The City of Ashland has cash incentives for solar, so if you can qualify for that, it can really accelerate your returns. But, things could start changing in 2018 based on current laws on the books, so 2017 is a good year to investigate. Other towns might have their own local incentives too. We did a 14-panel installation with True South Solar, and the end-to-end experience was truly top notch. We had a few meetings with Wade, one of their sales guys, and he could answer every question and go over details both broad and specific. After he spent time surveying our roof, and writing up a proposal, we knew it was a good thing to pursue. Installation was quick and the crew couldn't have been nicer or more courteous. They finished most of the work in a day, and now a lot of our energy needs are powered by the sun! Clean energy. Positive ROI. Easy end-to-end process! We went with True South Solar because they use the high-end panels that are made by SunPower, which has a higher efficiency over its lifetime. Since we also just installed a new roof recently, we wanted to get the most benefit for the longest period of time, and these panels were the way to go for us. After the no-pressure sales pitch, we were pretty convinced. Even if you're not sure yet, it's worth giving these guys a call and they can do a free assessment of what is possible for you. Mine was...different…read more We talked with them at the Home Show and were really excited to have them come out and give us a quote, so we scheduled an appointment with them for in April. Appointment time came and went. The guy was a no show. Didn't call, either. A couple of hours after the appointment time, I called their office. Got the standard outgoing "sorry we missed your call blah blah blah" so I left the standard name-number-reason for calling message. Here we are in late June, and I'm still waiting for the call back. I would love to have solar panels with the energy storage battery system, but if they are this unreliable before we even get started, I will respectfully pass. I will continue to look for a company who actually wants to do business and respects their scheduling commitments. To waste my time (that I took off work for this appointment) and not even follow up with a return call tells me all I need to know. Kinda feels like dodging a bullet.
