So my update is is that I previously stated that I would be a customer for life and I'm no longer with them.. although that doesn't negate what I put in my post for the awesome customer service up until that point and the event that we attended But I'm a senior on a disability allowment and I had enjoyed the pain in the year discount and that was no longer available yet when I moved nobody told me that I could just suspend the service until I found my new place and then activated it without the extra fee.. nobody told me that and I would have liked to have been told that to make that decision so I canceled my service and sent my modem back because I didn't know where I was going to live during this housing crisis it didn't take me long to find a place and where I was staying and renting already had services so I didn't need them there but I had to pay another connection fee and I've since spoken to purple cow and they said that shouldn't have happened that I should have been told that I could spend my services until I found my new place so I didn't feel included and heard and considered yet when I go to the YMCA their signs there for seniors with purple cow and I'm like oh it must just belong to certain seniors and I don't need a box that moos every time I open it.. I needed the annual discount I needed not to be charged a reconnection fee because I needed to be told that I could suspend the service until I had my new address.. so I'm now with somebody who heard me and I had a really good conversation with purple cow why I was canceling my service and they said they would put a note for if I came back about the connection fee but we'll see how true that is.. right now I just needed to be somewhere that heard me and appreciated that I needed the discounted fees purple cow did offer me a discounted fee after I put in my request and disconnect but my new place had already connected me and it shouldn't have gotten to that point before I was offered that given my concerns about the annual option being dropped and already reporting that I shouldn't have been charged the reconnection fee so I'm no longer with purple cow read more

Preferred this service exactly one month ago. They sent a defective modem that rattled when I picked it up. They said it was fine and that the issue was with my coax port. They sent a tech out to run a new line, an appointment I waited weeks for and had to take a day off for. New line didn't solve the issue. Sent the same tech back who said it was the modem. They finally sent a new modem and I have been waiting for three days for them to activate it. Every interaction is a new lie from them, claiming it's being expedited and will be today or tomorrow. I sent them screen shots of the conversation and they were just oh well, we don't activate on weekends so it will be Monday or Tuesday. This is beyond horrible customer service. I will be demanding a full refund and do not recommend under any circumstance. read more

I ordered a complete package from purple cow internet. They said they could provide service. After paying for the service they asked bell to port my phone. Bell discontinued my service and I was unable to get emails After 2 days of work I finally got my email service back Purple cow internet repaid me with an apology. I had a really good experience with Purple Cow, and was happy with the speed and pricing, until recently. Without notice, my Internet subscription was canceled and shut off. Support told me is was due to lack of payment, as the autopay wasn't going through. Still, I never received any notice about this. After three days, it was "reconnected," but it still wasn't working. Turns out, they activated it at my old address, despite me sending my new address when I moved. Now, as an online student, I'll be completely without Internet for nearly a week. read more

One of the worst experiences I've ever had with a company. They constantly lie and pass their customers over to new customer service agents every minute and keep no history of your issues. They send broken products and then force you to wait several days before even offering help. We are on our third modem in 6 months and when their technician came to see what was wrong, he suggested we leave them because anyone is better than PC. Internet outages daily, some of the worst customer service I've ever dealt with, unreliable and a scam of a company. Horrific latency spikes non stop even while wired. DO NOT get this if you plan on gaming because your ping will jump into the thousands constantly. If you run a speed test it will show their advertised speeds 50% of the time, if you run latency tests to the standard servers in Canada and the US it will jump up into the thousands throughout the tests. You can watch youtubes 'hd' with some buffering but I could not imagine trying to stream anything close to 4k. read more

We started with Purple Cow in January. Service has been top notch. Customer service has been exemplary. We had to have a tech come install ours, he was great. We had an issue in the beginning, and they noted it before we even started using it and sent us the piece we needed to fix the issue. Another time our signal seemed to get weak, got on the phone with them - they did something on their end and everything was right as rain. Seems there client service centres are in Canada, as reps are easy to understand (ie, not outsourced outside of Canada). We've recommended Purple Cow to many people now. read more

We've been with Purple Cow for about a year now. At first, it feels weird to only deal with the company via texting... but they're incredibly responsive and the whole process works very well (read: A lot easier to deal with than a giant call center manned by drones who are reading off of a sheet like the bigger guys do). Setup, issues, general questions are all a breeze at your phone's finger tips and the internet service itself is solid and at a much more reasonable price than the other guys! If you're being soaked for internet and the up/down speed with PC looks to be something that will fit your needs, certainly give them a shot! read more

This internet started off great but now after 3 years of having it, it has gotten extremely slow and is absolutely terrible. I would not recommend Purple Cow to anyone at this point. I've been with Purple Cow for about a year. The Internet service is spotty/ not reliable enough to work from home and customer service is unimaginably horrible. They can only be reached by text message and when they respond they will make the most passive person angry. They have the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my entire life! No customer service is better than ignorant, rude jerks. The service is cheap so I expect they think they can get a way treating their customers like dog meat. Brutally slow there are ping spikes and these days they have too many users for their small network leading to congestion and slow internet during peak hours. They are the same price as east link these days so save yourself the headache. If your a gamer definitely avoid as your ping will be over 50 locally and 100 to new york where it should be 16 local and 40 to new york. read more

Advertised as 100mbps download and 10mbps upload, I've never reached above 10mbps download speed I normally max out at 9.6 mbps. And upload speed is normally not even megabytes I get kilobytes. Wifi doesn't reach the whole house;cant have more than 5 or 6 devices on at the same time or else none of them will work. read more

My internet has crapped out the same time daily for the last two weeks. It goes out at 11:45am and doesn't come back on until 2pm. With two kids doing home learning, and myself those are prime school hours. It's as if you are power cycling the service. And when asked about it we are told we need a new cable splitter... yet it was just fine before lockdown. And craps out the same time daily. read more

Had enough of Ma Bell and her greed so I switched to an upstart I had never heard of before (yeah I know). Unbelievably nothing worked! The people on the phone were extremely polite and gave me oodles of suggestions for fixing the connection problems. I even got four visits from Eastlink linemen and one chat with Purple Cow's resident expert who had never heard of the connection problems I was having. It was his sage advice to have all the old wiring, right from the pole to the router, replaced. That must have cost somebody a pretty penny (not me!). About two months has lapsed since first signing on and today I had enough of the come and go service. Once again I called Purple Cow about my frustrations and even suggested that I might have to go completely nuts and sign back up with Bell. The really sweet sounding young lady I was talking to suddenly had a stroke of genius! She said "is your router plugged directly into the wall?" It is now and I have no complaints. I'm reliant on internet from home and use an ethernet plug in connection and have never ever in my life experienced connection blackouts for 10 minutes every hour like I have with purple cow internet. Absolutely trash connection, speed testing at 3mbps download any time after 2am, just got off work, 4:34am trying to watch tv and can't even buffer netflix, about once a week just loses connection completely for about 30 minutes, not just mine I have friends that have the same problem in the south end of halifax. Pay the extra 25 bucks and get fibre op and actually get the service you're paying for, had fibre that was 98 after tax with 950mbps download !! Now paying 60+tax for 10mpbs on a good day! It is one of the worst internet service in Nova Scotia. They don't have any technical person to solve any basic issue even a troubleshooting. They always blame Eastlink for everything. If there any issue then they will create a ticket for Eastlink and you have to wait minimum 24 hours to get an update. Meanwhile you will be Internet less. This was the worst service I ever received from an internet provider. Five times I waited four to six hours for a technician to attend to install the vox box. Each time they attended the technician advised me that a truck with a man lift was required to attach the line to the house. This information was relayed each time to the person by text at Purple Cow. They did not take any responsibility for this error and blamed it on Eastlink that was doing the installation. This whole process took over a month and during that time, after I was informed I would not be charged for services was charged twice. This caused me to co tact them via text to have it retracted. To add insult to injury, they sent me $25 off only to rescind it saying it was meant for the person who recommended their company. In the end I cancelled it and was advised to send the modem back for me to get my money refunded. Further after I cancelled it Eastlink attended and again could not install the box as the line was never installed from the pole. This is the worst company to deal with and to only deal with them via text, is so impersonal. I do not recommend this company read more

I have been waiting for more than a week for a tech from Eastlink to come and connect the coaxial cable from the telephone pole to my home. Purple cow does not have any technicians and subcontracts with Eastlink. If you have a technical problem that requires a technician YOU WILL wait for more than 2 to 3 weeks for a technician to come out and fix the problem. read more
