Demanding more and more information each time and explaining they don't appreciate my attitude when I question why so many phone calls and messages are necessary for an appointment for a facial. This was my first 60-minute massage, and Karen was fantastic! At Purity Spa, you receive "spa"-ctacular service from the moment you enter the doors. After being greeted by a friendly office manager and offered a plethora of snacks (and sparkling water), I waited for less than 5 minutes. AND I had arrived super early, about 30 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment time. While I was prepared to wait, the team was very accommodating and saw me right away. Karen was great--firm but not too firm, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic about her work! The only problem was that I got a little too relaxed and nearly fell asleep, haha. read more

SUPERIOR in every aspect! I am a nurse with chronic back pain. I don't get massages for relaxation, I get them to control my pain. I am very critical of people and places that give me a massage. I have recently moved to Arlington and have now found my place and person to give me relief. Olga is extraordinary! She listened to what I had to say and was able to focus in on where I was having pain. She used a variety of massage techniques and truly is a master of what she does. In addition to being an exceptional masseuse, her wonderful manner is calming and relaxing. I left with an incredible reduction in pain and even more so the next day. The entire experience at Purity was exceptional. The phone reservation, people at check in, waiting room, massage rooms, all were inviting and relaxing. Many of the technicians who work there are lovely however, Purity Spa does not honor valid unexpired Groupons. They told me to try to get my money back through Groupon. Groupon would not refund my voucher so it was wasted. It's still a good place as long as you're not trying to use a Groupon. read more

They were so busy they didn't have my appointment on the book. They said they had a busy day when I booked my time. I had taken off the afternoon, driven there, and was prepared for a facial and a massage, only to find out that I was not on their schedule. I went to Purity Spa for the first time today, and unfortunately, I did not have the best experience. I was seen by Sunee for a prenatal massage. I have done prenatal massages before, and this was my third time so I am pretty familiar with how it goes. I am 8 months pregnant and I had been experiencing a lot of body aches in my third trimester. I had requested for medium-deep pressure, but Sunee expressed several times that she was not able to provide that because it is "unsafe" for me and the baby. This was the first time I had been given push back during a massage, and I have consulted with my doctors before, and they have said it was very safe (and even recommended) to do deep massages in the third trimester - I also have a heathy pregnancy and am not high risk. Sunee was already running late at the start of my appointment, and her unwillingness to continue halfway was very disappointing. We were about 20 minutes in when she had requested me to reschedule with another massage therapist because she couldn't provide more pressure on me, even after I told her it was okay to finish today's massage after she had asked. Even though it was very light pressure, it was still relaxing and I wanted to complete my appointment but it seemed like she didn't want to. After speaking to the receptionist, we agreed to finish the appointment with the pressure she was giving and confirmed that it would be a full body massage because Sunee was mainly doing just my back. Unfortunately, there must have been a miscommunication/misunderstanding because she never came back into the room and I had to call the front desk to let them know that I was still waiting in the room to finish my massage. She eventually came back, and expressed that she thought that I was going to end my appointment and reschedule with someone else on their team who does do deep prenatal massages. She did finish the massage and it ran late because of this gap in the middle of my appointment. Also, she did not do a full body massage - she came back and continued doing just my back and about 2 minutes on each arm (no hand or wrist), and legs (no feet massage either). I would say she spent the majority of my appointment on just my back, which was odd to me considering it was a "full body massage." I was truly saddened that this was my first experience there and that I received so much pushback even after I communicated to Sunee that I was okay with continuing my appointment and with the pressure she was giving me. They informed me that her specific prenatal certification only allowed for that, and I was okay with that because it was still relaxing and I was going to come back and schedule another appointment with someone else on their team. I am giving my experience a 3 star because the front desk team were truly so generous and amazing, and offered me a complimentary session to make up for this experience. Going forward, I hope to have a better and positive experience with the next massage therapist. read more

The location was easy to access and there are other establishments nearby of interest. As soon as my wife and I entered the spa for our couples' message, the employees were friendly and professional. We were offered beverages as well as a snack. The masseuses were very helpful, allowing us to ease into our session. The room was perfectly tempered. The sheets and heated blanket made for a comfortable time. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the skills and attention given by our masseuses. Thank you, Purity Spa. We will return. read more

I came here for a prenatal massage and it was so nice!! I came in on a Sunday and there was on street parking right in front of the store. PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE - I was left with several scars from a procedure I had done here. All I wanted was to have them cover the fees for the medical procedure my doctor said was necessary to fix what they had done to me. The owner was heartless in response. She claimed that my doctor, who works at GW was trying to scam me and that all I needed was to exfoliate/do a chemical feel. I had booked appointments at his place to redeem two Groupons (massage and facial) that my husband got me as a valentine's day present. For context, we had twin girls 6 months ago. I booked the services back to back and was really looking forward to getting some much needed relaxation for myself as a new twin mom who doesn't really get much time for self care. Unfortunately, the morning of the bookings our nanny had a family emergency and could not come in so I called the spa to ask for some relaxation in the cancellation/rescheduling policy on humanitarian grounds as I had no child care/help that day. The general manager I talked to was very rude on the phone and didn't really listen to what had happened. I kept trying to tell her the backstory and reason for my request but all I got was "sorry but I cant help you here - If 5 people called to make same day cancellations, how will I run my business." Also that my request would have been accommodated if I wasn't using a Groupon. I understand the logistical issues with such type of requests and would have been okay with not being able to redeem my Groupons if the person on the other end had taken the time to understand my problem and attempted to resolve scheduling on their end. Even my request of talking to someone else was met with - I am the general manger so that's all you will get. I am not sure what the service at this place are like but I would say if you are looking for a pleasant customer service experience, this place might not be the one to go to. read more
