We spent $100,000 several months ago for solar panels through this company. The company evidently was negligent in its installation because there is water penetrating into the house from the roof where the solar panel was attached. The cost of repair is significant with the removal of the solar panel, repair of the roof, re-installing the solar panel, and interior painting. My son-in-law and I spent hours on the phone with customer service and a project manager at PureLight. They admit that we have a 15 year warranty but claim that they will not honor the warranty because they no longer do business in the state of Washington even though the Washington Secretary of State's website has the company registered in the state well into 2026. I spoke to Christie in Customer Service and her only response was I understand your disappointment but we cannot help you. Luke, who is a current project manager, but wasn't ours who has since left the company, is trying to get the matter escalated to someone in leadership--I am not optimistic. We were under the impression that PureLight was a reputable company and are shocked at their failure to rectify their mistake, which is going to cost a lot of money. If anyone is thinking of doing business with this company, I would think twice. Fortunately I am an attorney and if they fail to own up to their mistake in the next few days, we will be forced to hire several contractors, pay for the repair out of pocket, and I will bring a lawsuit against the company. We have filed a complaint with the better business bureau and will be reporting the company to the Attorney General's Office. read more

Don't do it! The system we purchased was supposed to cover 90% of our production. Hasn't even covered 20% so now I have an expensive electric bill (about $300/m so far) AND a $200 solar payment. I've been calling the company since October 2024. Now being told that the information we provided to the salesman. wasn't enough to efficiently evaluate the system. If that is the case why didn't they tell us that we should wait? It doesn't matter as the contract states it is to cover 90% of the bill, so they are out of contract. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PURELIGHT POWER OF MEDFORD What you will notice is that most of these reviews are right after they install. They push the customer to leave a review before they actually use the product. I did the same and now I am updating. I am here to tell you, avoid this company and their products like the plague. Here is our experience with them. They will come do an audit of your power bill and what you are expected to need. Pretty standard. They will set you up with the panels you need and then get you financed. That part is pretty painless. The price they quote is if you take the tax credit and apply it back to the principal of your loan. If we applied the tax credit to the principal we would owe something like $170 per month for the financed panels. If we didnt apply the tax credit we would owe $241. We made too much money the year the panels went in, so the tax credit was erased by what we owed in taxes. That's on us. BUT..... Here are the issues. We built a brand new house with upgraded energy saving windows, appliances etc. Our house was built by one of the best contractors in Southern Oregon, and the house is solid. Its 2600 sqft, one level. Plenty of sun to hit the panels. In the January we paid $248 for our power because the panels aren't producing anything to sell back to pacific power (see attached photos for verification). So not only are we paying for a power bill, we are having to still pay for the panels. This is the BIGGEST SCAM I have ever been apart of. Summer, it does what it claims to do. My power bill is $15 give or take (I still have to pay the $241 for the financed panels), so essentially my power bill is $256 give or take. In the cold months, these things dont produce anything and you get crushed on the two bills. Now what you're going to see is Purelight is going to respond below here with some response about "We see your system is working at 95% of the agreed upon contract you signed with us" or some hogwash. This may be the case, somewhere in the contract it probably stated "you're going to pay a ton for these panels. You will still have a power bill plus the financed cost of the panels, potentially doubling your monthly power cost. We are never going to check your system to see if the panels aren't enough to keep up with your bills. We aren't going to acknowledge you're getting ripped off, and we certainly aren't going to make the situation right. We encourage new customers to leave feedback in summer months so that they see a $15 power bill and have a good experience with it. We know most of these new customers won't come back and change their reviews, so this makes us look really good to vulnerable new customers." I am sure that other solar companies are reputable and I fully support the solar movement. During the summer, it works, but during the winter, prepare to get bludgeoned by this scam. I know other solar companies let you roll over all the extra energy you produce so you dont get murdered in the winter months. My neighbors have Sunworks Solar and they dont pay anything during the winter more than they do in the summer. They had a panel not producing correctly and they contacted my neighbor to fix it. Not pure light! I called our old rep who left the company and asked what I could do. They said "good luck, I left for a new company and I dont think there's much you can do to fix it." I called pure light a couple times, its useless. Take your business somewhere else. I was warned about Purelight and here I am, kicking myself for locking in an incredibly long finance plan for these panels. I have been very vocal to everyone inquiring about our panels or friends on social asking about solar to avoid Purelight like the plague. I am on Facebook. Company is very misleading when initially talking to you about solar. I was told by the sales rep and a customer representative that no fees would be issued until installation. I had reiterated multiple times that we were looking at multiple vendors and were not solidifying our choice with purelight. Both ensured me that we would not pay any fees if we decided to not go with them. Now they say we owe a fee for the site survey. I will not being paying that fee as it was not communicated clearly by either person we spoke with and I was very clear that I was not signing a contract until I assessed our options. The vendor also was very pushy calling an outrageous amount of times to me and my husband and not understanding our concerns that we didn't yet no the actual consumption trends of our new home to properly assess system size. read more

I have never felt so totally screwed by ANY company or anybody in my 84 years of dealing with people or a business. When Purelight Power was giving me their sales pitch I told them that my roof was 18 years old. I asked them what would happen if I needed a new roof in the next few years. I was told they would do a thorough roof inspection before installing the panels to make sure there were no problems, and that most "20-year" roofs lasted much longer. They also told me that if I had to have my panels removed, they would do it for $100 per panel removal, and $100 per panel reinstalment. After the roof inspection, on March 27, 2023, I wrote a $500 check for earnest money. In April I wrote another check for $16,500 to start the project. In June I wrote a check for $16,500 after completion of the project. In February of 2024, one of my neighbors, in an adjacent lot, was having his roof replaced because of hail damage from a storm in March of 2023. I had my roof inspected and it was determined that there was extensive hail damage. My insurance company had its inspector take a look and they AGREED that there was extensive damage to the roof. They gathered information from the U.S. Weather Service and verified that a severe hailstorm had been in the area early in March 2023. To date, 9 houses in my immediate area have had or are having roof replacements from that same storm. When I contacted Daniel Shipley at Purelight Power he told me that they would not take the panels off for the "word of mouth" price. After a second call when I asked how much they would charge, he told me that they wouldn't take them off unless they could get the contract for the roof replacement. I told him that I already had signed a contract with a roofing company. All I needed was to have the panels removed. Mr. Shipley told me that Purelight Power would not take the panels off of my roof for any price - unless they would get the entire roofing project. The roofing company told me to contact a solar company they had dealt with in the past. When the panels were removed, the owner informed me that a panel was damaged due to incorrect installation. They pulled 6 additional damaged panels off of the roof. I contacted Daniel Shipley at Purelight Power, and of course, he blamed the damage on the other company removing the panels incorrectly. So, here I sit not wanting to place defective panels back on the roof, and Purelight Power is refusing to deal with me in any way to resolve my dilemma. I believe that Purelight Power, through their representative Daniel Shipley, has been totally dishonest with me. read more

Purelight power is an absolutely terrible company! We hired them to install solar panels on our roof, which was done quickly, but in the wrong places where we agreed to place them. They said they could not fix their mistake because they have now drilled holes into our roof and they had to stay there. They offered ONE free panel to make up for their mistake but then we had to buy 2 more because 3 have to be installed together to get the same amount of power we originally agreed upon. Since then, they never connected the panels to the Tesla app correctly and have been showing no productivity in the app since. We have absolutely no idea if they are producing anything. Then on top of trying to contact them to fix that issue, they went out of business in Ohio and refuse to help us in another state. Working with PureLight was purely the easiest decision I have made all year. I have thought about going solar for a few years now but never received the information or comfortability it takes from a provider to purchase their product. We were extremely disappointed in the sheer lack of communication with this company! We jumped through all the hoops, got everything approved, then everyone dropped us the like a hot rock! After many weeks and weeks and weeks without a single call, text, or email. My husband who is a 77 year old disabled vet, got sicker and sicker so we decided we don't want to do business with them. Be careful with your contract. The contract draft sent to me was different than the contract I signed. In my contract draft, they were supposed to pay the first six months of my solar panel payments or reimburse me for them. In the contract I actually signed the conveniently forgot to put that in the contract. They have told me they still owe me the money and need to fix my contract but have yet to fix it. They have not paid one payment of the first six payments on my solar panel bill since they have been installed. I started this process back in September 2024. It is a bait and switch on contract and I even have in writing from four people including management saying they owe me the money but have yet to ever send me a payment. Not the easiest company to work with I definitely would not recommend them for business. I also have a family member that works for this company and that's why I opted to go with them, but they are a horrible company to try and deal with. Also don't fall victim to their tax rebate as they call it for panel installation. It is an actual credit, and even if you do not qualify for the credit, they will raise your rates for not applying the credit towards your loan. read more

I am a former client of solgen solar company which filed bankruptcy. and now pure light solar company took over all contracts from solgen power . which their customer service was terrible I was hoping that when pure light came into the picture, their customer service would be much better. I've had to call them myself and they told me that, they have a lot of solar panels out there and that they can't keep track of every one of them so it's the homeowners responsibility to let them know when a panel is out. But that's not the case so I realized I had a panel out and I have been waiting for them to replace the panel for the last two months and I keep getting calls saying we're sorry we have to change the time and the date of your service because we're backlogged , what a joke . I have had a lot of trouble getting anyone to call me back when I call the main number. My panels are installed but I can't operate yet due to red tape. I have left about 4-5 messages over the past several weeks and no one ever calls back. The salesman who helped me initially was the best, responsive. The electricians were responsive. Everyone else has been super hard to reach. This is very frustrating as a customer. Also, Purelight needs to upload the proof of inspection which happened over 2 weeks ago and pac power can't do anything until they do this but I can't reach anyone to even communicate about this. Our experience with Purelight has been positive in every way. I've been curious about solar, so I took the quiz posted on Facebook and was soon contacted by a representative to schedule a free consult. When Dean arrived to discuss solar as an option for us, he was very professional. He was not pushy, and did not try to rope us into anything. He was so friendly and explained things thoroughly so we understood exactly how the process worked. We quickly realized it was something we wanted to pursue. As he said, and we agree, going solar sells itself. The solar panels will save us quite a bit of money in the long run. (Side note: Dean is awesome about returning texts and calls! He was the best salesman I've ever worked with.) Once we signed the papers, there were a few more steps to go through and lots of waiting, but Purelight kept us informed as far as what to expect and when, so nothing was ever concerning or confusing. So my wife and I got 3 quotes. We tend to go with the company that's middle of the road. We had a close friend that went with this company so we were already leaning towards PureLight and they were the middle priced company so it was a no brainer. E V E R Y T H I N G was east with this company. The two other companies were a typical sales force. These guys were more professional and confident in their product which spilled over to us. At the time of estimate and install we were in the middle of a pandemic so we had to wait 2 months for install. I loved how they kept in contact and let us know each time we got closer to the day of install. When that beautiful day came, the install was so much faster than we thought it was going to be. The next step was a wait due to the power company so not on PureLight. Once the switch was flipped, we got a super excellent and knowledge sharing cruise through the system and the app. He even showed me what the codes are on the meter. I of course forgot what they mean. Lol. Anywho.....super proud of who we went through and the product we're rocking on the roof. read more
