First of all, the one hour massage was only 50 minutes, I got here on time, but they made me waited for 10 minutes to get the room ready. Second, I don't think the masseuse knew what she's doing, I have had massage many times in different countries, honestly, this was the worst one (I just don't think she knew how to give the proper massage). Lastly, as soon as l came out the room after I put my clothes on, one of the women stopped me and kept saying "tip" "tip" five times. On my way home from Ocha Tea, I saw a sign for massage for $45. Know I already had a massage today, I should check this place out for next time. From pulling into the drive way, the place really stood out. Seeing some prices on the door, I had some idea on what they have, but I wanted to see it all. I asked about the haircuts for men and she said they no longer do hair cuts. Yeah, and you call yourself a beauty school. I would think hair service would be a big thing for a beauty school. I saw a number of different services I would have liked to try, but the 3 choices she gave me really stinks. I have been here writing this review and have seen males and females come in and out of this place. This B.S lie the owner gave me is what puts this place at a 1 star. Most of the people were Asian from what I saw, but the one brother I did see walked in and then went upstairs to the massage section. So my aunt tells me she paid and booked a massage for me and I said OH HAIL YEAH! I love massages (ok, who doesn't, amirite?) so I was super stoked about this one. Upon arriving, there is plenty of parking and it was pretty easy to locate. When you enter the spa, the downstairs was more for nails and upstairs was where all the action happens (without the happy ending, depending on what you consider a happy ending lol) I thought it was very relaxing and spa-like, just what I'm looking for when I get a massage. I want to feel like I'm in some laguna or somewhere mystical. It really sets the mood! Nice soft music playing in the background, dim lighting and a water fountain thing flowing. I waited for maybe 5 minutes before someone asked me to go into the room and change into the massage robe. When my therapist entered, she asked me to lay down on my back and put my feet in a bowl of warm water. Something new..... but I assumed she knew what she was doing and had a purpose for it. I later discovered that it's probably their way of cleaning our feet before they get to work on it! Smart! Lol It started off AMAZING... so relaxing. She hit all the right spots. She started with my face, then worked her way to my shoulders & neck, my arms and down to my calves & feet. I dozed off a few times but I forced myself to stay awake to enjoy every last waking minute of this. It was truly amazing. Then she asked me to turn on my stomach and the real party started. She was kneading me pretty heavily and even started to "hit me with her fists" in a light enough way so that it's massaging and not abusive. It was strange and I felt like I was back home in Asia. But again, what do I know, I'm a noobie here and a lot of people actually enjoy it lol. They have two locations, one in Eden center and another one in Annandale. I like their Annandale location very much. Its a very quiet and relaxing place. Affordable massages in a nice ambiance. My husband and I went to this place to get a couples massage for $50 each. The spa has two levels, there is a nail salon in the lower level and the massages in the upper level. They have created a nice ambiance with soft relaxing music, dimmed lights and nature inspired decor. The service in general was good, not outstanding. The instructions were unclear and contradictory from the very beginning; there was a sign by the entry door of the room that said "clothing must remain on during the duration of the services" but then they told us we needed to undress and use the cover ups they provide. They make you soak your feet in buckets of water (the same type of buckets a person would use to mop the floors), the towels are scratchy, and the blankets and coverups they provide are old-looking. The massage was good in my opinion although my husband didn't like it and his back was hurting for two days afterwards. The massage was a little rough towards the end but I think that is just their style. The place looked clean and smelled nice. You won't get a luxurious experience if that is what you are looking for; here you get what you pay for. read more

Had a 45 massage here today. brought my brother his massage was very amazing (he had someone else). I always come here for a massage when i'm exhausted, and leave very happy. Todays massage was very poor. I am so sad to even say that, I had Ashley and even though she is very nice, i had to ask her towards the end to actually massage my back harder so i can have at least half my moneys worth. After asking her, she starts going super hard to the point i had to stop her twice, she must of pinched a nerve in my neck or something cause i have some type of whiplash or something right now lol. Cao Dung Day Spa has limited consumer value that is limited to what they provide in manicures and pedicures. I've been here five times and each one was different with little consistency. Helen did a good job with the nails, but on one occasion couldn't finish the massage that I bought as a package deal. This last time, I had Moon for the massage portion and I wish I had skipped the massage altogether. The massages here are tour upper back, calfs and feet. That's half of a massage but I understand what I'm going to get. Even with this limited massage, this last one was horrible. Not even mechanical is how I'd describe Moon's massage. Of all the massages I've had here, Helen has done the best. I recommend getting the salon potion done here based on their price, and go somewhere else for massage. If you want a massage on about half of your body (for half price!), this is the place for you. When I arrived, I was told by the masseuse (who was very professional), that the "policy" of the spa was not to massage the "middle" of a client. She spent most of the time on my shoulders, hands, and feet (I guess I don't need a manicure or pedicure now!), with minimal time on my back. My legs massage only included that below the knee. So, if you'd like any "middle" areas massaged like your glutes, abbs, thighs, or chest, I suggest you go elsewhere. read more

Amazing! I almost don't want to write a review because this place is a hidden gem. A knotted right shoulder sent me on a hunt for a last minute massage. A full body here is $39/hour-- it was worth every penny and more. They use a reflexology approach, so just to note, it's a little different from a standard Swedish massage, but not that much. They got all the knots out and I felt so much better after. I think their official hours are 10 AM - 7 PM, but when I called they said they close at 9 PM and I was able to make an appointment for 7:30 PM. There's no shower, sauna, or steam room, but for the price, I'll give that up. They also don't speak a lot of English but I didn't find that to be a barrier. They have packages for a mani/pedi and 1 hr massage for $65, and a facial and massage for something like $80. I am definitely going back for one of those in the future. Didn't realize until I saw it posted, but it looks like they have a location in Falls Church, too, though that one doesn't have the same sparkling reviews. read more

They played '80s music and the lady barely spoke any English. Ay-ok with me since I wasn't in the mood to talk. The hour went by so quickly, but I will definitely be back! :) They offer other services and packages, but I'm really only interested in the $39 reflexology massage + foot soak. Had a massage here a few nights ago. First, was very appreciative that they took my expired gift certificate for the 1 hour massage. Given the name of the spa, I wasn't surprised that there were missing typical American spa things. No water offered while I waited, no forms filled out, no explanation of services, etc. (I enjoy cross-cultural experiences, though, so that's fun for me!) I'm sorry I didn't get the name of my masseuse (it may have been Angie, as that's who I originally booked the appointment with and who said she'd honor my gift cert., but I'm not sure if that was the same person who did the massage...). She was great! I don't like bruise-your-muscles deep massages, and the pressure was perfect. Stimulating, rhythmic, and worked out knots where needed. I especially liked the time she spent of the feet and head. Lots of good scalp. It was a bit quirky - she had to rush out twice in the middle to get hot towels and pour out the water from my foot soak, but she always came right back. The music was spa piped in from Pandora or Spotify and a really loud ad came on at one point. It took 30 mins for the waiting and changing before the massage actually began, but she gave me the full massage once she started. The towels/robes/decor wasn't exactly spiffy, but it was all clean-feeling and I felt good as I left. The reviews are correct, they often do just rub lotion on you. But my overall experience has been good and sometimes you get a really good masseuse. It's $39 and usually I just tip $11 on top of that. If you buy 5 massages at a time, the total cost per massage comes down to $35. They even have a 20 massage package as well. Regardless, they do a good job and if you don't like something you can kindly ask them to press more firmly or lightly. They can't read your mind. It's not a high end massage therapy spa. Hate to give this update, but I have to.... This will no longer be my massage place of choice after sending several friends there and telling my fellow yelpers about it. I scheduled a 90 minute massage here today and was quoted a price of $50. At first I thought "wow" this place keeps getting better. Not the case. I went in for my 90 minute massage which was supposed to start at 12:30, it didn't. It started more like 12:45. So, I went with it thinking they would probably work on me until 2:15. That was not the case, I was out of there at 2:00 sharp. But it gets better, I was charged $60 for the massage, not the quoted price. I tipped the masseuse generously as well. But why charge me $60 when you quoted $50? I spoke with the manager about this and he said too bad. I said too bad as well, I would be making an adjustment to my credit card and would tell my friends about this fiasco. I would've went for the 60 minute for $39 if it was $60 for a ninety minute and all I got was a eighty minute. Went in for the $39/1 hour massage and dropeed in. I walked in and announced that I wanted the 1 hour massage - the lady, who spoke no English at all, scooted me upstairs and to a room and closed the divider. No word exchange - where is the robe? What kind of massage ... - she opened the divider, no warning, and I stood there. I asked for a robe and she pointed to a basket. I robed myself and she proceeded with the massage. She put some ointment on her hands and started with my face (would be nice to know what lotion she was using ... ). All in all, I would not call this a massage, this is more of a touch and go through the motions. I indicated I had a knot on my hamstring and she didn't know how to work it. Also, there is sudden hitting every so often, which broke my peacuful state I was trying to get to. It was all unexpected. I tipped and told the lady at the cashier that people should be given a little intro so they know what to expect. I have friends who LOVE this place, but I personally prefer to pay a little more for massages that work my muscles, not a touch and go inexpensive (and unenjoybale) process. read more

This is by far the best massage I have ever had. My masseuse name was Crystal and I came there out of necessity from my doctor's order because I have a severe lumbar strain and I liked it so well I signed up for an extra half-hour today and I signed up on the package deal for 5 full hours for $175. If you choose this salon you will be very happy I am home resting now thanks to Crystal I am not in pain. They are very professional and very thorough and I definitely got my money's worth. I liked how they call you before the appointment to confirm but despite making it there on time, I was waiting for 10-15 minutes in the room for my massage to start, and when the lady came in she seemed surprised to find me there. Foot massage was lack luster and I had a hard time communicating with her. She was also on the phone for 10 minutes while massaging my head. Really? And I find it weird how they soak your feet in a container lined with a plastic bag. I asked the lady to skip massaging the rest of my body and to concentrate on my back (I also requested that she use more pressure) which was actually really good. I was not expecting a hot towel being thrown on my back at the end; a warning would've been nice. If this had been done the whole hour, it would've been worth the $39. read more

This is the reason Yelp should allow negative stars. If I could, I would give them a minus 5 stars. My relative registered for the school, paid the tuition months ago. No class. No instruction. Not even a phone call to check on her self-study progress. None!!! They did not even fill out the form for the exam correctly. They omitted the number of hours in the form which resulted in 3-4 weeks delay!!! Just a 30 pages booklet handed out and they said this is a beauty academy. The saga is not stopped yet. Next week, my relative is going to take a practical test, the instructor said that they do not have the practical test kit for her and suggested her to reschedule the exam !!! to add to the insults, Cao Dung said that they can't tell my relative as to where to buy the test kit !!! How irresponsible! and they took the money in cash, no receipt! I am sure I will spend the next few weeks talking to DPOR in Richmond to see how they have certified such a scam!!! If my relative can't take the test next week due to this irresponsible school, I will make sure a complaint to the board and the request for investigation will be followed. read more

A waste of time and money! I went for a two hour massage and was a bit put off when the lady told me I had to pay first. But, I went ahead and paid and then was told to go up stairs. During the massage noise and distractions never stopped. You could here everything going on outside the room. I paid for a 120 minute massage and only got a 95 minute session but I was happy to leave any way. A worthless massage of half of me and way too much oil and a big waste of time and money. WARNING!! Do not go here!! I went here the other day after not going for about a year due to pregnancy. The Mongolian girl that gave me my "massage" literally just rubbed her hands on my arms and legs. No massaging of the muscles or knots. When I very nicely told her she could massage harder, she purposely was trying to hurt me. She grabbed every ounce of fat on my body and squeezed it as hard as she could.
