Went to the bar for a quick meet up and got a tequila sunrise by Florence and she was amazing and so nice! The food was tostones mixta it was good for the area. Service by Florence was super nice and attentive! My drinks were good too. The environment feels more upscale to what it use to be and let me tell you this place has been around for at least 15 years or more! But it's worth going to .. something different in homestead and classy.. we missing the live dj or music :) to keep it live! But other than that no disappointments!

I was expecting a tiny, cozy, mom and pop place, but this restaurant is rather large! It wasn't terribly busy, so it FELT like a mom and pop place, with the attentiveness , friendliness and helpfullness of everyone we came in contact with. Hubs wanted to try a Cuban coffee and took the opportunity to do so here. He enjoyed it, but said one was definitely enough. We both ordered the Cubano Especial, which if you don't know, is a standard Cuban sandwich, but more of it. I should have stuck to the smaller version because these sandwiches were gigantic, and I couldn't finish it all. Hubs even struggled, and he can eat! If you're new to Cuban food, this place is the place to start. Good food, good prices, and good and friendly service. 92/2025

I've been coming here for years. They've recently moved and opened a brand new restaurant which is an upgrade from the previous spot. Food remains consistently good, fresh and served quickly. Service was good overall as well. My biggest problems were the portion sizes (fried cheese) and the very noticeable price jump on everything. So we're paying more for less. See the tiny fried cheese they're serving now. Picture uploaded. They're Half the size of what they use to be, and for more money. They taste great but I wasnt happy with the new portion. Mentioned to mgmt but was told that they're not shrinking the portion, must have been the way they were cut. Mhmmm. My last visit saw them smaller as well but today's visit was indisputable. That's why the 4 stars. I use to feel I was getting a value. Now, it feels like I'm paying much more for less. Even the sizes of the churassco which is now $30. I hope they consider bringing back the portion sizes if they're charging more for the food.

Parking available to the side of the restaurant. We arrived for breakfast and we were pleased. They had a high chair available for our little one to enjoy the meal with us. We were able to sit at a round table. The menu has a lot of options so you may want to give it a look over before arriving. We had the Dos Huevos Revueltos and the Marios Rancheros. We thought it was adorable that they had a special water cup just for our little one. The food arrived quickly and correctly. The watermelon juice was very refreshing! Major bonus, they have a 35% military discount year round. So you know we will be back.

At the table, I had to ask for two or three straws

The new Building that they made is really nice. It started off with no parking near the front door. You have to park on the west portion of the restaurant and walk to the front door. In addition after ordering food was brought to the table and there were flies that wouldn't stop if I would've known this I would've sat outside. The service was good. The ambience was nice, but they could do better with the flies inside of the restaurant. I understand that the door opens it closes but still

I've been coming here for years and just realized I never left a review! If you live in Miami and haven't tried Mario's yet, you're seriously missing out. I always order the vaca frita with congris rice it's my absolute favorite. The meat is always seasoned to perfection, and the congris is cooked beautifully the vaca frita is flavorful, not greasy, just perfect every time. My husband always gets the chicken fajitas, and he finishes the entire plate within minutes! He says the chicken is super juicy, and the veggies have that perfect crisp not soggy at all. The side of beans and rice pairs perfectly with the fajitas. My nephew had the huevos rancheros and enjoyed every bite too. To wrap up the meal, I always get a café con leche, and it's made perfectly every time. The service here is always good friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The restaurant itself has such a cozy, homey vibe. It's the perfect hole-in-the-wall spot if you're looking for something affordable, delicious, and made with love. Overall, I'll be coming here forever, this place truly never disappoints.

We got a sampler platter that included some croquetas, plantain chips, tamal, fried pork chunks, and fried shrimp. Zero complaints about anything! So so good. My main was the Sopa de Res, which was a hearty soup. The serving size was gigantic. I actually took most of it back with me and it made two more meals. There were lots of root vegetables, slow cooked beef still on the bone, a side of rice and corn. My dad got a huge Cuban sandwich that he also ate on for days and my mom had empanadas, which I finished off for a third meal. We also went back for pie. That was ok - it was extremely rich and kind of pricy at $13 a slice. I also tried their Cortadito and took it to go. Great coffee as well. Highly, highly recommend eating here. The decor is fun and the wait staff super nice and patient with all our questions. They also have a separate ice cream shop across the parking lot.

My husband ordered a Cuban sandwich with French fries cooked to perfection in clean oil, and I had grilled chicken (pechuga à la Blanche) with beans, rice, and sweet plantain, along with cilantro sauce. The portion sizes are very generous and we each had leftovers for another whole meal. We will definitely be back! I also appreciated that the suggested tip amount started at 15%. We left more, but too many restaurants have the suggested tip amounts much too high. Do look at the menu item pricing, as some dishes were $75+. It may have been due to portion size as well as ingredients.

I was hoping to track down some chicken vegetable soup and my Airbnb host recommended this restaurant. Apparently, my daughter, who has been staying in Florida for the past two months, has eaten here at Casavana. We started with the Yucca fritas, they reminded me of and tasted similar to mozzarella sticks. I really liked the texture of these, they had a nice crunch and the dipping sauce was flavorful. For our main dishes, I had the chicken noodle soup while my daughter ordered the Churrasco platter. Both were delicious, the soup was hearty and flavorful with nice big chunks of chicken and noodles. The Churrasco was a strip of tender, juicy red meat with black beans, rice, plantains and a side of chimichurri sauce. If I'm ever back in the area, I would absolutely stop in and enjoy another meal.

I told her I don't feel good from the few bites I had of the first one why would I want another one. They refused to credit me back and insisted I just take another steak. I would stay away from this place. I am also contacting the health department because they are selling people rotten food.
