Fresh Roasted Turkey Wrap

The Purple Fiddle is your stop for an amazing lunch in Thomas, West Virginia. Everything is very fresh and the Roasted Turkey is delicious. The wrap was Fresh Roasted Turkey, Homemade Cranberry Sauce with walnuts, lettuce and cream cheese. The Salsa is homemade and the ice cream comes in several flavors to choose from. You will be happy that you stopped in to visit the Purple Fiddle.

I stopped by the Purple Fiddle while visiting the town of Thomas for the first time. I had read a lot of positive things about this place so I had to check it out. I got there about 30 min before a free band was about to play so it wasn't crowded however, once the band started the line backed up and seats were getting full. The atmosphere is quite nice with indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich that came with chips and a pickle. It was pretty tasty but it did take about 30 minutes to come out of the kitchen. The staff were friendly. They have a nice selection of ice cream and t-shirts you can purchase. I would go back if I'm ever in the area again.

Local bar. Great beer list, fantastic live music, dancing and relaxing environment. Service is not bad. Some bands sell out, so worth buying tickets early. Not much seating. A great time, always. Highly recommended.

I've heard a lot about Purple Fiddle but never had the opportunity to make it out, until now. I didn't realize they do afternoon shows! Such a nice surprise. Lines can get long, so get there early. I ordered the turkey wrap, which came with chips and a pickle. Wrap was really good! Had cream cheese and a cranberry chutney, which was a nice balance or creamy and sweet. Food took a long time to come out after ordering which was my main disappointment. Looks like they might be understaffed. Otherwise a nice experience.

BEST LIVE MUSIC & BEER SELECTION in the area. The talent level they source is impressive for such a small town. The Purple Fiddle has been going strong for 20 years and the owner, John, has developed a deep and wide network of musicians and bands. Definitely the place to check out in the evenings if you're staying in Thomas or Davis.

We came for the music on Saturday night with the Mama Said String Band. Great venue for music. Recommend the Grateful Dead cocktail.

A hearty sandwich, great service... Then I think we met an angel at the Purple Fiddle today. Jessie saw my chilly pup and offered him a sweater her late pup had worn. Fit him perfectly, he was happy and toasty on the patio. She followed up with a collection of more sweaters looking for a good home. I offered to share with another family who had a dog of similar size (dang, didnt fit). Great food, hard working staff serving customers beautifully. Kindness and a touch of magic. What more can you ask of a community treasure?

What an amazing place! Just a fun, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere! The music was jamming. We only came for drinks and enjoyed their beer menu, mostly from local craft. The food seemed limited to sandwiches; but I cannot speak to their quality. It's clear the staff take great pride in this groovy little gem.

I could probably spend every day just sitting inside or outside of this place sipping some cool beer I've never had before or a Pabst Blue Ribbon because it's hipster af and delicious and enjoying this place for what it is, Amazing! The people who work here are all cool cats and the people I have met here over the years when traveling through or visiting are too. The music I've listened to here has always been mellow and relaxing and the food which I mostly always get the same items; the hummus platter, the veggie wrap, chips and artichoke dip or a veggie burger and they are always great. Towns like this and places like this make my heart smile and should exist in more states across America. Thank you to the town of Thomas and Thank you Purple Fiddle for being cool as a cucumber on ice on a hot summer day. Much love, See ya soon enough...

Went to the Purple Fiddle to watch singer/song writer Davey O. Great music and food.

They give you ear plugs in the room but I never heard my neighbors. The front desk is in the bar area. Everyone is welcoming and friendly. Bonus that you get 2 free drink tokens during your stay. THIS IS TRULY TRAGIC. Holy crap, the difference an owner can…read moremake here... Full disclosure, this place has broken my heart and as a patron that has spent well over $10k here in the last several years I'm at a loss for words. I met my partner at the Billy - yeah that still happens - and its gutting and egregious to see such feckless owners swoop into this lovely Appalachian business and run this with the care one would expect from a a Wayfair adorned short-term rental. Yes, the bones are still good here, but the superficial facade of community runs as deep as the chipping yellow paint on the "Billy Arrow" outside. The new Billy, in my deeply storied opinion on West Virginia history, sees right through the propped-up idea of "community" and it equates to the long history of outside interest here in the Mountain State that saw countless greedy men move in to extract and exploit the resources of the good people of Tucker County. The good people of West Virginia. I see it everyday and its no more true then than it is now with the Billy Motel and Ish Kitchen. You can almost smell the lack of community awareness and grasp with every high priced pour of el Toro cocktails. Its sickening to see my favorite establishment in this state now owned buy careless ownership that at one hand talk about community, but stab their "own" in the back. Its not community focused. Big time. One would think an owner in a town of 600ish with about 15-20 potential employees that would work service would respect the roots laid out by those here. Those that came before. But, I digress, because as the former states, its all about making as much money as one can and screwing over the locals when one does swoop in as an out of state interest. Its so, so sad. I will no longer be spending a dime here and have canceled all future bookings as I had planned about $2k worth of lodging this Spring through Fall for work and leisure that brings me here from Fayetteville all the time. I am not saying its a bad spot and the locals there are doing their best, but just know this place is coal-baron full on and if they care so much about the community they so share I would love to see them put their money where their mouth is. But, as a native West Virginian, and if you know anything about the state, we all know that will not happen. Montani Semper Liberi (for the DC/AZ folks, that means Mountaineers are Always free )

That led us straight to Heidi's Bakery & Cafe, and honestly? Total home run. There's a sign hanging on the wall that says: "Homemade with love and butter." That pretty much tells you everything you need to know. You can taste the care and quality in everything they make. We ordered the BLTs on homemade sourdough, and they were absolute perfection --thick, delicious bacon, crisp beautiful lettuce, sweet tomatoes, and sourdough that deserved its own standing ovation. A truly excellent BLT is a thing of beauty, and Heidi's version was gorgeous. The french fries had some kind of secret seasoning situation happening that made them completely addictive. Every bite somehow got better. And then the desserts. Cupcakes. Cookies. Pastries. Basically a direct shipment from heaven itself.
