This is one of Miami's a hidden gems! This hole is the wall doesn't look like much from the outside but as soon as you walk in you are greeted by the friendly staff and tasteful Cuban decor. Now let's get to the best part.... The FOOD is insanely good. The Cuban sandwich is by far my favorite in Miami. The perfect blend of juicy and crispy, the pork is perfectly seasoned and they don't skimp as you can see in the pics. What starts as a little hole in the wall with fast casual style decor turns out to be an absolutely delicious, beautifully plated experience with a fantastic, incredibly friendly server. I would expect this level of food from a much higher end restaurant with triple the price. We quite frankly over-ordered, not realizing the portion sizes were going to be MASSIVE, but we still stuffed our selves to bursting because everything was so good. Bottom Line: Great hole in the wall Cuban restaurant. Appetizers, soups, mains, desserts were amazing and well priced. The place apparently used to be a Puerto Rican restaurant but it changed hands, underwent new management, and redid the entire menu to Cuban food. Pros: yuca fries were crisp and had amazing sauce to accompany it, Calamari was crispy with great sauce, Congrí was tasty... with the perfect amount of moisture and not too dry, beef soup (soup of the day) was beefy and had great latin flavor, Cuban pork chunks (masitas) we're large/crispy/juicy/perfectly salted, flan had great texture and flavor (and I'm not a flan guy but I liked it). Cons: None that I can think of, it's a little far south from Miami downtown, but it's a great stopover if you're going to the keys or going to Black Point Marina for a day of fishing. read more

This restaurant had some of the best Cuban food we've ever had and we're Cuban!! Not only is the presentation top notch, but the quality of the food and the flavor of the dishes were so delicious! Everything we tried from the croquetas to the vaca frita (beef) with congri (mixed rice and black beans) and the cerdo (roasted pork) or the masitas (pork chunks) with congri were great selections! The fried calamari and the yuca frita are also great starter or side options! Be sure to save room for their homemade flan dessert and a Cuban coffee. We went on a Sunday afternoon looking for a quick bite and we found this hidden gem without even knowing since we live nearby. We ordered all kinds of food starting with appetizer a fried calamari that must be amongst the best that I have ever tasted crisp, firm yet not over cooked. Our main dishes were comprised of chicharrón de pollo, ropa vieja(shredded beef), pollo a la plancha and steak sandwich. Everyone finished their plate and cleaned them. The taste of each plate was on point. This is a business comprised of husband and wife and from the time we walked in we were greeted with a smile on their faces actually happy to see us( like if we were friends). This kind of hospitality and attention cannot be faked or recreated it's spontaneous and contagious. Even though the food took some time to come out, you know why once you see it the presentation is from a Zagat restaurant, not sure we're chef studied or took classes but the presentation combined with the taste make this restaurant in my eyes 5 stars. I hope they keep this up and that the portions stay the same too. Kudos to owners for bringing this place so close to home. High grade cuban food like grandma use to make it. The owners put lots of love into their craft. Dont be fooled by the address, the ingredients are all high quality, and the chef is the owner so he makes things with care. So far i have tried the steak sandwich, cuban sandwich, vaca frita, palomilla, breaded fish, and chicken breast. I would put those dishes against any other cuban restaurant. I ordered mofongo with skirt steak, mofongo had still full chunks of sweet plaintain that were not mashed and it was dry. I couldn't taste garlic.The only plus was it had a few pices of chicharrón. We found this cafe on the way to the airport and we're very pleasantly surprised. The food was absolutely amazing! All my orders are freshly prepare, not dry but juicy at with awesome taste. They have an outstanding plate presentation and portions are great. The owner is phenomenal and has outstanding chef. If your looking for quick bites this is not your place; because if you know about puertorican dishes and you want them fresh, not reheated, it takes few minutes. My husband and I had early dinner there on Tuesday, the 15th & I'm sorry to say that I was totally disappointed in my meal. I ordered mofongo with chicken. The mofongo was salty, the chicken had the appearance and taste as if it had been defrosted just prior to preparation and the arroz con gandules was tepid. I would have complained had the waitress come to our table at any time during our meal. She needs service training. We were the only customers there at that time, so it's not that she was busy at other tables. This is a new establishment, the owner was there and I believe it would have been prudent of him to stop at our table to welcome us and see if everything was in order. A major negative factor is their exhaust system if there is one, is not doing it's job. My clothes reeked afterwards. I wish them the best of luck as I believe that Cutler Bay as well as So. A co-worker had heard about this place and we are not too far so we decided to pass by and check it out for lunch. We will definitely be going back. Everything we ate had good flavor. Arroz con gandules, mofongo, carne frita, sorullo, and alcapurria. We were the only one's there when we went. The food took about 20 minutes to come out but it came out blazing hot and very fresh. Went to Puro Sazón on a Sunday afternoon. The place was packed, the staff were friendly but seemed stressed. The service was extremely slow. We waited 2 hours for our food. At one point, all of the tables were full but none of them had food. The food was very tasty when it finally arrived to the table and thank God we were still hungry and are blessed with the virtue of patience. We wish them the best but definitely have to come up with a better plan for customer satisfaction. If you want to try it, go during the day hours because the strip mall is kind of sketchy and go with patience, knowing that it could take a few hours before you have a bite. read more
