Food has potential but the service not so much. Our serve was completely clueless. Definitely needs to be retrained

Wow. This place was phenomenal. Our Airbnb host recommended this Cuban/Latin American restaurant in…read moreHomestead, FL and it was downright amazing! We got a sampler platter that included some croquetas, plantain chips, tamal, fried pork chunks, and fried shrimp. Zero complaints about anything! So so good. My main was the Sopa de Res, which was a hearty soup. The serving size was gigantic. I actually took most of it back with me and it made two more meals. There were lots of root vegetables, slow cooked beef still on the bone, a side of rice and corn. My dad got a huge Cuban sandwich that he also ate on for days and my mom had empanadas, which I finished off for a third meal. We also went back for pie. That was ok - it was extremely rich and kind of pricy at $13 a slice. I also tried their Cortadito and took it to go. Great coffee as well. Highly, highly recommend eating here. The decor is fun and the wait staff super nice and patient with all our questions. They also have a separate ice cream shop across the parking lot.

My husband ordered a Cuban sandwich with French fries cooked to perfection in clean oil, and I had grilled chicken (pechuga à la Blanche) with beans, rice, and sweet plantain, along with cilantro sauce. The portion sizes are very generous and we each had leftovers for another whole meal. We will definitely be back! I also appreciated that the suggested tip amount started at 15%. We left more, but too many restaurants have the suggested tip amounts much too high. Do look at the menu item pricing, as some dishes were $75+. It may have been due to portion size as well as ingredients.

First, how do you mess up tea? Way too sweet, couldn't taste the tea itself. The catfish was decent, although I could taste a bit of old oil in it. The coworker said the crab boil was good, I'll take her work for it. The service was kind of spotty, you could tell the server was assigned too many tables, he was all over the place or gone for long periods of time. The ambiance is kind of dated and tired but also very loud. Between the overbearing music and the roar of the crowd trying to talk over the music is wasn't very comfortable to have a meal here. They need to work on a better mix of service and ambiance.

I placed the order by phone, and it was ready right when I arrived for pickup. I loved that the food came in a nicely sealed, sturdy takeout bag with the receipt attached. Once we got home, the seafood boil smelled amazing. The crab was a great size, and the shrimp were tender and delicious. We ordered the Cajun seasoning mild, and it had a lot of flavor without being overpowering. Overall, I was very satisfied with my order, especially considering it was takeout. I'd definitely order from here again!

These are the best frituras of bacalao I have ever tried and the sauce compliments it so well! We paired this appetizer with the mojito flight and they were absolutely delicious. You get 4 options, passion fruit, lychee, guava & coconut. Afterwards we ordered the vaca frita with moros & tostones. You can order them extra crispy which I recommend. My fiancé ordered the Chicken cordon Bleu which is apparently a staple here and it did not disappoint at all! Overall we had a great experience and the food was fantastic, you can't go wrong with Cuban food in south florida. The remodel of the restaurant was fantastic and you can't tell they put in a lot of effort making this establishment look really nice with a great ambiance. The items we ordered were a little bit more pricey than usual but we assumed that when we got iPads for menus! Gotta pay off the remodel somehow! This place was 10/10 with excellent service & will return to try other items!
