Have been in the function room for two events so far and it's always been incredibly well serviced. The people who work there keep things running smoothly and easily. Both times was buffet service and people brought their plates up. Bar was full service and the bartender was quick and efficient. I do think it's a little pricey for a function, but all things considered, if you can afford it then it's a no brainer. I've never had any hiccups with events at this venue. We celebrated my husband's grandma's 100th birthday here. I wasn't involved in the planning of the event. It was a delightful experience. The buffet was hot and tasty, the bartenders for the host bar were friendly and speedy, and the AV worked well for the speeches and videos. We were allowed to bring in our own decorations and cake, too. There was lots of parking. There were multiple events being held in different rooms simultaneously, and everything went smoothly for our group. read more

What a great experience! I selected the Puritan to host my mother's 60th birthday party because it is one of her favorite restaurant's. It was an exceptional experience from beginning to end! The room didn't have a fee, there were just minimum orders for the food packages, which was fine. I put a deposit down when I booked it, and a few weeks before the event date placed my order. I had a choice of napkin colors to choose from that were included. I selected the Puritana package which was around $21 pp (2015 pricing) when you add tax and 17% gratuity. For that we had beverages (water, tea, coffee, and juices), fruit, a breakfast pastry platter, chicken tenders and we selected the following: greek salad, a variety of delicious sandwiches, ham (juicy!), quiche Lorraine, cheese-filled crepes with berries and potatoes. It was just a great spread and everyone was talking about how good it was. They also made a special meal accommodation for us upon request to make my mother's day particularly special and boy, it really was. Cash Bar service (which I did not add) was an additional $50, however; I will note that the bartenders were really great with what I saw from the other parties that were happening. They were attentive to guests to open doors for them, and made sure to ask if it was okay if they turned on the television in another room (we couldn't hear it so didn't mind). The wait staff was also very attentive and so nice. Tables were consistently cleared, water was full....etc... The only thing I thought was odd was that I was charged a $25.00 service fee to bring cupcake. I understand when they have to cut the cake and process additional dishes, but I was the only one that handled these and I brought my own plates. Regardless, it doesn't detract from my 5 stars. My guests were talking about the venue for their future parties. I'd do it all over again, and I probably will do again the next time I have a need. read more

We had our son's rehearsal dinner there on December 3, 2020. The food was delicious and buffet was plentiful. Kim Burke was our event coordinator. The wedding was originally scheduled on a different date and area. It was a last minute change of wedding venues that brought us to the Manchester area. Not being familiar with the area I was struggling to find a venue. Kim was the first person to respond to my request seeking a venue. From first time I spoke to her and up until 2 days before the dinner, Kim helped me with everything from choosing the buffet items to the size of the room to use due to covid restrictions. The tables each had beautiful centerpieces which I hadn't expected because I brought poinsettias to place on each table. Instead was able to add them to a table at the back of the room, which gave it an added touch. The server Carrie and bartender Margaret were also very professional and helpful the night of the event. The food was great, but the service and the management need work. When we complained to the manager and the owner about the service, his response was that they do a lot of these parties and they're not working with training wheels. Well all I can say is that they should be because one of their tires is flat. They put one server on a party that they thought would be 30 people, which ended up being 26. It was atrocious, orders weren't delivered correctly, ordered drinks were not brought over, wait for drinks was ridiculous, never mind the wait to order. We arrived at 12:20 and at 12:50 hadn't even placed an order. We got the Canotas room, which cost $100 then you order from the menu. I took orders 2 weeks ahead of time so when we walked in I could hand them the order. Instead they started taking orders from our first guests to arrive and then their food was coming out while the rest of us have even ordered yet. It was such a shit show, I wouldn't have another party there if it was free. Too much aggravation, service is awful and the drinks were way overpriced, it was $10 for a Tito's and diet. We were celebrating a big day and this lunch seriously put a damper on everything. I recently had my graduation party at the Puritan Conference Center. I'm very happy with my decision. For the party, I made my own menu (for entrees I chose chicken tenders, the salmon, and rib eye) and everyone was very satisfied with the food! I brought in my own cake (an additional $25 fee). You can avoid the additional fee if you purchase dessert directly from the Puritan,though the only cake they have is ice cream cake. Our server and coordinator were very helpful during the party. I was able to plan everything by email ahead of time. I was also allowed to choose my own napkin colors. The Puritan also allows you to add any decorations an hour before the event begins, which I found very helpful. The price for thirty-three people was very reasonable, including tax and tip it was roughly $40 per person. We would have spent much more at a restaurant, without the privacy and comfort of the event center. I will be looking to book the Puritan Conference Center for any future events and so will many of my guests! read more

A couple of weeks ago we threw a surprise party for a good friend on very short notice - about a week and a half. Kim Croteau, our Event Coordinator, was 100% fantastic - quick responses, friendly, compassionate, understanding and accommodating. Day of the event, our server Lahneen and our bartender Michelle were both super friendly and attentive. The appetizers were delicious, everything was turned out and around efficiently and quietly. It is not possible for me to give more than 5 stars, but please know that if I could, I would. I will absolutely keep Puritan in mind for my next event!!!
