I posted this review a week ago sharing my experience because I didn't want anyone else going…read morethrough what I went through. Back story: I had appointments in January for laser scar removal. However, I was given a skin lighting cream to use in conjunction with my treatments and was not told that I needed to stop three days prior to my appointment. I ended up going to my appointment but was told that I needed to move the appointment to a different day since I had just used a lightening skin cream that morning. I was told to email the director to reinstate my appointment. In January he emailed me back and reinstated my appointment. I then went to the appointment he reinstated. Please find attached screenshots for reference of our communication. That happened in January and fast forward we are now in April. As time passed I really wasn't satisfied with the service provided so I decided to leave a review a week ago. After my review the owner unprofessionally revoked my last treatment session coming up in May. This was a complete separate appointment with a different laser which I paid for separately from the one he reinstated. I have already paid in full and he has not provided me a refund. He decided to cancel my last upcoming appointment out of spite due to my bad review and is trying to link it to the missed appointment that he already reinstated in January (almost 5 months ago). I truly wish I had read reviews before booking at this establishment. My background as a nurse gives me a different perspective. Some staff members seemed underqualified, contributing to an uncomfortable environment from the beginning. During my second laser session, the nurse appeared unsure of how to use the laser and needed assistance. The procedure was incredibly painful, resulting in scarring. Despite assurances that this was normal, the pain was intense, and six treatments have not improved the scars. I need to mention that a-lot of 5 star reviews are misleading because the owner often reinstates appointments in exchange for reviews. While I understand that not every client will have a negative experience, it's crucial to take the poor reviews seriously. Sometimes the issues can be remedied by how it is handled. However, the way the owner handles issues at this company demonstrates a lack of professionalism and extreme immaturity. In response to any criticism, he decides to just cancel your appointments unethically. I caution you that if you do have any negative feedback please leave them after all your appointments have been completed. Please see attached photos:

I paid almost $1,600 for Dermamelan treatment on my back, chest, and stomach. I had no allergic reaction during the in‑clinic portion and confirmed my at‑home instructions carefully. A week later, my skin became painful, raw, and the top layer was visibly peeling. I sent photos to the clinic and was told this was "normal" and to continue my post care. It wasn't. My skin barrier was broken, and following their advice meant applying an acid product to open wounds. Within two days, I developed severe chemical burns across my back, chest, and neck. My skin is now scarred and significantly worse than before I ever contacted Bellair. It didn't end there. My in‑person assessment with Dr. Pugen was switched to virtual while I was already on my way, making it useless. As I cried through the appointment, he suggested laser treatment even though both my dermatologist and Bellair's own coordinator said it would be high‑risk for my skin type. Two follow‑up calls were scheduled; nobody called me either time and I had to call the clinic to make the appointments happen. The clinic also took very personal "before" photos of my bare chest and back, then later claimed they COULDN'T FIND THEM and they were never uploaded due to "wifi issues." They use iPads with internal storage, so this makes no sense. The violation of patient privacy is truly baffling. When I requested a refund from the director, Oscar Amar, he dragged it out for 19 days, insisted they "did nothing wrong," and eventually offered a partial refund of no specified amount. After everything, it was like a slap in the face. What happened to me here was NOT OKAY. Period. It was dangerous, negligent, and deeply unethical. Proceed with extreme caution. Currently I am using the Ducray face wash, which this clinic sells and the toner they medically prescribe. My skin is clearing up and becoming normal again. Over the years I have visited a few acne clinics and this is the one that has stood by me over the years. I recommend you check them out if you suffer from acne. If they advise you to stop using moisturizer and your skin doesn't start producing oil in a 6+ months, definitely return to see how they can help you. I went through one very scalely year when I was told not to use moisturizer.

Apparently, one milia was hard to extract, so - without first informing me - Dr Sliwowicz - decided to cut it out. I now have a big (2mm) cut under my eye, which he had to "glue" back together. Can't wear makeup and it looks like I got in a bar fight. It made me cancel my evening plans. He promises it will heal in 10 days, so I will update then. Right now - I'm really upset. If my undereye is messed up forever because of a poorly executed $25 extraction, I'm going to sue him. Either way, I think a doctor should ask before he cuts out a piece of your face! Especially when it's a cosmetic clinic so obviously I'm there to look better not a hell of a lot worse!

They do offer some at the latest in health and wellness such as the vampire facial CO2 laser, cool sculpting, Botox, and a whole other plethora of treatment options I have fully healed from my combination treatment of IPL and CO2 laser I asked for a very aggressive treatment to tighten my skin rid of lines redness and pigmentation. I'm extremely happy with the results I healed very fast. The clinic did offer a follow up appointment with a nurse. Altogether it was a fantastic experience with great results. I'm very careful about who I recommend to go to certain clinics but this one is amazing and you definitely get results and what you paid for. I have been doing botox and fillers for years and have always told my injector what I wanted. At skinatomy they are so well trained that they told me exactly what I needed. I was hesitant at first but have never been so happy. I am so happy with the results. I've also gone to so many places for ipl and fraxel. I've never gotten any results until I started with skinatomy. The equipment they use is equivalent to what is used in plastic surgeons offices. The skinatomy staff is so great, always helpful and so well trained that it puts you at ease. I will be a client for life!!!

I moved to Toronto from Montreal about a year and a half ago and was looking for a new place to get electrolysis done. I tried a few different places in Toronto and wasn't really satisfied with any of them. I found out about this place by buying a Groupon, and I've been a regular ever since. I find that the electrolysis prices are reasonable (a little bit more expensive than in Montreal, but cheaper than most other places who do electrolysis in Toronto), the location is super convenient for me (20 minutes away from my work and close to a TTC station), staff is friendly, and the clinic is very easy to reach to make, reschedule or cancel an appointment (whether through email or phone). Also, the two technicians who work there are REALLY good at electrolysis - both Anna and Isabelle are good at removing all hairs on a surface, and I saw a strong, noticeable difference in the amount of hair in the surfaces I do electrolysis there. Also, they both really know how to do electrolysis PROPERLY - they first kill the hair with electricity, then they pluck the hair with a tweeze, so the dead hair just naturally "slides" out of your skin - for some of the other places I tried for electrolysis in Montreal and Toronto, I could tell that the person was not doing the proper electrolysis technique (i.e. the hair was not "killed" when they were tweezing it out... which is really annoying because it basically means that you pay for nothing) I also had a few "cherry spots" (red freckles) removed there, and had positive results too. The place doesn't look fancy or isn't in a cool building, but that's fine with me - I'd rather pay a reasonable price here than go somewhere that looks fancier and pay extra for that. Would overall definitely recommend for electrolysis/cherry spots removal.

I was looking for reviews online on google and here, and there is hardly anything available. So, I've decided to share my experiences here. Hopefully, they will be useful for someone. On Tuesday, I tried @ananekebeautysalon. I went there to get my Biogel manicure refill. They are in Yonge and Eglinton area. This place was recommended to me, and it had such good reviews on Yelp, and BlogTo. Plus, with a personal recommendation, I thought it was going to be my go-to nail salon. Maybe it's just my luck but this is not going to happen. I do not remember the name of my nail artist. Here is a list of things I didn't like. 1) She took forever to do my refill, literally over 1.5 hours. I don't do anything complicated on my hands. Usually, it's just a French manicure which I was getting this time. She kept messing up the white lines on top of the nails and redoing them. And then again. And again. And again. ‍ While I did appreciate the effort to get it right, this is the first time somebody had to redo several times half of my nails. By the end of it, I wasn't sure that the lady knew what she was doing. 2) The lady didn't file the edges of my nails properly. I didn't notice it in the salon, but I noticed it later that day when I was already on my way home. 3) She was doing such a bad job filing my nails and cut so much skin next to the nail bed on one of my fingers that it hurt for a few days. 4) On Friday, four days later, the white gel polish started chipping on several of my nails. This is ridiculous. This is biogel. It last forever and can survive alien invasion, nuclear war, and zombie apocalypse. This is the reason why I do it: biogel is the only thing that doesn't chip on my hands for three weeks. I don't know how this lady did it that it started chipping so early. Not a happy customer here. Sadly, after this experience I can not recommend this place to anybody. Please avoid it. ‍

Warning to all Second Skin Clients and Yelpers: Yelp has closed our business account because we refuse to advertise with them. They have tried repeatedly to force our company to advertise with them. After refusing to advertise with yelp, they have "filtered" all of our 20+ positive reviews, only to showcase any 1,2,3 star rating. Reviews by ki. k and Monique. S are fake reviews by fake customers and, in our opinion, could work for yelp. Please check the "not recommended" reviews and you will see that they keep deleting this write up on yelp almost instantly after I post it. They have gone so far as to block my IP address. I will continue to post this message on OUR business page on Yelp, until Yelp removes our business listing, completely. Please be advised that at least 1/3 of reviews on yelp are fake. Yelp keeps control of a business's star ratings in order to extort money from businesses with promises of getting rid of, or filtering out any negative reviews, and only showcasing positive reviews, most of which are fake reviews by the company or by yelp team members. You will notice that most, if not all, companies that advertise on yelp have a 4 or 5 star rating, however, if you look under their "not recommended reviews" they have a lot of negative reviews, or the negative reviews have been deleted by yelp. If you were a business that wanted to advertise on yelp, you would not want to showcase a 1 or 2 star rating. Yelp is a business, and must make a profit. Their profits are from advertising dollars, thus, if a business has a poor rating, they will not want to advertise on Yelp, so Yelp helps the business by taking their money and filtering out any negative reviews. As well, if a business has a 4-5 star rating without advertising on their business on Yelp, Yelp will extort money from that company by filtering out all of their positive reviews, showcasing any negative reviews, and in our opinion, going so far as to write fake negative reviews to hurt the business into advertising with yelp. This is not slander as I have email evidence of this fact. They have now closed our business account so that we are not able to leave any feedback on any reviews, and we have no control over our business on yelp. Yelp has full control of our business by controlling the number of stars we have, number of positive or negative reviews we have, and not allowing us to defend our business from these fake negative reviews. I've been to the folks at Second Skin and I've had nothing but good things to say about the spa. I've had everything from laser hair removal to Botox and I can honestly say that they have always treated me well; from the receptionist to the technicians. I've had great results from the treatments and I especially like their product line. They have a great O2 restoring moisturizing cream that really penetrates the skin and smells like blueberry; not oily, and moisturizes the skin for hours. I would highly recommend. Also, I've had their 3D Skin Treatment and nowhere in Toronto can you find a treatment like this one. They start with a silkpeel treatment which leaves my skin moisturized and removes the dead skin. They actually show you a bottle that contains all of dirt and debris that was taken off your skin. They then do the photofacial, and Rose likes to attack the pigmentation hard. Yes, you feel the snaps, like rubber bands going off on your face, but you can see the dark pigmentation right after the treatment. They then finish off the treatment with a chemical peel. I feel a little tingling sensation and that, they tell me, is the skin cells breaking apart. A few days after the treatment I always see darkened spots coming up on my skin and then exfoliate off a few days later, just as they say it would. Anyhow, I can tell you from first hand experience that my skin has never been better, even after 50 something years of age, and that is because of the folks at second skin. I highly recommend this medspa and I would speak to Rose if you have any skin concerns. I've read the reviews below and i'm sure there is more to the story with these yelp people leaving such negative comments - I've experienced NONE of those comments or concerns. I do use Yelp a lot, but this is my first review and I'm glad that it is for Second Skin. UPDATE: It seems the owners are right about Yelp harassing them and filtering their positive reviews. I posted a legitimate, honest review of the business and 1 day later it was filtered. YET, I also left a positive review for the Fish Market and that review was not filtered. It does seem that Yelp is filtering this companies positive reviews out of spite. Very disappointed in Yelp and their business ethics. read more

I have been going to Rose and Tino for almost 5 years. I have read some of the other reviews and have to strongly disagree with Rose trying to pressure people into buying other services. Rose makes recommendations and if I decide to take them, I will. Sometimes I have actually wanted some additional services done - such as IPL in September - but Rose would say 'no, come back after the summer is over and you're out of the sun'. Other times I greatly appreciate and take her recommendations, for example being in for a facial and getting my eyebrows done while I wait. Tino is very patient and will take the time to explain anything, and not just assume you need to just trust what he is doing. They get back to your inquiries in fantastic time, and do their best to accommodate you if you have a change of schedule. Leaving your FACE in someone else's hands is huge. I trust these people with my face and have had silk peels, juvederm, fraxel, eyebrows done, and will continue to see them because they have a great facility, are great people, and are professionals. I absolutely trust that they will correct anything I am unhappy with, and they have great prices. I really wouldn't want to go anywhere else. I came to second spa by chance 3 yrs ago, they had a deal. Tino and Rose are professional & very nice. I wouldn't dare go anywhere else. Tino is the best, I trust his judgement. He remember everything which makes me feel like I'm not just another person going in, but someone he cares about I feel very comfortable whenever I go there to get a touch up. I've been going to Rose for years. I have had micro blading done there twice and no one can beat Rose's steady hand and measured technique to have realistic looking brows. The office is always extremely clean, well lit and welcoming. Even after months between appointments, Rose somehow remembers not just my name but details of my last visit, my life and my aesthetic goals. Amazing read more

"clinical" ;) turns out i was totally in luck . martina was very warm , relaxed and welcoming , and she seemed genuinely interested in my skin . it was a very nice space , and the atmosphere in the room where she performed the facial was well-appointed , comforting and serene . she didnt try to upsell me on any extra treatments , didnt push any products on me , and in fact gave me a recommendation for something that i can buy at the drugstore . it was so refreshing to deal with someone who was helpful and honest it was one of the best parts of the experience ! as for the actual facial , i have to admit that this was the first one ive ever had , but i am a pretty critical gal in general so despite my lack of experience if she werent a pro i would have noticed . it was , from what i understand , a typical but well-executed routine of cleansing , steam , extractions , mask , toning and moisturising . i have read in other reviews of facials that some people are put-off by having the esthetician leave the room during parts of the treatment . this didnt bother me at all ; she left the room twice for 10 minutes each time ; during the steam and during the mask , and i found it very nice and peaceful . i actually think i would find it awkward to have the esthetician stay in the room in silence with you for 10 minutes ! all in all , this was a really great experience for me and i already bought my sister the same deal as a gift ! i am hoping to return in the future and will recommend martina to anyone looking for a kind and skilled esthetician :)

Bit of background...I attended the Yonge Street location for my treatments and the Bay St. location…read morefor my consultation. I underwent a series of CO2 laser treatments, including fractional laser on my cheeks, for my icepick acne scars between 2022 and 2023. Unfortunately, my experience was highly disappointing. Despite spending over $6,000 on 6 sessions and additional mandatory treatment skincare products, the results did not meet expectations. This was extremely disheartening in the end, as the procedure itself was extremely painful, requiring a full week of downtime after each session. TREATMENT: During my treatments, I noticed inconsistencies in the care provided. While Ina, the technician responsible for most of my sessions, did take her time during less busy appointments, I noticed she would rush through sessions when her schedule was packed. Given that EACH session cost around $1,000 for 50 minutes of treatment time, I expected a more consistent level of care. I understand it's a business, but for the cost, a little more attention and respect to the patient should have been given... I strongly believe there is a chance that I did not get the results I was told by the staff I would get, because of the lack of attention actually given during the treatments. CUSTOMER SERVICE: After 3x initial sessions, I was advised in December 2022 to undergo an additional 3, with the clinic CONFIDENTLY promising me a 60% reduction in the appearance of my scars. Unfortunately, after completing all 6 sessions, I saw little to no improvement (less than 10%). Rather than addressing my concerns with empathy, Ina and the front desk staff attempted to sell me more sessions, which was disheartening, considering the financial and emotional investment I had already made. Overall, this experience gave me the impression that the clinic prioritizes profit over patient care. Considering the pain, time, and significant cost involved, I expected a higher standard of professionalism, bedside manner, and customer service. I strongly do NOT recommend this clinic, as it appears to focus more on profit than truly helping patients.

Shoutout to Regina, Alyssa and Christabelle for being lovely and accommodating to my questions. I have very sensitive skin and I have been traumatized by going to Markham spas with questionable hygiene and standards...so going to New Dermamed was definitely a game changer. The staff I've spoken to are mostly nurses with a certification specializing in doing laser, facials, etc. Definitely helps provide reassurance that I was in good hands! Overall I would recommend checking out New DermaMed for the superior quality, care and customer service received. Looking forward to my next facial!

My first impression was a positive one. Right away, I was greeted by a friendly staff member who made pleasant small talk with me while confirming my appointment details. I arrived a few minutes early, so I got a chance to soak in the atmosphere of the bright, spacious lobby. It didn't take long before I felt completely at ease. My visit with Dr. Kellett was a long and thorough one. From the way she answered my questions, I can tell that she was a true professional who was very knowledgeable in her area of expertise. We had a detailed discussion about my condition, and she recommended several treatments while explaining the pros and cons of each option. Throughout our meeting, she remained kind, patient, and very sensitive to my feelings. Since then, I have been visiting DLK on Avenue for over a year and my impression remains largely the same. This is a fantastic place for quality services in skincare treatment and I highly recommend it!
