass, take that and keep walking .... to the waterfront, and a bike trail. We took a ton of photos, and I always feel like I'm on vacation when I'm next to the water! Suggestions: 1. Take and wear sunscreen and a hat 2. Bring a water bottle, there are no stores in the immediate area 3. Bring insect repellent, there are a lot of flies and mosquitoes 4. Wear comfortable shoes 5. I didn't see any picnic tables, except near the entrance, so if you want to eat, you can do so before or after

In the oddball docks/ industrial area/ harbour front/ condo hell area next to Queens Quay East with traffic in plain sight, and cyclists whizzing by on the trail going to Cherry Beach. It's not somewhere I would think of going to hang out by the water, as there are quieter spots within a short walk that seem nicer, but I was with my cherished 5AM Club group and it was right near summer solstice in June with the longest days and all, we were in touch with the universe, yada yada so we trudged along the water's edge heading east from our yoga spot under the trees at Harbour Square Park East. So there we were at Sugar Beach yo. There was one crazy dude screaming at the lake from the dock, so okay, he seems harmless... Then, after doing our karma 5AM stuff, and it was 45 minutes after that when we stumbled upon a small party group at Sugar Beach. They were still up from a Monday night of shenanigans so they figured why not start a small fire for roasting marshmallows, which would pair well with their beer and spliffs. We decided to join them for a roasted marshmallow and snapped a couple pics. Was a lot of fun and who says Toronto isn't a friendly place to hang out? How have I not written a review for Milliken Mills Park? Well, let's fix this gap now…read more For years, I often got this park's name mixed up with Milliken Park at the southeast corner of Steeles Avenue East and McCowan Road. I still do occasionally. Milliken Mills Park is next door to Milliken Mills High School, behind Milliken Mills Community Centre and McDonald's. I need to think more M's here. I have often parked in the lot that the community centre, McDonald's, and the park all share. I'm either returning library books or eating in my car after grabbing some food at McD's. During this pandemic, the outdoor basketball court has been closed. The small playground is still being used by kids who were happily playing there on Saturday. Most folks are walking around the park to get some fresh air and exercise. It's a medium-sized park. The dandelions are out right now, all fuzzy and white. In the wintertime, many kids are tobogganing here. The hills are manmade and aren't exactly huge. However, they delight tobogganers, so it's all good. Washrooms are typically available at the community centre. I'm not sure if they are during this pandemic. It's a decent park. I should drop by more often. (219)
