If you don't have a minimum knowledge of technologies, they will use it to take advantage and charge you with extra work that is not necessary. it is like you bring your car to a mechanic to fix the motor, and they will say that need to test the tires to make sure they cover the issue of the motor. They lie with every argument and excuse of their work. In my case, this business did not even tell me what is the fee they will charge for their service. They said that they worked on my device for one hour doing some testing on the drives of my NAS(network-attached storage) when it is not necessary as already have been done but they didn't know because never talk to me about the job to be done and I never ask to do it. Which even could cause a loss of data. Thanks that I already saved the data. I requested before touch my device to call me to explain what is the job that I wanted to be done. It is like going to a mechanic and you ask to talk to a mechanic before working on your car, the mechanic never calls you and works on something that you don't need. then, they will charge you any amount of money. Poor service. Everything I bought there ended up not working. I bought a laptop there that I had to keep taking back becuase when I got it back, it had more problems. Something happened on my HDD and the OS wouldn't boot. I realize now I could've fixed it, but back then, I didn't know. So, they said they ordered another HDD from the manufacturer which took about two weeks, when I got it back, new HDD with a pirate copy of Windows on it, and lost all my data. Bought an external HDD and for some reason, the external enclosure messed up my HDD and another one I put in. Lost all the data. The partition table was completely lost. TO this day, I am not sure how that happened. I have never seen or heard of that happening before. read more

Through a long and embarrassing set of circumstances, I came to damage an exterior panel on my very new and very nice laptop. I browsed around for a few laptop repair places and settled on Nedtek as they were closest to me and had very affordable service rates. I emailed the service manager, John, Saturday night explaining my situation, and promptly received a reply a few minutes after opening hours on Sunday from John, letting me know his shop could help me and offering me a rough estimate for the costs involved. I dropped my laptop off that day, and it was ready for pickup the following day. Less than 24 hours - that's fast. The repairs were beautifully done and the final charges were reasonable and dead on the estimate. John and his team were personable, professional, and a pleasure to deal with, and I wouldn't hesitate to bring any tech issues to them in the future. read more

The Manger of Nedtek decided to write a comment on my review however he was mistaken in his information as I know for a fact my computer was not taken apart and the receipt listed what they did to my laptop. I have now found an awesome company to work on my computer. Oh did I mention they new what was wrong as soon as I mentioned the problem to them over the Phone. I have to say this was my first time going to this shop since I moved to Lower Sackville. I went there because it was close to me but it turned out to be one of the best place I could bring my laptop to be repaired. My laptop just suddenly decided that it wouldn't go past the boot screen (Windows wouldn't load). Having 2 years of computer programming in CEGEP (Quebec's version of college) under my belt I thought I could fix it but I tried everything in my power and was scared it was a hardware failure. Being a market trader this would have been very bad for me; if I lose my data I would have had to reprogram my trading systems and contact all my brokers to retrieve my login informations. I brought it in at Nedtek and was promptly welcomed by a very nice receptionist. Then John (if I recall), seemed like the manager anyway, came immediately and actually turned it on and tried a few things, without charging me I should add. Went into the Bios, checked the boot drives. I already tried that but maybe I could have missed something so I thought it was very nice of him to do so. Time is money, especially for me as if I don't have my computer to access my trading accounts I cannot make money. It only took 2 days for them to figure it out and they gave me a call to tell it was ready promptly. It wasn't much either, 75$ for the whole thing. Turned out something was corrupted in Windows and it wouldn't boot. Not only did they fix it, they optimised it as well. It takes about half the time it used to to turn on and it runs really smoothly. They even installed a software to keep me away for viruses/spywares since my AVG wasn't working properly. In overall I'm impressed with my experience. I hope I never have to go there again, not because I didn't like the service, but because I hope my computer never does this again. :) read more

These guys are great. Friendly, efficient and they helped me figure out what was wrong with my laptop and why it wasn't charging- looked it over to make sure other components of the computer were okay (I dropped it on the floor at my work) A competitor quoted me $300 to do a diagnostic and see if they could fix it... The tablet I bought here has stopped working twice in a couple of months. During the second service they said whoever opened the tablet last really ruined it and suggested that the damage looked intentional and it could not be repaired. When I said that they were the last to have it open, they insisted that someone else did this between those visits but it's not possible. After spending over $600, I don't wish to return. read more

Dropped my laptop off to replace a hinge. Got a call that the LED screen got broken while removing the hinge. Over two weeks later still waiting for my laptop and have been told that to replace a part that holds in the screen will cost me an additional 200.00 or they can fix it up the best they can and the computer will look "used" Really ticked off so far and wish I had NEVER gone there. read more

I find the guys at Nedtek fantastic. I have brought one laptop from home and a desktop from the office in to be fixed. They always call with exact information as to the problem and offer pricing on relevant fixes. However I agree with Phil C - the receptionist could have a better telephone manner, she can be very abrupt at times. read more

I've dealt with John & Nedtek for years & will continue, for as long as I live in Nova Scotia. He's a great guy, has fantastic customer service (he has even delivered my computer to my home at no charge! His tech guys are extremely knowledgeable, kind & helpful. His wife is remarkable for remembering customers' names even if she hasn't seen them in a year. I bought a fantastic refurbished computer from them, still loving it after 3 years. Brought my notebook there after it got stuck in a loop & they cleaned it up and DIDN'T CHARGE ME A PENNY! Told me to bring it back for another freebie if it happened again. It doesn't get any better than that. I just had to drop in with some of my homemade guacamole & organic corn chips as a thank you (probably had them all reeking of garlic the whole day but I know they loved it!). I HIGHLY recommend John & his team at Nedtek. Note: I had used other computer repair people when I first moved here, they were ok, one was not ok but this is my forever computer place from now on. read more
