Worst internet company ever they have more down time then up time every night the internet has mad problems I've called them atleast 50 times about it. They refuse to send out new modems for a service that supposed to be 24hr our real up time more like 16hrs a day. Yet they still wanna charge full price... the government needs to step in on these company's if there not able to hold up on there end of the contract. We had some troubles getting the wifi to connect when we first got it. The password provided to us with the shipped modem wasn't working. The lady I spoke to through Customer support (Nadine) was amazing throughout the entire process. A tech was sent out, but unfortunately this didn't solve the problem. I got in touch with Nadine again, and she went above and beyond with each and every interaction I had with her! She walked me through the process of resetting everything, and had the utmost patience with me even though I am not tech savvy at all! This is absolutely what customer service is all about, that woman truly put a smile on my face and left me feeling cared for! Although it took a while for things to be smoothed out, we now have internet and I couldn't be happier with the customer service I reviewed from Nadine! read more

Internet is terrible. On a hard wired connection with no other devices on the network, you can barely watch youtube at 480P. Customer service tells you someone will call to come and look at it, but they never do. When you call to find out when they are coming to fix, they just make you restart the whole "reset the modem etc etc" process all over again before they will even talk to you. I am so disheartened with City Wide. When I signed up in the summer of 2023 for internet and TV, everything was great for a while. Then I had streaming problems with the bedroom TV; after many calls they seemed to have solved the problem, however it's started again. I've had two recordings stop, for no apparent reason; I actually view each evening to be sure regular show setfor recording are being recorded. Now,since early January, not all shows are recording; I get a message that a system error has been encountered. Without On Demand, there isn't any way to watch the show. I've called and been told they are checking into this. im not paying for second or third rate tv service, and to have this sloppy service disappoints. Even communication to let customers know what is happening would help. read more

I followed up to ask what happened and was told that the tech stated nobody was home despite him not knocking on our door. We were home and waiting for service. I have internet, home phone and tv with city wide and the tv is awful they sent me out a new package to put on the tv which made it worst so I was using the old way with Atop today I turned on my tv and it told me I know longer have Atop so where did it go and the other new improved way keeps starting and shopping all the while I'm watching it and it's after 5 o'clock so no good to call before when I called I got different people every time I called and everyone told me something different to do very confusing, all in all I am very upset with this system I would not recommend city wide tv read more

I have been using City Wide for about 10 months and find the service excellent. They respond to my e-mails immediately which is a big improvement over some of the other companies. The price is reasonable and the staff are very helpful and they reply quickly. Keep up the good work City Wide and thank you. read more

If I could give them a 0 star review I would. I do not recommend this company at all. I paid and set up internet on 17th of July. I then receieved email stating ta ech would be at my place between 5 and 8:30pm on Friday, July 26. I waited, nobody showed up. The next business day we phoned and were told we didnt need a tech, we would get the modem in the mail and just have to plug it in and we'd have interent. I got modem a few days later, plugged it in, no internet. So I called CityWide back and was told a tech did actually need to come and that the one who was suppose to come on the 26th "couldn't find the place." After a couple days I called to ensure they were sending a tech again as I haven't heard anything. I also made it clear several times that I do not get home from work until 5pm and am not leaving early again like I did last time for them not to show up. The agent said it would take 1-2 days for for them to sort one to come. Thursday, August 8th, without any email notification, a tech showed up at 4:15pm. I was just walking out of the door as I was heading to NB for the weekend; again it's luck I was even home. He told me all the lights were on, on the modem, and it's nothing on his end, it's on CityWide's end, and left. The next day, I got an email for my next invoice payment. I should not have any payment due as I didn't even have service from the original payment made. My roommate called me later that day and told me CityWide told them I was talking to a guy that day and that a new tech is going to be scheduled. I was not talking to anyone yet that day, neither was any other contacms on my account except my roommate when he was told that. I phoned CityWide back, and wanted to manager call back, and to ensure when they assign a tech that it is after 5pm and I recieved an email notification like I did the first time. He told me he would personally keep his eye on it for me. On August 13 I recieved a notification that a tech would arrive between 8am and 12pm on August 15. I phoned CityWide back, clearly distressed by this entire situation and they apologized and said they would reschedule it, again. I also asked for a manger call back. The manager phoned me back a few hours later and left a voicemail, I was at work. I called her back about 30 minutes later and left a voicemail (and haven't heard from her since.) On August 14th, I get a call from CityWide, telling me they rescheduled a tech to come out on the 16th between 12pm and 4pm. Again, a time nobody will be home. Today, August 16th, my neighbours knock at my door and tell me to see if I have internet, a tech from CityWide is outside and connected it for me. I was not notified this tech was even coming! Anyway, I tried, no connection. I went outside and asked the tech to come in - as he should have done in the first place. He said, by the looks of it, it may be your router. So, I went out and got a new router and I still do not have internet! I called CityWide to cancel and get a refund, I also requested interest to be put back on the credit card as they were holding the money for a month without any service. This agent could cancel my account, but can't do anything with the refund as only managers can, and they don't work on the weekend. Great. read more

I'm on day 6 of an internet outage in my area with no eta for resolution nor any explanation as to what the issue is. There's no way to check the status of their Network online either; I've had to call every day and speak to an agent to get any updates. Thankfully, they have a "call back" feature for their tech support line or I would have been waiting on hold for 45mins+ every time I called. Well, six days into this outage and 80$ in data top ups later (outage happened at the end of my cellular billing cycle), I'm considering jumping ship for a more reliable ISP that can, at the very least, give an ETA for resolution after "diligently working to fix the issue" for 6 days. I know that City Wide uses Eastlink infrastructure so the outage itself may be out of their control... But what is in their control is their response to this issue which has been professionally inadequate so far even for the cheap prices they charge. City Wide is not for everyone. I'd be hesitant to refer them to friends and family unless those friends were on a tight budget and only use internet to check non-urgent emails and watch a YouTube video here and there. read more

The internet shuts off around 10pm until maybe 3am, if it feels like it. It doesn't have any after hours technical support and when you try to reach out to them their customer support is rude. 0/10 recommend. You're better off spending your money and time somewhere else. After 1 week of outages and poor to no response from.company they finally contacted me and said they could have a tech at my cost cost come out, canceled them. Had them for 3 years first 2 yrs no issue this last year the connection is down every 2 or 3 days get maybe 10 to 15 mbits and am paying for 300. Then canceled it and was charged for 2 months with absolutely no usage. I'm fighting with them to have that taken off. This company owes me a refund due to an overpayment. They said that they will pay the refund once I return their modem. I sent back their modem but no one at the company accepted the package and it has been sitting at the post office for two weeks. When I contacted City Wide, they said they have been having an issue with Canada Post and are not accepting their packages due to an investigation so they will not issue me my refund. Navnet is no longer! They are now City Wide Communications, their previous main competitor. I signed up with Navnet for connection on a Monday, and by the time, the previous Friday, I was called to confirm my installation, City Wide had taken over. I have read some negative comments and reviews about City Wide, but my experience so far has been very good. A benefit of the takeover is that Navnet used to charge $50 plus tax per month and as part of your first payment, you paid a $20 deposit on the wired modem. City Wide is only $47.95 plus tax per month with no deposit on the modem. Other setup charges (connection, wireless router purchase etc) are similar to Navnet's previous charges. City Wide did waive both their connection and shipping charges when they set me up, though, so all I paid was the router charge ($34.95 plus tax) on top of my first 5 weeks of service. They even hand delivered the modem and router to my apartment instead of mailing them as they normally do. City Wide also have a referral scheme whereby you get a $25 credit each time you recommend a friend. Given that they are a small business that knows every customer PERSONALLY, all your friend need do is quote your name. I have already had enough credits to ensure that my January bill is paid! read more

First time around equipment not picked up in time and refused to refund 1st month fee when no service used. Tried again and told me connected, it was disconnected at the pole, which I knew and told them, couldn't have someone come out, reconnected with Eastlink, they connected at pole, went back to Citywide, service worked 5% of the time. Was offline day and night, no amount of power cycling or changing cable jacks helped. 5 calls into Tech support where "left messages" outlining all troubleshooting steps taken and ongoing problem over 2 weeks went unanswered and normal wait times if you get a chance in daytime to call is 2-3 hours. Filed BBB complaint, they told me it's my fault and owner refused to address the problems outlined above in BBB responses. NEVER go with these people. read more

This company is promising the world, charging you, but not delivering. When you ask for a refund for services and equipment not delivered, they refuse to refund any money; even though they did not hold up their of the "contract", albeit, a verbal contract. My wife and I were going to switch service providers since the promotion we had with Bell was to expire, so we looked at several options, and chose City Wide Communications for internet and home phone. On May 22, 2018 we called, they explained how their service works, we liked it, and agreed to prepay for the equipment, installation and first month service, a total of $195.33. From there, we were to hear back in 1-2 days for the exact appointment date and time, and the equipment was going to be sent out in 1-2 days by Canada Post. The window for installation was initially 3 days, but we would know exact date and time when they called us with the appointment in 1-2 days right ?. Eight days later, no one contacted us, no one showed up, and no equipment was sent. When I called them to ask for the installation date as we were at the end of our service with Bell, still didn't have a date or time for installation, with a long list of excuses, it was supposed to be escalated, and we never heard back. I called back half a day later to cancel since they never actually did anything, and was told that the refund policy was explained, and they were not going to refund the money we spent, even though they broke their contract by not providing any product or service as described. There are currently 34 Better Business Bureau complaints about this company, and it has an "F" rating. If I had done my research properly, I would have found that, and probably made a different decision, but they took my money, never delivered on anything they said they would, and are now refusing to return it. To all those that say the service is cheap, it could be free, but if you can't get it delivered, the price doesn't really matter. Their customer service is bad, just as others describe it. read more

I am at a loss for words - I didn't have many problems originally. Their price went up approx. $10.00 a month without notice. I then moved, called Citywide once to get it disconnected. I was then receiving email's stating my service would be cut-off. I thought that was strange so I replied to the email and told them I requested a disconnection. I then received an email with an invoice attached because it wasn't disconnected. I called again and was told there was nothing on the file. The ignorant lady I spoke with was TELLING ME I DIDN'T call to have it disconnected. I told her I EVEN EMAILED.. she responded with you can't disconnect through email. I am trying to switch to City Wide Communications. There is a problem related to the booking process for technicians and to their ability to respond to emails. I paid on the 11th September. But the booking for technicians wasn't until the 24th. I responded by email to confirm the technician booking and they failed to show up. This has happened twice. They do not appear to respond or read email replies. Then when you phone up you don't get given a new time, this has to be requested, it gets emailed to you. Highly inefficient from the customers perspective. Of course, City wide organized that our internet would be disconnected on the 24th from the other company. So now we are without internet, with no new date for connection (at least after 1st October). read more

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH CITYWIDE!! They sent me a modem with no cables to connect and the wrong instructions. Called them on a Friday and got a voice message saying they would get back to me ASAP. TUESDAY I got an email saying they would send a rep to my home. I had already decided to not proceed with the service as there was no customer service. I called and told them I was returning their equipment. The rep, Chris told me I would get a full refund as the service was not activated. That was May, Now mid July I have yet to receive a refund. Several phone calls and several reps later, I was told no refund. I requested to speak to a manager which I was told would take 24 hours. 7 days later a manager called me and left a very rude message saying I would not get a refund and that they did not receive the equipment back. When I spoke to the other reps they all confirmed they received the equipment. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they are now ignoring their requests to the complaint. So i Paid Citywide $129 for nothing. read more

Worst customer service experience I've ever had - I am absolutely appalled by the way they treat their customers. I would not recommend their service to anyone, ever. My internet service never did work properly, but what made my experience terrible was their rude and bullying treatment over the phone - I have never in my life as a paying customer been treated as poorly as I was with City Wide. The problem I was having was that they sold me a faulty wireless router, that didn't work right from the day it was installed. They refused to look at that, and instead continuously blamed eastlink's signal. When they became incredibly rude and threatened to cancel my service I hung up - went right to eastlink, set up an account and brought a wireless modem home and my internet has been working flawlessly from that point on. At this point City Wide's tech support has not called me back, and I will be expecting a refund as soon as I can get through to them to cancel my service. After looking online I see that the treatment I received is not uncommon - I should have read reviews and BBB complaints before signing up for the service. read more

Had good service with these guys for a year until we moved. Put in the order on 9th of the month. Well in advance. Called twice and emailed twice before someone finally got back to me on the 23rd. Then told it would be 3 days til hook up. We waited 10 days without a word or an apology. I had to call the better business bureau before somebody finally agreed to come install it. We bought Internet, TV and phone service from this firm which did not meet our needs because of multiple issues they could not resolve, extremely poor customer service and tech-support. The equipment which we purchased was returned April 18 and we were told that a refund of $114.89 would be forthcoming shortly. It is now two months later and despite dozens of calls to them and promises they made that this would be resolved we still do not have a refund. This is been a source of huge stress as my health is not good. They do not return calls, say they have no physical location and refuse to let me speak with a supervisor. They promise someone will call me back within 20 minutes or 24 hours and we never hear from them. There are multiple Better Business Bureau complaints filed which is reflective of their poor business practices. I believe this is just a scam and they are holding onto peoples' money which should be refunded as is their stated policy. Our attempts to get a refund have proved fruitless and they claim to have no physical location to visit to discuss our problem. I have no confidence that they ever had any intention of ever refunding my money despite the fact that the equipment was returned to them and I have evidence of this. Others have had the same problem and Citywide Ted to us that they have backlog of "hundreds" of people in the same position who have been waiting even longer than the two months we have even waiting. I have filed a VB complaint and would strongly advise other potential customers to stay far far away.I could not rate therm more poorly. read more

Citywide provides a terrible service, I have been with the company for 5 years, I got the internet "high" speed, and internet home phone package. I have never got the bandwidth they promised, and the phone cuts out a lot, constant busy signal. Worse yet, it sometimes emits an ear piercing screech, which has probably done damage to my hearing. Back when I signed up, there were very few options, that is no longer the case. New regulations has opened the industry up. When you call Citywide to complain they do nothing, they suggested I pay another 60 dollars to get a new modem, since the old one is part of the problem. I have to pay for a new modem, to hopefully get the service I am paying for. Not a chance, I'm not spending another dime with this company, and you shouldn't either. Can't use my android box, it is too slow, even though if I was getting the speed I am paying for it should be no problem. I am personally switching to eyesurf, it can't be any worse.
