Don R.

I have been regularly going to pure and simple for almost a decade. Throughout this time, I keep seeing Caitlyn as my aesthetician of choice because by my estimations she is the best of the best. I tried a few other facials, at different places or within the same pure and simple and Caitlyn is just on a league of her own. She is meticulous and gentle, both in the way she delivers the treatment and the way she interacts with me. Her face massage is second to none, as a matter of fact most aestheticians don't even bother to give a face massage. That's a crime because face massage has so many benefits to your skin. Caitlyn is also a master of extractions, which most aestheticians dislike but according to Caitlyn it's one of her favourite things to do. She uses her hands with some tissues to do the extractions which in my experience is the best way to get extractions done as opposed to the metal tool thing that other aestheticians use. That metal tool always causes me irritations, in contrast I have never felt irritated by Caitlyn's hands. In fact she's so gentle I manage to sleep through the whole extraction phase of the facial most times. As for the spa, it's clean and well managed; so long as Caitlyn works there I will keep coming back.

Left- Green Tea Face wash ($29.95). Right- Rose Hydrosol spray($19.95). Great products!

Good experience. Skin care products were great. The aesthetician was not pushy to sell. I would definitely be going back for another facial.

LONG REVIEW ALERTT!!! NEVER GO THERE FOR FULL BODY WAX!…read more As the owner of an IT company with 10 years of experience in the customer-facing industry, I have never encountered such awful people and service. It's shocking that a business can operate with such a lack of empathy and professionalism. I recently had the misfortune of visiting Prayosha Downtown beauty salon for a full body wax/Brazilian wax service. I arrived an hour late, apologized, and offered to wait or reschedule, but the front desk girl, Jasmine, suggested we proceed. The service was a disaster from the start. The initial technician, Roopi, was rough and careless, causing me to bleed from a burn bruise on my right hand's finger within the first 5 minutes. When I politely asked her to be more considerate, she was defensive and unapologetic. I was shocked by her attitude and lack of empathy. After that, Roopi disappeared and never came back to explain herself or apologize for her actions. Fortunately, Arushi took over and completed the service in another 2 hours. YES, 2 Hours!! Because the drama continued as Jasmine took turns trying to justify her ever changing statements and constant door knocks interrupting Arushi to leave my service and attend other customers. Arushi did whisper to me that I shouldn't tell others that she had finished the entire body waxing may be she knew that the other staff members were trying to take advantage of me. At two instances, I was offered a partial service by Jasmine but she would constantly change her statements. I think, she needs medical help with this foggy brain. It was clear that they were not interested in providing me with the full service I had asked for. They were asking me to pay the full price but they wouldn't do the front and the back as apparently, they didn't have the time bandwidth. I offered them that I could potentially wait or comeback in an hour or two but they didn't want that either. As I later found out, the girls were scared to provide me with the service because of my dry skin. While I understand that may be a concern, it was not the only issue. The real problem was that I was being body shamed and discriminated against because of my weight. I was made to feel like I didn't deserve the service because of my size. I was appalled when I asked Jasmine if the girls were hesitant to work on me because of my weight? And she said, YES! And kept blabbering further!!! Which honestly, I didn't listen! Throughout the ordeal, I was body shamed and humiliated, and I felt like I was being treated like dirt, a burden, not a customer. The staff's lack of empathy, professionalism, and manners were appalling. As an Indian woman myself, I was particularly disappointed to see such behavior from people who claim to represent our community. It's a shame that they are perpetuating the same stereotypes and biases that we try to overcome. Am I not allowed to have beauty services just because I'm obese? I'm paying the full price, just like anyone else. It's not like I'm asking for a special treatment? It was Roopi who suggested a special treatment while rolling her eyes in disgust and I quote, " I can't do the service alone if you expect me to considerate of your body (she meant flabby excess fat), I would need another girl to help out." To make matters worse, I started bleeding from a wound that I had, which the careless technician, Roopi had ignored and ripped off. It was a painful and traumatic experience. Eventually, I spoke to the owner, Kumud, who was 300 Kms away, she heard me but had a different story to share. Maybe her employees lied to her to cover for themselves. At least she was understanding and spoke in a professional way. In the end, I still ended up paying the full price of $89 for the service, despite the horrific experience and crying at the salon premises!! I want to warn others: beware of Prayosha Downtown beauty salon. The staff's behavior is unacceptable and is a reflection of the worst of Indian society from RURAL INDIA. Their body shaming and discrimination towards customers is a shame!!! It's a shame that they are bringing Indian community down with their ignorance and lack of empathy.

I moved to Toronto from Montreal about a year and a half ago and was looking for a new place to get electrolysis done. I tried a few different places in Toronto and wasn't really satisfied with any of them. I found out about this place by buying a Groupon, and I've been a regular ever since. I find that the electrolysis prices are reasonable (a little bit more expensive than in Montreal, but cheaper than most other places who do electrolysis in Toronto), the location is super convenient for me (20 minutes away from my work and close to a TTC station), staff is friendly, and the clinic is very easy to reach to make, reschedule or cancel an appointment (whether through email or phone). Also, the two technicians who work there are REALLY good at electrolysis - both Anna and Isabelle are good at removing all hairs on a surface, and I saw a strong, noticeable difference in the amount of hair in the surfaces I do electrolysis there. Also, they both really know how to do electrolysis PROPERLY - they first kill the hair with electricity, then they pluck the hair with a tweeze, so the dead hair just naturally "slides" out of your skin - for some of the other places I tried for electrolysis in Montreal and Toronto, I could tell that the person was not doing the proper electrolysis technique (i.e. the hair was not "killed" when they were tweezing it out... which is really annoying because it basically means that you pay for nothing) I also had a few "cherry spots" (red freckles) removed there, and had positive results too. The place doesn't look fancy or isn't in a cool building, but that's fine with me - I'd rather pay a reasonable price here than go somewhere that looks fancier and pay extra for that. Would overall definitely recommend for electrolysis/cherry spots removal.

I decided to come here with my boyfriend because he really needed a massage. He's been working over time nearly everyday and stands a lot. It seemed like a really good idea to gift him a relaxing morning. While he did that, I decided I'd get a manicure to help pass the time. Mirabel was amazing at helping us do the booking and being very clear about the costs etc. Absolutely wonderful! Starting with the boyfriend's experience: the hydrotherapy was nice, but it was also not the most relaxing. He was getting splashed in the face a bit by the masseuse controlling the handheld jet which you can imagine is quite unpleasant, especially when you're meant to relax. He didn't enjoy it much but the effects of increasing circulation in the body certainly worked. He did enjoy the 45 minutes massage that followed thankfully. His masseuse was able to work out a lot of his knots in the shoulder and upper back. And he said that was very relaxing and he wishes he would have just done a full 90 minutes of massage instead. If this review was based solely on the one service, 5 stars! The manicure was not great at all. I realize it's not what they specialize in, but I think if they plan to charge as much as a regular manicure bar for polish ($38) then they should invest in proper training for application and more color options. They didn't even have white. The website says choose from 150+ colors. What a lie. I walked in and there were about 40 pinks and purples + a small handful of random colors. Usually I'm having trouble deciding because I love all the colours. Here I was disappointed to see they did absolutely NOT have 150+ colors to choose from. That was upsetting and misleading. The hand massage was amazing and the prep was done well. They really got the cuticles formed nicely, though I am sensitive and had to mention it a few times. She was a bit rough with the sharper pointy tool. I was not very relaxed. What bugs me is that they didn't do a base coat and didn't properly cap the nails. The brand apparently doesn't require it but I think that's a very basic few steps to ensure the best longevity of the manicure for your client. They also paint in tiny strokes not fully down the nail so now that it's dry, I can see it's not smooth at all. It's been less than 24 hours, and I've done no heavy lifting or soaks. It's already chipped. I do my nails all the time with regular polish and chipping usually begins in 5 days or so, even with heavy lifting. The top coat was very thin and I think didn't do much to protect the polish, either. I would not recommend the manicures at all. Pedicures is a different story because they can help you treat the callouses etc. But I wouldn't spend the money here for a manicure again. You can't charge $38 + tax when you have very few color options, no base coat, and no good quality top coat. Update the wording on your website please to reflect that you have limited options. Over all, he enjoyed his massage, and the team members were extremely pleasant. The environment is nice with a fantastic steam room available to clients in the shower area. But after a lot of reflection on the entirety of the experience, I don't think I'll be back or really recommend them. When you're one of 100+ spas, you need to invest more into the services so people want to return, even when it's your smallest services. You have wonderful staff and fantastic location.
